Dr Mahi Sophia Mehr, the owner of Lincoln Shine Dental in Lincoln Park/Lakeview, is a General/Cosmetic Dentist and an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. She graduated with honors from Shahid Beheshti Dental School,one of the finest dental schools in the Middle East, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), in 2003. Next shebegan a threeyear residency program to further her dental education and, in addition to completing that program, she was awarded an assistant professorship at a dental school where she instructed students for two years.
Seeking new challenges and fresh opportunities, in 2010, Dr. Mahi moved to the United States where she entered the dental residency program at the University of Iowa. She completed her residency and earned a masters of Oral Science and Certificate of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2013. Following her residency, Dr. Mahi relocated to Illinois where she earned herState of Illinois dental license after completing,with distinction, the American Dental Board examinations.
Dr. Mahi is strongly committed to giving back to her community to ensure her patients dental health. Reflecting that commitment, she worked as a general dentist in a remote and under-served area ofsouthern Illinois for approximately twoyears. As the only dentist for miles aroundDr. Mahi gained invaluable experience in all aspects of dentistry during this time. Of equal or even greater importance she feltprivileged caring for patients who otherwise would have received no dental care.
She takes pride in treating her patients like family, with empathy and honesty, whilealways focusing on maintaining excellent relationships with them. Continuing education is extremely important to Dr. Mahi. She pursues several continuing education courses to ensure that she will alwaysprovide the most advanced treatment options for herpatients.
Dr. Mahi is actively involved in the dental community and became a diplomat of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2015. She is a lifetime member of the American Orthodontics Society and an active member of the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Mahi has published multiple research articles and books, as well.
In her leisure time Dr. Mahi enjoys movie-watching, reading, learning, and working out during her free time.She also enjoys painting and is an accomplished amateur artist. She displays her artwork in the office for patients to enjoy. Being an artist, she feels that dentistry is another form of art, your teeth are the canvas. She would like for her patients to know that her passion is expressed in her profession just like in her artwork. Perfection, excellence and beauty is her personal signature on every work she does.
