Learning about good oral hygiene begins in childhood. As a leading kids dentist for Coppell, TX patients, Dr. Linda provides gentle dental care for children of all ages. It does not matter how old or young you are. As long as you have at least one tooth, learning proper brushing and flossing techniques is a vital part of life. The lessons you learn in childhood often carry over into adulthood and become lifelong habits. Teaching your kids how to keep their teeth clean is an important part of early parenting that should not be ignored.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child begin having regular dental checkups as soon as the first tooth appears. Bringing your child to see a pediatric dentist at such an early age is important, as it allows them to become accustomed to the environment and learn how to maintain a healthy smile. Dr. Linda provides gentle dental care that will keep your child happy and healthy. You should also begin brushing and flossing with your child as soon as they get their first tooth. Since children often imitate their parents, it is important that you set a good example and help to develop proper habits of daily brushing and flossing.

Linda A. Steele, DDS knew as a little girl that she wanted to help others. Over the years, this yearning developed into a desire to help children. What better way to help a child than to provide them with a healthy smile? She recognized that through pediatric dentistry, she could educate parents and have a positive impact on a childs overall health and self-esteem.

Dr. Linda received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University in 1986, graduated from the Baylor College of Dentistry in 1992 and completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. It was this hospital-based training that provided Dr. Linda with extensive experience in caring for a variety of children, particularly those with special needs.

With over twenty years of experience, Dr. Linda's practice is limited to dental treatment of infants, children and teens. Her specific interests are in the treatment of dental disease in the very young. She is on staff at the Texas Pediatric Surgery Center where she performs comprehensive total dental rehabilitation for children too young to undergo treatment in the office. Although this is rarely necessary, this treatment can transform a childs life from one of pain and constant repeated dental visits to one of dental comfort and only routine dental hygiene care.

Early education and reinforcement is the key to a lifetime of good oral hygiene and a healthy smile. Dr. Linda strives to make every child's dental experience a positive one. She is dedicated to ensuring every patient receives the highest level of care in a gentle, reassuring manner in a non-threatening, kid-friendly environment. Through the use of the latest dental techniques and technology, she offers both restorative and cosmetic pediatric treatments. She urges parents to bring children in for a dental evaluation before their first birthday or at the sign of their first tooth. Early visits give both the child and the parent the needed confidence to start a lifetime of good dental habits.

Dr. Linda and her husband, J. Darrell Steele, DDS, MD, established Steele Dental Specialties, a combined Oral Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry practice in 2001. The couple resides in Coppell, Texas with their three children. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society, and the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentists. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society.

We have been taking three of our kids to Dr. Steele for the past 8 years and have never left disappointed. Dr. Steele and her staff have been excellent each visit. She helps the kids to feel comfortable and none of them have ever appeared to be scared or upset about going to the dentist. The office staff and hygienists are all very kind and welcoming. The waiting area is very fun and inviting for kids as well. Her husband also has an oral surgery practice next door that we have had to use for one of our children and everything was so easy and seamless. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Steele's practice to family and friends.

Took my 2.5 year old in for her first visit, and I'm not sure how all the stars aligned, but she had an AMAZING visit! No tears! From the get go, the staff was so welcoming and let her pick a movie, a toothbrush and a polish flavor. She did so well, and everyone was so kind. Dr. Steele was so kind and patient. We left feeling very positive about the dentist. No wonder I had so many people recommend Dr. Steele! Looking forward to our next visit.

Dr. Steele and her staff are amazing! From the moment we stepped in the door, our children were excited to be there. The office is perfect for families, and they were careful, thorough, and patient with all of us as it was our first visit. We're excited to go back in 6 months!

Dr. Steele and her team are exceptional! They are so patient and encouraging. My 3 yo was so nervous for his appointment but they explained every tiny thing they did and made it so fun for him. By the end of the appointment he was so much more comfortable with the whole process. I highly recommend Dr. Steele for all your pediatric dentistry needs!!

We called in advance before entering so there wouldn't be an overflow of patients. We felt safe the second we stepped into the building. A woman (who was wearing a mask that covered her mouth and nose) took our temperature as soon as we entered. We were then escorted to the front where everyone was wearing a mask that covered their mouth and nose. All the technicians/nurses were wearing N95 masks and face shields. They also wore gloves and changed them regularly. I felt safe and would recommend this place to anyone. Overall, I want to thank Dr. Linda Steele amd her staff for providing us with such a nice and safe environment.

We had a previous dental experience elsewhere about a year ago that left myself and my then 15 month old traumatized. I was nervous to take her back to the dentist, but am so glad we found Dr Steele. My sister recommended her and we were not disappointed. The staff were all very patient with my apprehensive 2 year old and worked hard to keep her happy, involved and interested the whole time. While she wasn't exactly "happy" to be there, she was all smiles and giggles by the time we left.

My daughter had her cleaning appointment today. The office was very proactive by calling a few days ahead to go over the new guidelines for coming into the office for the appointment. Overall we are happy and have no concerns with the practice. Dr Steele and her staff are amazing so I'm not surprised they are extremely careful and ready to reopen today.

Beautiful office, super friendly hygienists and staff. My daughter truly loved going to this practice. However, 6 months ago I was told my 4 year old daughter needed to have over 8 cavities filled and we would need to take her to the hospital and have her put under sedation. I was floored because we had just been seen by the dr for a treatment 2 months prior to this. In my mind putting a small child under anesthesia is a big decision. I told Dr. Steele we were cash patients (no insurance) and I would need to discuss it with my husband before moving forward. I felt very pressured and trapped, it felt like she didn't want me to leave without scheduling treatment. She made me feel like a bad mom saying things like "well I can only help you so much" (regarding pricing) and "this is important if they were your teeth you would get it done". We got a second opinion.... the new dentist found two cavities and some "spots to watch" he recommended no treatment. He wants to watch them closely and if they get bigger we will discuss options for treatment. Possibly a difference in philosophy but I am happier at the new practice. Even without the fancy movie theater.
