Skokie dentist, Dr. Richard Schmidt has committed his career to providing the most advanced treatment for his patients. He treats children, adults, and senior citizens. He is dedicated to learning new techniques to keep his patients healthy and smiling. He is an active member in the prestigious Seattle Study Club where he joins other dentists in learning the most advanced treatment techniques. This provides him with the opportunity to learn directly from the leaders in dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, The Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society.
In 1988, Dr. Schmidtgraduated from the University Of Illinois College Of Dentistry. Upon completion of his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, he joined Illinois Masonic Hospital as a General Practice Resident. He was invited to become the Chief Dental Resident the following year where he not only honed his skills but was responsible for mentoring the other residents. When he finished his residency he worked as an associate before settling down in his own practice.
Practicing in Skokie for the past 30 years, Dr. Schmidt has made his mark as a caring compassionate dentist that always has his patients best interest at heart. Along with his passion for dentistry, Dr. Schmidt enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He likes all sports especially tennis, skiing, and golf.
After 55 years of practicing dentistry. I am retiring from a profession that has been my passion and that has never felt the work. My wife called it my hobby, I have always worked to the best of my ability and have treated everyone as family. I have become very close to many of you and will miss you and you may miss my stories and jokes. Some families I have treated for four generations.
The efficiency of managing my office was due to the excellent skills of Doris Shapiro Doris will be the new office manager of Dr. Schmidts practice, so you will recognize her voice when you call there. After 30 years of working with Doris, who is like another daughter to me, I will miss her. I will also miss all the relationships I have built with patients, other doctors and their stats, laboratory professionals, and people see every day at my office.

Dr Schmidt has been in practice for many years now at his Skokie office. I was overwhelmed at my first visit how organized he is. He is top notch, skillful, and above all, very personable. He has acquired a great staff of hygienists, assistants, and an efficient and friendly front office. Centrally located in Skokie across from Old Orchard. If you're looking for a dental practice whose priority is the patient, this is it.

If you have any fears when you need to see the dentist then call Dr. Schmidt's office. You know a dentist is good when another one that's retiring tells you to go see this guy. The entire office staff are professional, friendly and will do their best to accommodate you. Josephina the dental assistant ( who's been there quite a few years) makes you feel comfortable as soon as you enter the room and she works skillfully with the doctor. As for DR. SCHMIDT HE IS THE BEST!!! I just had to have my 4 tooth bridge on the top front replaced as the old one was 25 years old and starting to crumble away. I never felt a single moment of pain including all the shots to numb my mouth. He had explained to me on a previous visit what I needed, that it would take about 2 hours and that I would leave the office with temporary teeth. He was correct about everything he had told me. My sister was the one who recommended Dr. Schmidt to me. She worked with oral surgeons years ago and knows a good dentist when she sees one. If you need anything from cleaning to implants this is the place you should go. I promise you won't regret it. I recently had a lower partial made and it is beautiful. The lab Dr Schmidt uses is really good. I won't go anywhere else I have "THE BEST" so no need
