Both Dr. Stefan Ionescu and his competent, warm, and friendly staff are well trained in communicating with families. Dr. Stefan Ionescu enjoys creating a fun and comfortable experience for children at each and every dental visit. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He taught high school in Europe prior to returning to Texas and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry. He then went on to complete an additional two years of specialized pediatric training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Ionescu is a board certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Dentistry, the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. In his spare time Dr. Ionescu and his wife, Dr. Brittany Jones Ionescu, enjoy hiking with their dogs, kayaking and traveling.
Dr. Jones Ionescu loves working with children and educating them and their families about their oral health. She obtained her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree for Louisiana State University. Following Dental School, she worked in the New Orleans area before moving to San Antonio to complete her pediatric training at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Jones is a Board Certified pediatric dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. In her free time Dr. Jones Ionescu enjoys trying new restaurants with her husband Dr. Stefan Ionescu, traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
JoAnn has an associates degree in dental hygiene from Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. She has been calling Little Smiles Dentistry her second family since 2003 and feels blessed to do so. Most of her dental experience has been in pediatric dentistry, where she focuses on providing the best care possible while having fun and making children feel comfortable. JoAnn also oversees the daily activities of the entire office.
Bianca enjoys working at the practice, citing Dr. Ionescu as a wonderful, caring dentist who takes the time to listen to each patients individual needs. She is proud to be part of such a friendly, dedicated team.
Faviola, (Favi) is originally from El Paso and has been a dental assistant since 2004. She is married with two children, Jacob and Isabella. Favi is fluent in Spanish and enjoys spending her free time with her family and shopping for antiques.
Kessia is our front desk specialist, who is fluent in Spanish! She is currently studying and training to be a Registered Dental Assistant. Kessia is married and likes so spend her free time with family and enjoying outdoor activities.

We have been going here for about 3 years now, We really have enjoyed our visits until today.. Our 3 year old son grabbed onto a hook on the wall and accidentally broke it. He wasn't running around wild or anything none of our children where. Our son saw a hook on the wall pulled on it a bit and it broke, simple as that. I apologized of course and felt bad for that happening. The dental assistant was very kind and didn't make us feel bad about it, so we of course werent expecting this reaction when dr Stefan came in. Before even introducing himself or saying hello he stated sternly "you're going to have to learn to control your children" that we would no longer be able to schedule their appointments together and i need to not bring them all at the same time anymore. My husband works so I take care of appts. What upsets us the most is that he did not pull me to the side and ask to talk about it, in which case we would have offered to have it replaced if it was that much of a problem. Instead he decided to say these things loudly in front of not only the dental assistant but our children who are only, 1, 2 and 3. I understand that he may have had a long day but that was no excuse to his unproffesionalism.

I tried to get my son for a toothache and they said they couldn't guarantee treatment but had to see him first then make an appointment..I was able to go to a Dentist in Helotes and get treatment the same day.

The absolute BEST dental experience my kids have had! We visited Little Smiles for the first time today. The staff/doctor was compassionate, relatable, and efficient. They put my little ones at ease and created a relaxing environment. I was so impressed overall, and we will continue to visit this pediatric dentist in the future!

I've been taking my son to Little Smiles Dentistry since he was 4 years old. He is 16 now and has no cavities in his adult death, dispite his not great brushing habits. The staff/dentists are great. They operate very efficiently with the perfect amount of time with patients. Great practice!

Dr. Stephan is the most genuine caring pediatric dentist I have ever worked. After using him for many years with at risk children, I also use him for my son. We have moved to another city 2 hrs away but we still come to Boerne just for him. The staff are awesome and very professional.

My boys have been going to this dentist since they started getting teeth I love them they are really good with my boys. I live in San Antonio but I drive to boerne cuz they have always been good to my kids. To me that is more important than it being close by
