Ever since he can remember, Dr. Mike has wanted to help people. He originally planned to be a doctor, but he had a great relationship with his orthodontist while growing up, and he saw first-hand how happy he was with his career and his patients results. He also secretly loved attempting to fix his braces when they were broken. After working as a dental tech on an oral surgeons office and shadowing multiple dentists, Dr. Mike knew that dentistry was the right fit for him and the rest is history!
After creating an Individualized Bachelor of Science in Social, Scientific, and Business Studies of Health and then graduating summa cum laude with Honors at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Mike completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He also a General Practice Residency program at Danbury Hospital to further his skills. Since then, he has pursued regular continuing education through the Spear programs. He is also a proud member of the American Dental Association, Vermont Dental Association, the American Academy of Clear Aligners, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Mike is happily married to Dr. Kristen, who also practices here at Elevate Dental. Hes also close with his parents and his younger brother, who works in healthcare IT. He enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle, especially skiing in the winter, kayaking, hiking, running, and enjoying the water at Lake Champlain in the warmer months. He also likes going to outdoor concerts, cooking, traveling (especially to Europe), and playing the drums. Hes a HUGE soccer aficionado and still plays when he can too one day, he hopes to get into coaching. He can usually be found trying to keep up skiing with Dr. Kristen at Stowe during the winter!

I saw Dr. Mike today for treatment. Our patients may recognize me as I work at the front desk at Elevate Dental and have worked as a dental assistant in the past. Today was my first time being a patient here and my first time ever having a root canal. Because of my personal struggles with dental anxiety I was very nervous. Jen D and Lauren sat and talked with me before my appointment which really helped calm my nerves. Dr. Mike magically gave me a completely painless experience from injection to now, hours after, where I am still completely pain free. Dr. Mike checked in with me often during the procedure to make sure I was comfortable and he worked quickly. I saw the post op xray and he did an amazing root canal despite my curved root tips! Thanks to the whole team for taking such good care of me! I would highly recommend this office!

Had my first cleaning today coming over from Dr Bolanis's office for many years. Had a hiccup with scheduling my hygienist, Pam, but they straightened that out very professionally. Dr Mike was excellent. Recommend them.

I can't thank Dr. Mike enough for being so kind and patient with me. He explained everything step by step and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I have major dental anxiety and didn't think I'd be able to sit through another procedure of any kind without sedation but I'm proud to say that I made it through and they did a great job.

Besides the usual cleaning, the dentist made a thorough examination of my jaw, gums, and teeth. (This was my first visit with this dentist.) One problem was detected, which will require the extraction of a molar, to be replaced by an implant. As the title says, this is excellent dental care, from any point of view.

Many months ago I had an amalgam replaced--it happened to be the first day that Liscio Dental transferred to the new owners and became Elevate. I was a very happy client of Dr. Liscio for many years, and credit him with a lot of great work and good personality, as well as customer service. On that day, to my surprise, Dr. Kristin treated me. The very first things she did after introducing herself was give me a bruise on the side of my face that took more than 5 weeks to go away. I left that day spitting mercury out of my mouth, and in pain. Don't get me wrong, I actually love to go to the dentist. I love clean teeth, and have worked to replace old fillings. I chose to work with a holistic dentist even though they would not take my insurance, all these years paying out of pocket, because I believed I was getting the best quality possible. I thought maybe Dr Kristin was just a little aggressive due to the excitement of just having closed on the new practice an hour earlier. I decided to go ahead and schedule my cleaning. Today, after confirming my appointment umpteen times via email, text, and an actual phone call (they go a little overboard,) I arrived and waited 20 minutes to be seen, despite being on time AND the only patient in the office. Literally there was one hygienist there due to everyone else being away at a conference. When I sat down, she tried unsuccessfully to take my BP twice--until I couldn't feel anything but sharp pains shooting in my fingertips. She was obviously irritated with me, but I thought it was no big deal--I just told her what was happening with a laugh to lighten the mood. She didn't even smile, just yanked the collar off. Now, I am on a tight schedule and she is beginning way past appointment time. I have other appointments, etcetera. She informed me that I must have a full xray series. "No problem, I just can't today due to time constraints." "Well then I will not clean your teeth today." Huh? I waited 6 months for this appointment and actually looked forward to it (I know, I'm weird that way.) Between the bruise, the attitude, and the lack of awareness, or ability to handle patients' needs, I will not be back. I hope Dr. Liscio is enjoying retirement.

I always loved this place when it was Liscio Dental and was bummed to see it had gone under new ownership... however, I went in yesterday for a cleaning and was so relieved to find the same warmth, cleanliness, care, and ease in the new office at Elevate Dental. The staff is very sweet, attentive, thorough, I was seen right away - all the things you want at a dentist. I am so glad to know I still have a reliable place to come back to! I must say, I am very happy with the Elevate Dental office in our area. I needed an emergency visit today, and as a new patient, I was whisked into their office within the hour.. that is service!! I had a dental emergency and had not yet established a relationship with a local practice. I called Elevate Dental's number after hours, left a message, and within 10 minutes had a call back and an appointment the next morning. The staff was friendly and professional, and Dr. Mike was superb: personable, expertly skilled, and parient-centered. I'm sold. Elevate Dental is our new provider for all our dental health needs. Fr. All of the staff are very friendly and the office setting is clean, relaxing seating with nice plants, complementary coffee. :^) I was very pleased to hear that Pam, Lisa and Janice were able to transition from their former dental practice to Elevate Dental. I've always gotten excellent dental cleanings and care from Pam and appreciate the special connection/friendship we've had the past 30 years.
