A native of Mesa, Dr. Spurling graduated as Regents Scholar from Mountain View High School and earned a Bachelors degree Magna Cum Laude in Biochemistry from Arizona State University. Earning a scholarship to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, he graduated at the top of the class with his doctorate. Dr. Spurling went on to receive an officers commission and trained under leading specialists in the United States Air Force Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. He served during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and maintains his commission in the United States Air Force Reserve.
Since entering civilian practice in Arizona, Dr. Spurling has stayed on the cutting edge of rapidly evolving dental research and technology. His commitment to dental excellence for his patients has earned him associate fellowship status from the World Clinical Laser Institute and fellowship status in the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the California Implant Institute. During a mercy mission to the Dominican Republic, Dr. Spurling met his wife, Viviana, who served as an interpreter for the ministry. Today Dr. Spurling and Viviana live in Mesa with two boys, Luke and Christopher. He finds balance in his professional pursuits as a teacher at his church and a dedicated father and husband.
Cynthia Saabedra was born and raised in Phoenix, Az. She has been a dental assistant for three years and is currently in school to earn a bachelors degree in dental hygiene. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, take road trips and explore new places.
Kamiko is from Northern Arizona. She has been in the dental field for seven years. Kamiko enjoys traveling from state to state and, of course, internationally. In her spare time, she will fly her drone, and record and edit her adventure videos. She is a foodie at heart, and loves spending time with friends and family, keeping them laughing and on their toes.
Lead Dental Assistant Viviana Spurling, grew up in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She served her churchs ministry in the drama team, teaching childrens Sunday school and working with American missionaries in building, medical and evangelism projects as an English/Spanish interpreter. Viviana immigrated to the United States and pursued studies in interior design and dental assisting. Her passion for helping people has led her to join her husband in providing excellence in dental care for the people of the East Valley. Viviana enjoys time with her sons, Luke and Christopher, and her daughter, Emilia.

My 80-year-old, lifelong dental phobic father came to Light Touch Dental by way of an emergency situation. He was able to get an appointment quickly. And, from that point on, Dr. Spurling and his team mobilized with efficiency and compassion. My father immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Spurling -- and this is after years of not being able to get him to go to a dentist at all, thanks to some dental trauma as a kid. From X-rays (which, before, he could not tolerate) to full-blown surgery with anesthesia to repairing the emergency situation with crowns and an implant to follow up appointments, my father is a new guy! He goes there with a smile on his face; comes back and says he got through each step with no fear and no pain; and, most importantly, he has a whole new outlook on his very life. He can eat so much better. He smiles so much more. And, I can tell how proud he is that, at 80, he's conquering his literal biggest fear. I owe this all to the skillful and kind Dr. Spurling (who has a pretty cool military background, too!) and friendly, resourceful office manager Lisa, who could not have made this an easier process. I will never forget when Dr. Spurling said he would treat my dad as if he were his own. That meant everything to us. I can highly -- HIGHLY -- recommend Light Touch as the best dental experience I have ever been involved with. In fact, I am planning to switch from my current dentist to Dr. Spurling and Light Touch.

The staff made me feel very comfortable and taken care of, from the receptionist to the Dr . They were very professional in everything they did. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone needing dental work.

They botched my crowns and I had to have someone else pull them to replace them with implants all for a massive cost to me so I don't recommend them

I was a new patient to the practice. Dr. Spurling and his staff are very kind and compassionate. They do have a New Manager who takes the time to get your insurance breakdown so you pay accurate bills, the Dr. and his staff use the latest in dentistry supplies and equipment. Definitely the best dental visit I have had and would recommend giving them a try.

I called in and scheduled an appointment with the days given to choose from I picked the one that would be on my day off the morning following I received 2 calls 1 voicemail asking if I'd like to come in because they had availability I found this odd due to the fact I let the person scheduling know I needed to do it on the set day as it is my only off day. The following day the day of the appointment I wake up to an automated text message that my appointment was cancelled. If you have a schedule to stick to this is likely not the dentist for you nor if you like the decency of being told there was an issue rather than being called to reschedule and pulled the rug out the next day.

I have had a long period of dealing with a root canal from previous dentists and after the 4th time getting one done on the same tooth, I switched dentist and Dr Spurling recommended taking care of it the right way. We pulled it and at the same time removed wisdom teeth in one go. He did a bone graph that same day and later did the implant on the tooth and explained the tools and how everything works, (since I'm curious) Now I have no pain or deterioration and I don't even notice the tooth. The staff are very accommodating and answer any questions about payments and insurance etc. The place is clean and very up to date in technology and far from a old outdated dentist doing old operations. Highly recommend them.

I have high anxiety when it comes to the dentist and as a result I neglected my dental work until push came to shove. The entire staff at Light Touch took a genuine interest to make sure I got back on the right track. I needed some major work, but I can honestly say it was the easiest dental procedure I've ever experienced. They worked with my insurance to make it as easy as possible and made sure I was at ease before going forward with any procedures. I cannot recommend them enough.

I visited Light Touch and Dr Spurling about a month ago for a complete evaluation of my oral and dental health. After the exam, he provided a detailed treatment plan for future visits. I began the process with a dental cleaning with Heather this week and am so impressed with her knowledge, professionalism and her focus on my comfort and well being. The office staff is second to none and the facility is state of the art and impeccably maintained. If you are in need of quality dental/oral care, this is the place to go. Kudos to the entire staff.

This place is amazing! From the moment I called and spoke with Yolanda, she was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful at accommodating me. When I went in, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I felt like I was a part of their "Dental Family" within the first 10 minutes! Will definitely be back and tell everyone I know!

Dr. Spurling and the entire staff at Light Touch Dental are caring professionals. Everything is explained in detail. The atmosphere is calming. Due to some medical issues, I have some special requests and they do all that they can to accommodate me and make me comfortable. I highly recommend this dental practice.

I LOVE these folks! Dental care is not fun nor cheap. The courtesy, professionalism and FRIENDLINESS exhibited make the process as comfortable as 'going to the dentist' can be. My wife had recently had substantial work done with Light Touch. We could have gone anywhere but they really made her comfortable. And if my WIFE is comfortable; well, so am I! There was no question where I would get MY work done. I called Light Touch. WONDERFUL people!!
