Dr. Carolyn Light was raised in Northern California on the Monterey Peninsula. She attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 1976. Dr. Light then attended Case Western Reserve University, School of Dentistry. She graduated in 1980 and received the award for outstanding achievement in the area of oral medicine.
Dr. Light has been practicing dentistry in Southern California since 1980. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Orange County Dental Society. She has volunteered her services to the Orange County Health Care Agency in its Childrens Dental Clinic and was previously on staff in the dental clinic on the campus of UCI for its faculty, staff, and students.

Dr Light and her staff are amazing. She has the lightest touch and so very thorough. I am so glad that I went to see her. She is punctual and I was not left waiting in the room for any time. I have severe dentist anxiety and she and her staff made sure I was very comfortable before anything was started. I can't express how much I appreciate her and her staff !

I went in with a terrible tooth ache. She numbed the tooth and immediately started to work on it, not giving it even one minute to work. I was nearly screaming with pain, tears were flowing down my cheeks and she just kept scrubbing it with her sharp tool. She diagnosed me with gum inflammation and prescribed 10 days of antibiotics?! She suggested I take a combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen for pain even though I had explained that I am not allowed to take ibuprofen. Next day I was still in unbearable pain and I called her for pain medication. She suggested to rub Orajel on my tooth. It did not help. She refused further help.

My visits with Dr. Light are fast and thorough. I tend to run late but I make sure to get to my appointments on time because she is always ready for me. Don't count on getting relaxing time in the waiting room. Overall, she and her staff are great!

Best dentist we ever had: no waiting, thorough and gentle with highly professional consultation to save teeth. She even makes time outside of her schedule when we are worried. Our family flies in to get her help if needed.

She repeatedly refused to offer me any cosmetic procedures which I had requested over a 5 year period. I finally realized it was because she wasn't qualified at the time. She also has a terrible bedside manner.

She is Honest, conservative, thorough, on time, up on technology....20 yr patient, drive 84 miles. She didn't recommend redoing all of my fillings and crowning half of my teeth like other dentists. I love that Dr. Light does her own cleanings because she is very thorough and can use an ultrasonic scaling machine that cuts down most of the hand scraping which wears your teeth down faster along with my FAVORITE jet machine that uses baking soda to polish and flush out my gums and OH WOW do my teeth feel awesome!! An assistant is needed to suck up the water so probably why hygienists don't use them. Always on time and efficient in and out 30 minutes. The girls are friendly were helpful with my insurance coverage and billing. 5 stars!! Patient for 20 years drive
