Dr. Lisa Gitelson began her dental career as a chairside assistant and was so interested in her work that she decided to become a dentist. A graduate of Portland State University, she later earned her dental doctorate (with honors) from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 1999. She owned an office in Salem for ten years and purchased this office in 2012. Dr. Lisa keeps up with the latest trends in dentistry by attending continuing education courses in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea relief, and the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Washington County Dental Society.
Dr. Will Wanninger joined the Gitelson Dental Group team in 2019. He graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University, and he earned his dental degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he served a one-year residency at the University of Alabama Hospital focusing on surgery and trauma patients. He brings a conservative approach to our office, and his interest in the artistic elements of dentistry provides our restorative dentistry patients with results they can clearly see. Dr. Wanninger might be a native of Birmingham, Alabama, but he has come to love the Pacific Northwest. Our easy access to nature and backpacking, hiking, and fishing opportunities easily won him over. He loves sports and traveling when not exploring the great outdoors.
We are excited to introduce our newest associate, Dr. Mijin Choi. She recently moved here from Seattle with her fianc, who is in the oral surgery program at OHSU. Dr. Choi is a graduate of the University of New England College of Dental Medicine. She is a general dentist but also enjoys more complex forms of treatment (implant placement, root canal therapy, clear braces, etc.).
Many treatments we have referred out to specialists in the past can now be done in the office, saving our patients time and expense. She is bright, confident, and highly skilled. We cant wait for you to meet her, and were delighted to have another female practitioner in the office.

Wonderful professionals! I broke a tooth while camping and was in pain. Left a phone message Sunday evening that I would be calling early Monday and almost immediately received a call from Dr. Choi who saw me first thing in the morning and did a wonderful, quick repair! Absolutely outstanding in all regards!

The first dentist I can trust. Never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room and the doctor comes in immediately. Super friendly and personable staff members and they talk you through everything they do. Love this practice and love Dr.Choi, Thanks everyone!

When the dental office you go to has a lot of personnel turnover that means there's a problem in the office. If you are a patient here you should be aware of this. This office in particular has had an astronomical amount of turnover.

As an unfortunate mouth breather, going to the dentist can be an overwhelming, anxiety causing and an often terrifying experience. I avoided going to the dentist for a long time after a bad experience at another clinic. I'm now so thankful I've found this clinic. All staff are very caring and personable. Dr. Choi and her assistant Lynn are incredibly accommodating, compassionate, thoughtful and creative in ways to help you feel more comfortable. I have never felt this level of care at any other medical facility. I can't recommend this clinic and their amazing team enough.

Most painless visit I've had at the dentist. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and made it a wonderful experience. You could tell they loved what they did, were efficient, and went the extra mile in every interaction. Can't recommend them enough.

Routine exam/cleaning. Diane the hygienist has a soft touch a wonderful sense of humor. Dr. Choi developed a realistic and appropriate treatment plan w/o pressure. Front office is efficient, organized.

Absolutely excellent people! Definitely went above and beyond, several times during my first visit with my 4 yr old daughter. Everything was explained well, and through their actions and words, I truly felt that my best interest and satisfaction was everyone's top priority. I look forward to returning... To the dentist!

There are few factors that led me to leave a 2-star rating. I am all about supporting a local business and staying with a dentist long-term. Unfortunately things didn't work out and I won't be coming back to the Gitelson dental group. My original appointment was on 2/9 and office called on the day of to let me know that a hygienist is sick and need to reschedule, totally understandable and actually appreciated the precaution with COVID pandemic. I went in on 2/17 for the first appointment. The front receptionist is friendly and office is super clean. When the hygienist told me that she needs to take 18 X-rays, I was shocked. Although I choke up easily, I stayed with it. After X-rays, the hygienist started checking my gum lines and in the middle of it, she walked out saying "I will be right back". While waiting for the hygienist to come back, few others walked in and out to grab supplies and things, which is some what unprofessional and invasive to patient privacy. About 10 minutes later, a different hygienist came in and said she is taking over. Because second hygienist was filling in before her next patient, I can sense that she was rushing to clean my teeth. In the middle of cleaning, the dentist walked to do do the exam. I don't mind friendly small talks but the dentist was asking so many questions and many were unrelated to my dental health. Also, it is kind of hard to answer questions when you have your mouth open! After too many Q&A, the actual exam only lasted for few minutes and the dentist said I have 3 cavities to treat. I thought it was odd to have 3 cavities all of sudden when I have been going to the dentist regularly. I went back to my previous dentist to get a second opinion and was informed that I don't need to get treated but keep watching few spots.
