I moved to Linton in 1998. I was working for another business in town when I heard about a job opening at the dental office and decided to check into it! I accepted a job at Linton Dental in July of 2001, which is something I never would have dreamed I would do! I began working toward becoming a dental assistant, and doing hands-on training with Dr. Schaar. I finished up my training with Dr. Turman and became a Registered Dental Assistant in 2014.

I love working with people, and being an assistant allows me the opportunity to meet many new people each day, as well as keep up with patients who have been loyal to us for years. My favorite thing about working at Linton Dental is of course meeting new people, but also learning about new equipment such as our Cerec machine that can make crowns in one day and the Solea Laser, which allows us to do many procedures in less time, and virtually pain free! I am very passionate about my job and about doing the best that I can. I hope that when people leave our office, they will tell others that I am friendly and compassionate, and that I do my job well. That is my goal each day when I come to work.

Outside of work, I love spending time with husband, my six kids and six grandchildren. I hope that someday soon, I will also be able to enjoy some time visiting my sister in California! If there is anyone who is considering a job in healthcare or who wants a job that allows them to serve and build strong ties with the community in which they work, I encourage you to consider a career in the field of dentistry.

If I am honest, the reason I chose dental hygiene was the hours! I had considered going into nursing but was selfish, because I didnt want to work holidays or weekends. I considered dental hygiene since it was something in the healthcare field. After some checking, I knew that this was what I should be, because it involved cleaning and anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE to clean!

That is one of the rewards of the job: having your patients see and feel the difference after their cleanings. Its not always an easy path for the patient or the hygienist, but the end result is always worth it. We understand that the dental office is not a favorite place to visit, but we are doing what we love to benefit you!

I like the small-town life and not having to worry about the morning commute through traffic. We are all lucky to have the opportunity to live our rural lifestyle but work in a dental office that provides such cutting-edge care to our patients. When you marry a farmer, you dont get many options when it comes to where you live. Im very happy with the profession I chose, and that I can to practice dental hygiene, even in a rural area.

I went to college at the University of South Dakota, not really knowing what I wanted to do. I had thought about being an x-ray tech or a nurse, but wasnt sure, so I started off with general courses my first semester. My advisor just happened to be an instructor in the Dental Hygiene Department, and after visiting with him a few times, he talked me into applying for the Dental Hygiene program. If I am totally honest, the idea of a two-year program sounded great! I was not a huge fan of school. So long story short, I got accepted, and had two very stressful and hard years of school. But it was worth every tear and sleepless night. As soon as I started the program, I knew it was for me. I love what I do, and I also love the flexibility it has given me after I started a family.

Id say one of the biggest challenges of working as a hygienist is finding a job in our rural area. My husband farmed, and finding a job close to Herreid after I graduated just wasnt happening. I worked in Bismarck for the first 10 years of my career. It became a bigger challenge especially after having two kids. Then there was an opening for a hygienist in Linton, and even though I loved my job and coworkers in Bismarck I knew the right thing for my family was to move home.

In my off time I love spending time with my family and friends, attending my kids sporting/school events and traveling with my husband to someplace warm in the winter. My husband, Bob, is an Agronomist for Pinnacle Ag, and he also farms. I have three children: Erika is in her 2nd year at SDSU, Adam is a junior and Jacob is a 6th grader in Herreid.

If there is one thing I want my patients to know, it would be that I try to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Ive heard many times over the last 24 years, this is not my favorite place to be. I hope my patients know I have their best interests in mind, and Im doing what I love to help them retain their natural smiles.

I have been at Turman Dental since February of 1987 for more than 30 years! I started as a dental assistant for Dr. Scott Schaar. In 1989 I became a Registered Dental Assistant and in 1996 the receptionist. The best part of my job is the patients. We have great patients, and I have met so many wonderful people over the years. I try to make sure that our patients leave our office knowing that we care about them. Nothing is better than a compliment from our patients. Outside of work I love to spend time with my family. I have a wonderful husband Dan, five children, Jessica, Brent, Bryce, Brady and Brandon, and seven grandchildren, Rylan, Jordyn, Camden, Jada ,Hailey, Lydia and Wyatt.

I have always LOVED going to the dentist, even when I was little. Growing up, I had the best dentist, so my experiences were always enjoyable and fun. I started my dental journey at NDSCS in Wahpeton by first earning my dental assisting degree. After achieving that, I moved on to get my dental hygiene degree. I graduated on a Friday in May and started working for Dr. Turman the following Monday. I have worked with Dr. Turman for over 4 years now. I was very fortunate to find a job right out of school, so close to where I would be living.

I grew up in Carrington, ND, where my love for health care began when I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in high school. A couple of years later I earned my Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) license. I always knew the medical field was my calling in life because I love caring for others and helping people. If I was not a dental hygienist, I probably would have been a nurse, or something where I would be involved with caring for others. I want my patients to know I am always looking out for their best interests, and I truly want them to have the same enjoyable and fun experience that I have always had visiting the dentist.

I now live southwest of Napoleon with my husband, Evan, who farms and ranches. We have a daughter, Gretta, and two sons, Zayne and Korbyn. Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family; especially at the lake in the summertime, horseback riding, quilting, traveling, and playing volleyball on our local volleyball league.

I grew up in Bismarck, ND, with my parents and two brothers. After graduating from high school, I attended NDSU where I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Apparel and Textiles. After a few years working in the retail world in Fargo, I knew I needed a change that would make life be more balanced. I decided to make the move back to Bismarck, which is where I met my husband, Eric. We got married in September of 2018 and currently live in Hazelton near his familys farm.

When I was still living in Bismarck, a friend of mine introduced me to the dental field and I really enjoyed it. I was looking for a career that I could grow into and still be able to work with people. After getting married and moving to Hazelton, I was worried about finding a job in this rural community. My husband and I were thrilled that I was able to start working at Linton Dental. Its the perfect fit for us and Im so excited to work in this field! I enjoy working with people, and making patients feel at ease when they are in the office.

In my spare time I enjoy refurbishing antiques, going to auctions, and anything to do with painting and crafts. I love spending time with my family and friends. Most of all I love to go fishing, hunting, camping, and do anything in the outdoors with my husband and our yellow lab Radar.

I grew up on a farm by Braddock, North Dakota, with my parents, sister, and two brothers. I graduated from Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock Public School and went to college at the University of Mary. While at college, I earned my bachelors degree in social behavioral sciences and social work. I was a stay-at-home mom for many years and a childcare provider. I have been working at Linton Dental Center since December 2019. This position has been a wonderful experience and very rewarding.

My husband, Paul, and I have six children, Grace, Levi, Claire, Grant, Eden and Sarah. I absolutely love spending time with my family and watching my children participate in sports. In my spare time, I love being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards.

If you are in need of dental care, look no further! I was blessed to work for Linton Dental and the Turman family for two years, and I can say with all the confidence in the world that they are some of the most honest, genuine, kind and compassionate people I have ever met. I don't know about you, but when I need health care, I want to know that I'm getting someone who is honest, fair, and genuinely cares, and not just someone who is looking to squeeze an extra dollar out of my pocket! At Linton Dental, honest, trustworthy health care is exactly what you get from both the dentist and the entire staff! Truly the most exceptional and ethical staff I have worked with. Although I now live 8 hours away, I continue to to come to Linton for my dental needs. It is worth the drive!! There is no place that compares when it comes to technological advancements, honest care, pain-free dentistry, and good people! I can't say enough good!

Okay, I went into Linton Dental today for the first time. I went in as a follow up from a dental appointment in Minneapolis. The staff here in Linton are amazing and extremely kind and honest. I would recommend them to anyone. Honesty is the best policy in life and they live to be honest to everyone every time and to Make the World a Better Place one Smile at a Time!!
