Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) is a pediatric hospital with a Level I Trauma Center, thats located in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is among the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States and serves children from birth to age 21. ACH is affiliated with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is a teaching hospital with the UAMS College of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics.
ACH staff consists of more than 505 physicians, 200 residents, and 4,400 support staff. The hospital includes 336 beds and offers three intensive care units. The campus spans 36 city blocks and has a floor space of over 2,000,000 square feet.
The 200,000 children of Northwest Arkansas now have quick, easy access to comprehensive pediatric medical care 24/7 at Arkansas Childrens Northwest (ACNW), the regions first and only childrens hospital and pediatric emergency room. This milestone marks the first time that pediatric emergency medical services have been available where Northwest Arkansas children live, learn and play. Arkansas Childrens Research Institute (ACRI) is a free-standing pediatric research center on the ACH campus. The center is designed to help faculty members from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences investigate disease development and treatment in infants, children, and adolescents. Physician and biomedical scientist investigators at ACRI and the Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center (ACNC) research clinical, basic science, and health services to learn how to treat and prevent illnesses and diseases in children.
The Arkansas Childrens Care Network (ACCN) is changing how children across Arkansas get health care. ACCN connects all doctors treating the same child. That includes a childs main doctor and any specialists. They work together to give the best care.
A dynamic leader, Marcy is focused on improved child health by advancing patient care, building community and championing excellence through digital transformation, engaged and efficient partnerships and bold child advocacy.
Under Marcys leadership, Arkansas Childrens transformed from one hospital into a health system, with two hospitals, a research institute, a philanthropic foundation, regional clinics and alliances, telemedicine and statewide outreach programs. She has led the organization with an unwavering focus on the core values of safety, teamwork, compassion and excellence.
Prior to her role at Arkansas Children's, she served as a member of senior leadership for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System in various capacities since 2002. Doderer became administrator for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Childrens Hospital in 2008 and led the effort to transform the facility into the free standing Childrens Hospital of San Antonio. Her previous leadership experience includes positions at CHRISTUS St. Josephs Health System and McCuistion Regional Medical Center, both in Paris, Texas, and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Dallas, Texas.
Marcy is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE) and active in many professional organizations. She serves as the Chair of the Childrens Hospital Solutions for Patient Safety Board of Directors and the Immediate Past Chair of the Children's Hospital Association Board of Directors. She is also a member of the American Hospital Associations The Changing Workforce Task Force. Within Arkansas, Marcy is a member of Fifty for the Future and sits on the board of Healthy Active Arkansas.
Marcy has been recognized for her leadership both at the local and national level, including being named one of Modern Healthcares Top 25 Women Leaders in 2021. She was named Woman of the Year in 2020 by Women & Children First and Woman of the Year in Business in 2018 by the Womens Foundation of Arkansas.
The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards, following a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications (Radiologist and technologist), adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed.
ACR Accreditation is a self-assessment and peer review process focused on diagnostic image quality, staff qualifications, policies, protocols, equipment, and therapeutic treatment. It allows facilities to set and surpass industry-accepted quality standards for patient care and includes recommendations for improvement.
The ACH Pediatric Sedation Unit was recently designated a Center of Excellence in Pediatric Sedation by the Society for Pediatric Sedation (SPS). This designation is currently held by 10 childrens hospitals nationwide for meeting or exceeding the highest quality standards of the SPS. Congratulations to Dr. Abdallah Dalabih, Dana Thomas and the entire Pediatric Sedation Team for this achievement.
Arkansas Children's and Dr. Veerapandiyan hold the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association Center of Excellence distinction. One of the CMTAs primary missions is improving the quality of life for those with CMT and one way the organization accomplishes this mission is by identifying patient-centric, multi-disciplinary CMT clinics, staffed by some of the highest quality neuromuscular clinicians and researchers in the world. Through these CMTA Centers of Excellence, children, adults and families affected by CMT can be assured of receiving comprehensive care by a team of CMT experts.
The designated COEs demonstrate strengths in providing excellence in clinical care and research and will collaborate with HNF to expand their role as CMT/IN patient community hubs for clinical care, community engagement, research, and training/education.
