Dr. Kristen Blumberger disproves the biggest misconceptions about root canals daily: she conducts therapy that is quick and painless. Her passion for relieving pain and treating infection, and personable chair side manner equate to her motto: Patient care is just as important as clinical care.

Dr. Kristen Blumberger grew up in Little Silver, NJ where she resides today. A candidate for The Julliard School as a pianist, one of Dr. Blumbergers skillsets is hand dexterityan important attribute for an endodontist.

After receiving an academic scholarship for scholastic achievement, she graduated from Tulane University with a B.S. in Exercise Science, concentrating in Kinesiology. She went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, receiving both the Hunt and Merit scholarships for scholastic achievement. Post-dental school, Dr. Blumberger completed a one-year General Practice Residency at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan. From 2001 to 2005, she practiced general dentistry in New York City and served as an adjunct clinical instructor at NYU College of Dentistry. In 2004, she received the Appreciation Award for Dedication to the Advancement of NYU College of Dentistry from the Student National Dental Association.

Dr. Blumberger volunteered twice overseas while teaching at NYU College of Dentistry. In 2003, she set up dental clinics in underprivileged areas of the Dominican Republic. Most of the places either had no dentists or the population could not afford to go to one. Depending on generators for power, she rehabilitated hundreds of mouths. The following year, she went on another outreach trip to Jamaica, where she performed dental work in rural communities with a group from NYU College of Dentistry.

In 2005, Dr. Blumberger realized she had a desire to treat infection and relieve pain, which led her to completing a two-year post-graduate residency program in Endodontics at NYU College of Dentistry. During her residency she researched pain management and pain medications. She currently works as an endodontist in NYC and New Jersey, where her main focus is easing patients anxiety and performing painless root canals.

At home, Dr. Blumbergers three boys (Jack, Luke, and Dylan) and husband John keep her busy. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, playing tennis, sailing, reading, and she loves traveling. Her favorite place to visit is the Amalfi Coast of Italy.

The team at Lincroft Village Dental Care believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Lincroft Village Dental Care work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Lincroft area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Lincroft Village Dental Care can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

Skipping routine checkups from your dentist makes you more prone to developing cavities and other oral issues. Read on to learn some oral hygiene tips from a family dentist. It is essential to adopt an excellent oral hygiene routine daily to maintain strong, healthy teeth and gums.It is important not to slack on certain things,

Family dentists recommend keeping sugar consumption to a minimum, regardless of age. Sugar increases the risk of obesity, kidney disease, diabetes, and many other health conditions. It also increases the risk of developing oral issues like gum disease and tooth decay. The more sugar a person consumes regularly, the more likely they are to develop tooth

If you have ever had a bout of tooth pain, you already know how debilitating and inconvenient it can be. Also, the pain always seems to start so unexpectedly that getting immediate dental attention is not possible. Therefore, everyone needs to know the dental recommended care and treatment of tooth pain to get substantial relief.A

By visiting the dentist you can stay in excellent oral health. Our office is modern and comfortable, however, we know that the dentist office probably not your ideal spot for relaxing, reading magazines, and catching up on all the celebrity gossip. In fact, most people would prefer to avoid ever having to visit the dentist,

I started here about a year ago for both specialized services and cleanings, and just finished my 4th visit. This place is awesome. The ladies at the front desk have been consistently warm and welcoming. My assigned hygienist, Teresa, is gentle yet thorough, and she keeps track of my preferences and history when it comes to the cleanings. On top of that Dr. Dimperio has been able to address and fix all of my dental concerns from the initial consultation to each checkup. He is very kind and a great listener. Excellent care and service- highly recommend!
