LifeTime Dental - General dentist in Tavares, FL

Dr. Forrester was born and raised in Colombia until she was 14 years old. Her family then decided to make the move to the United States. They settled down in Clearwater- Florida, where she began attending high school and started learning English. This was quite the task as she had only spoken Spanish her entire life, up until that point.

Dr. Forrester attended the University of South Florida where she received her bachelors degree in biology. She then went on to attend Nova Southeastern University where she earned her dental degree. Her philosophy on dentistry is built around the importance of patient education on oral health and building relationships with her patients through listening and connecting to them individually on a personal level.

Straightening teeth can be beneficial for more than just the overall appearance of one's teeth. By straightening teeth, patients also gain health benefits from teeth that do not have as many places to trap food in them as crooked teeth. However, many patients do not prefer the obvious and cumbersome metal braces that they have to wear in order to straighten their teeth.

Fortunately, we offer clear aligners as an alternative to braces that are just as effective. Patients will be able to benefit from wearing clear aligners while also straightening their teeth in a discreet manner. Clear aligners are an efficient alternative to traditional braces. Here are a few key factors that people need to understand about clear aligners.

Clear aligners are the preferable choice for many patients since they are removable and are not obvious to other people. The clear aligners come in a set, with each aligner being at a different position that gradually pushes the teeth into the proper position.

The aligners consist of a clear plastic material that does not change the color of the teeth and will only be noticeable when the wearer tells someone to look at the teeth up close. With the discreet appearance, patients will not need to feel self-conscious about wearing clear aligners.

Before patients begin the process, we will need to take molds and measurements of the patient's teeth. We will then send this data to the lab and measure out the treatment plan. For the treatment plan, the patient will wear different clear aligners every two weeks or so and move onto the next pair. With this process, the patient will only feel pain for the first day or so and will have straight teeth before they know it.

Clear aligners are also removable but need to stay in the patient's mouth for at least 22 hours a day. If the patient needs to remove the aligners to eat or to play a sports game, then he or she just needs to place them back in as soon as possible. When eating, patients will remove the aligners and return them to the mouth once they finish eating and clean their mouth out. People may also remove the aligners for an important meeting, presentation, date or to take photos. Below are a few factors that patients need to keep in mind when they are wearing clear aligners.

Clear aligners are not always the best treatment for children or children in their early teens. Since clear aligners require more responsibility to care for, children are not always responsible enough to take proper care of them. In many cases, a child may remove the clear aligners for lunch and then throw them out with the lunch bag by accident.

The child may also have trouble remembering to remove the aligners to brush his or her actual teeth each night and then replace the aligners. Since they require more care, we recommend that children stick to braces until they are more responsible.

While clear aligners are great for being a discreet straightening option, patients need to clean their teeth after each meal before placing the aligners back in. Patients remove the clear aligners to eat or drink and then must replace the aligners.

However, if one does not clean his or her teeth before replacing the aligners, then there is a good chance that the food will be visible in the aligners. Thus, we recommend that patients strive to brush or at least rinse the mouth with water after every meal.

While clear aligners are removable and the patient needs to take them out for certain situations, the patient needs to put them back in fairly quickly. With braces, the patient does not have the option to remove them and does not interrupt the overall straightening process. However, removing the aligners for too long can cause the teeth to begin to return to their old position.

The longer a patient removes the clear aligners for, the longer the treatment can take overall. Therefore, it is best to only remove the clear aligners for a certain amount of time before returning them to the mouth.

Many people today choose Invisalign aligners as a way to straighten the teeth easily and comfortably. According to a recent report from Psychology Today, a smile is one of the most important ways to show confidence in modern society. However, if the smile is made of overcrowded teeth, this can lead to a drop in

Invisalign has grown in popularity because of the benefits that it offers, and a lot of people are wondering what it can really do for them. There are a few different types of aligners that exist for straightening the teeth but opting for Invisalign has become more popular because of the benefits that come along with

Be prepared to WAIT a VERY LONG TIME. Great dental office but way overbooked. I went for an exam that took 4 months of waiting and scheduled a follow up cleaning. As happens my employer wants me to travel next week so I called to rebook my cleaning and the soonest that was available is THREE (3) MONTHS from now. This is a cleaning with a hygienist only. I do not understand why they even take new patients if they are so overbooked that there is no flexibility. I know that they recently added another dentist but apparently they need to add support personnel and work shifts, or stop taking new patients since they are unable to service existing patients within reasonable time frames.

It gets no better in the dentist chair than here!! I have to say I was apprehensive about continuing to drive 1 hour each way after Dr Chuck that I've seen for over 30 years deservingly retired. In my mind no dentist could match his passion and chair side expertise. Ok, I admit I'm a big dentist chair wimp! What was I thinking? Dr Chuck would have only placed his patients with a Dr with matching passion and skill. I have had both Dr Judy and Dr Nellie work on my teeth. Both Drs are equally as gentle, kind and passionate as Dr Chuck is. My one hour one way drive is a small investment in staying a patient at Lifetime Dental. Thank you both and Melissa the hygienist for putting up with me See you again soon. Rick

Had been a patient of Dr Chuck and his teams for nearly 30 years and really loved the care and compassion given by them. So I did not know what to expect now he has retired. Went for a cleaning/inspection Sept 15th, 2022 and it transpired I needed a deep cleaning on twelve teeth. Went to get the right side of the mouth done this morning, 19th Sept, 2022 (six teeth). Wow! Melissa, who had never worked on my teeth before was an absolute gentle Angel. For comfort my teeth needed numbing but I told her I hated injections. Immediately Melissa suggested we could try a system which uses a needle but is not injected into the skin. Instead it goes just under the gum line of the teeth that need to be worked on. Didn't feel anything that to any degree could be called uncomfortable! Melissa was so thorough, taking an hour to deep clean just the right hand side of my mouth. I go back in a few weeks (unless a cancellation time becomes available) for the left hand side to be done. I have to say, at 76 years old, as someone who has had regular "cleanings", not necessarily deep cleanings, for 50 years, I have never had such a pleasant experience in the dentist's chair.

I was very pleased with the visit, they explained everything and they helped me with my dry mouth problem from head and neck cancer by letting me try a treatment that I did not know about that has done wonderers for my dry mouth (VEGA ORAL CARE). They were very good at getting me an appointment for extraction of a tooth as soon as possible that has needed attention. The have provided me with a treatment plan moving forward that was needed and the price is very good. The staff was very helpful and the Dentist took the time to explain in detail what is necessary and why. This has been the best Dental visit I have had in many a year and I am looking forward to having them evaluate my needs for dental health. I would recommend this office to all my friends in fact it was a very dear friend that recommended that I use this office and it was the best thing for my dental health in a very long time.
