Dr. Najmeh was born in Iran and moved to the United States at the age of seven. After some time in California and Iowa, her family settled in Oregon where she spent most of her childhood. Upon completing high school, she attended Portland State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in 2005. She then attended University of California, San Francisco and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2010. She spent one year in Maui, Hawaii completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency prior to moving to Seattle, WA for a pediatric dental residency at the University of Washington and Seattle Childrens Hospital. There she also received her Masters of Science in Dentistry (MSD) in 2013.
After completion of her final degree, she moved to sunny San Diego and has been providing excellent care in pediatric dentistry since 2013. After learning, researching, and further understanding the issues caused by tongue and lip ties, she decided to open her own, specialized clinic to provide advanced laser treatment to this patient population. Dr. Najmeh states that her work in this specialty clinic and with these patients has been profoundly rewarding and has changed the focus and direction of her career.
In 2017 she opened her full pediatric dental practice where she prides herself in using the most current and state-of-the-art equipment and technology to provide the most efficient care for her patients.
Dr. Najmeh is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), California Society of Pediatric Dentistry (CSPD), San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDC), San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition (SDBC), and International Affiliation of Tongue Tie Professionals (IATP).
Dr. Najmeh Hannanvash is locally known for her commitment and work on treating newborns, infants, toddlers, and children of all ages with lip and tongue ties with the used of advanced laser surgery. She is an expert in her field and is a preferred provider in Southern California.

Dr. Kim and the staff are wonderful. They're always friendly and eager to answer any questions or concerns. The ortho treatments for my sons have been a smooth and pleasant process (as much as braces can be for teen/preteen boys ). Dr. Kim is particularly great at looking at the bigger picture and end goals for each child and caters each treatment accordingly to make every adjustment as effective and efficient as possible. I also appreciate the consistency of the staff's communication and service.

I was recently in the San Diego area and I went to have ice cream with my Neice needless to say she chipped her tooth, I wanted to go to the appointment with my brother because I'm nosey and I wanted to make sure my Neice was fine from the time we checked in, the initial visit and upon exiting the experience from the receptionist on down was phenomenal!!!!! I almost wanted to move and be a kid again so I could be a patient here all in all I haven't ever seen a dental staff so dedicated to the little ones they might as well add a daycare to the business. I'm truly grateful that my Neice nerves were calmed, the staff were so attentive to her and now she thinks anytime she eats something she should have an appointment. 10/10 recommend my kid has autism and they do everything they can to get the job done. I had gone to a different dentist before they refused to do any job on my kid because he wouldn't open his mouth... i was supper confused because little start always gets the job done ... moral of the story im not changing my kids dentist office for nothing!!!!

We were referred here by our lactation consultant for tongue tie release. I was very nervous about getting the procedure done on my little guy. We had been having a lot of trouble breastfeeding. It was taking easily 45-60 minutes per feed, he was so gassy and would scream for hours in pain, my nipples were still so painful at >6 weeks from his birth and I was feeling defeated. I hadn't heard much of tongue ties before and I "thought" that seeing my little guys tongue move then he must be ok. Well I learned a LOT! He had a posterior tongue tie and once it was released it has been NIGHT and DAY different nursing! He wasn't under weight but started gaining in a healthy way more rapidly, he nurses both sides in 20 min (sometimes more for comfort only); and the gas and gas pain have significantly decreased. I am very very thankful to my lactation consultant and for LittleStar for all they have done to help me and my little one!! They are very professional, kind, organized, clean, and responsive here. They explain everything and are available for questions. I had almost walked out of the consultation due to fear and hearing another baby cry. Mine did but only briefly. He was out of my arms for less than 10 min. It was a hard couple of days and the needed stretches are the worst BUT, knowing now 2 weeks out, I would do it again way more easily as my little guy has turned into a happy baby where he was hurting so bad from gas before swallowing so much air. The stretch pain is only brief where the gas pain would last hours! He smiles and coos and can actually stick his tongue out past his lip. I hope my experience can help another desperate mama who would be giving up breastfeeding that this can really help and this clinic is very knowledgeable skilled to help your little one. Thank you little star!!

My 3 younger kids have been coming here for the last couple years. Always a pleasant experience, they do everything they can to calm my youngest child's anxiety, and now he no longer fears coming. I have recommended Little Star to my friends, amd will continue coming back. The dentists amd staff are always happy and pleasant to work with!
