Dr. Pooyan Refahi had spent majority his life in Washington DC Metropolitan. Upon graduating high school in Northern Virginia he obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree from George Mason University and a Masters of Science Degree in Biomedical Science Policy and Advocacy from Georgetown University. Upon completion of his Masters, he started his dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

Professional and focused, yet light-hearted, Mary is the quintessential dental assistant. She has worked in general dentistry for over twenty years and has specialized in periodontal care with Dr. Lightfoot since 2005. I have confidence in what Scott can do for his patients, she said, the all-business side of her personality kicking in.

Involved in all patients treatments and scrupulous about their well-being, she is always available to answer questions and offer knowledgeable recommendations. She enjoys helping patients understand their treatment and making sure they are comfortable.

A dedicated reader of non-fiction and a long-time quilter, Mary lightens up watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, indulging in chocolate, and relaxing with her toes in the sand on Mayflower Beach in Dennis. Trips to the Grand Canyon and Sedona are on her bucket list. Her sage advice: Butter makes everything better.

Friendly and soft-spoken, Debbie is the voice of the front office. She strives to meet the needs of all patients and make every visit comfortable and stress-free. Although she has been employed in dentists offices for over twenty years, she considers Dr. Lightfoots practice special. Its enjoyable to come to work. Our team has a strong rapport with each other and with the patients.

The mother of three grown children and the Gigi to two grandchildren, Debbie runs daily and exercises faithfully. She has kept a runners journal throughout her adult life, noting that shes slowed down over the years, but her youthful appearance and abundant energy would defy that description.

Sarah enjoys helping people and has made that her professional goal. I like having a personal relationship with people throughout their treatment. I want to make what can be a sensitive time easier for them. Sarah is a Certified Dental Assistant who attended Rockland High School and the Porter and Chester Institute for Dental Assisting. She enjoys the outdoors and nature in any form. She and her husband love exploring new areas together, especially when it involves walking their dog.

Dental Hygienist Sheila likes the modern, state-of-the-art office of Dr. Lightfoot where she is part of a friendly and fun team. I like working with people and helping them. Sheila attended Marshfield High School and Cape Cod Community College. She specializes in perio-maintenance and oral screening. When not cooking and doing laundry for her two teenaged sons, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, and practicing yoga.

Raised in Ohio, Dr. Lightfoot attended The Ohio State University where he received his Post-Doctoral Degree in Periodontics, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition, a Master of Arts Degree in Exercise Physiology, and a Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology. He served as Chief Resident during his final year of his periodontal residency.

Following his training, he practiced in Ohio before moving to the Boston area in 2005. Establishing offices in Hingham and Norwood, MA after working for nine years as a periodontist on the South Shore, Dr. Lightfoot has extensive experience. I offer world class care in a local site. Dr. Lightfoot and his team put their patients best interests first. They use the highest quality products, never cutting corners. We have the best possible small practice. His state-of-the-art office allows for a pleasant patient experience and his warm, friendly manner allows for maximum communication between doctor and patient.

Dr. Lightfoot, a life-long learner and educator, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He also lectures nationally and locally on periodontal care, dental implants, disease and treatment. Dr. Lightfoot is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology and is licensed LANAP surgeon trained to provide true regeneration.

Married with two sons, Dr. Lightfoot is an avid baseball fan. He enjoys reading Louise Penny mysteries and Jack Reacher thrillers. Interesting fact: The men in his family are all named William. His grandfather was William Jacob; his father (an orthodontist) is William John; he is William Scott. His wifes father is William Joseph. His first-born son is William Jacob, and his second-born son is William Joseph.

Dr. Refahi was able to complete many of his passions during his pre-doctoral training at Tufts, excelling as a dental clinician and patient focused care along with enhancing his academic experiences with both national and local outreach in the American Dental Education Association, American Student Dental Association. Following the completion his DMD degree he remained at Tufts and obtained his Advanced Education in Periodontology Certificate along with a certification in IV sedation and has become a board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant surgery.

Although Dr. Refahis primary focus is practice based patient care, he still maintains a strong relationship with the Tufts University as a faculty member in the Periodontology department. Currently he is working with a team in developing an individualized patient based pre-clinical surgical simulation program for implant training, as well as, evaluating the accuracy of implant placement using dynamic navigation technologies.

Dr. Refahi is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS). Dr. Refahi is truly committed to his patients and is dedicated in providing them with the best possible experience and treatment through a collaborative inter-disciplinary approach with referring practitioners.
