Dr. Lisa Gitelson began her dental career as a chairside assistant and was so interested in her work that she decided to become a dentist. A graduate of Portland State University, she later earned her dental doctorate (with honors) from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 1999. She owned an office in Salem for ten years and purchased this office in 2012. Dr. Lisa keeps up with the latest trends in dentistry by attending continuing education courses in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea relief, and the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Washington County Dental Society.
Dr. Will Wanninger joined the Gitelson Dental Group team in 2019. He graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University, and he earned his dental degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he served a one-year residency at the University of Alabama Hospital focusing on surgery and trauma patients. He brings a conservative approach to our office, and his interest in the artistic elements of dentistry provides our restorative dentistry patients with results they can clearly see. Dr. Wanninger might be a native of Birmingham, Alabama, but he has come to love the Pacific Northwest. Our easy access to nature and backpacking, hiking, and fishing opportunities easily won him over. He loves sports and traveling when not exploring the great outdoors.
We are excited to introduce our newest associate, Dr. Mijin Choi. She recently moved here from Seattle with her fianc, who is in the oral surgery program at OHSU. Dr. Choi is a graduate of the University of New England College of Dental Medicine. She is a general dentist but also enjoys more complex forms of treatment (implant placement, root canal therapy, clear braces, etc.).
Many treatments we have referred out to specialists in the past can now be done in the office, saving our patients time and expense. She is bright, confident, and highly skilled. We cant wait for you to meet her, and were delighted to have another female practitioner in the office.
