Laser dentistry allows Dr. Geisler to do more comfortable procedures, with better healing results. Dr. Geisler uses the LightScalpel Co2 laser for soft tissue procedures. Common procedures that are performed are frenectomies (aka frenulectomy)for infants, children and adults. Releasing tongue ties and lip ties is important for many reasons.The following are some but not all of the benefits: improved nursing, improved speech, swallowing, and oral/facial growth and development, preventing orthodontic and recession problems. Also common uses of soft tissue lasers are gingival recontouring,fibroma removals, treatment of herpes lesions (cold sores)and canker sores. Do you have a tooth that is super sensitive to touch or cold? A simple treatment with the laser can reduce the pain in your sensitive teeth. We also are able to serve our patients with a second laser, known as a low level laser therapy (also known as a cold laser, photobiostimulation, photobiomodulation, PBM or LLLT) at the 808 nm wavelength. It looks more like a flashlight than anything else and it you cannot even feel it. This laser wavelength reduces chance of post treatment discomfort in your gums, teeth, in extraction sites. Prior to commencing treatment for head and neck cancer, the new standard of care is using laser therapy to prevent a painful and common side effect. Oral mucositis results in ulcers in the mouth and on lips which makes drinking and eating very difficult. Even if therapy didn't start prior to oncology treatment, this laser treatment can speed healing and reduce pain. In addition, using a laser can improve your numbing experience by accelerating both the anesthetics onset and disappearance.This laser can even treat sore TMJ muscles, allowing your body to heal itself. Using a laser usually reduces the need for pain medication after involved treatments.For people with sensitive gag reflexes, a laser can be used to reduce gagging. Dr. Geisler has successfully completed Standard Proficiency Dental Laser Certification through the ALD and also the Advanced Laser Certification for the Gemini soft tissue laser.
Digital scanners capture a 3D image of your teeth, so traditional impressions don't need to be taken. Accuracy of the dental restoration is improved, as is the speed of which your crowns return from the lab. Clear aligners for invisable orthodontics is much easier to start without the need to for impression trays. Patients love it because they don't have to have goopy material in their mouths for a few minutes. Seeing your mouth in color and in three dimensions on a computer screen is also very interesting, showing people things they would otherwise not be able to appreciate. Dr. Geisler uses a 3Shape Trios scanner, the fastest and most accurate scanner for dentists.
Many find it helpful to watch a video that clarifies oral conditions and dental procedures. Dr. Geisler is involved in a continuing education group, called a Spear Study Club. I have nothing but positive things to say about Life Smiles. My concerns were listened to and I was throughly explain everything! I left feeling more educated. It was reassuring to build a quick rapport and I felt comfortable leaving my 9 day old in the hands of Dr. Geisler and her tech to get his revisions done.

We had my daughter's tongue tie release with Dr. Geisler. As a fellow dentist, there is not another office in the state that I would entrust to perform this procedure. I am familiar with Dr. Geisler's training and experience, and I knew she would do a thorough evaluation and give a trustworthy recommendation as to how to best treat my baby. The fact that she requires lactation support and bodywork prior to and after release gives further credibility to her expertise. We had great interactions with all the staff and felt well-prepared for the release and the aftercare. Everything went very smoothly during what can be a stressful experience for new parents. The receptionists and dental assistants were great. However I did not appreciate some comments made by Dr. Krista during the assessment which was a factor in me deciding against moving forward with the lip tie release she recommended for my 3 month old daughter.

I am giving three stars because of my negative experiences with the staff members who manage scheduling and financing. I was late arriving to my first appointment and prior to arriving to the clinic asked the receptionist if I should reschedule. She said no come on in so I rushed in and filled out the paperwork. only after I completed it was told by the scheduler that I would have to reschedule in a very abrupt and confrontational manner. After I met with the dentist I was told to schedule a follow up appointment so was talking to the financial manager. She proceeded to ask me to pay my entire bill upfront since my daughter isn't on our insurance yet. I was shocked and told her I was not informed that I needed to pay upfront. She responded, "yes, you were, and it was in the email you were sent" in a very confrontational/defensive manner. I found her response to be very argumentative and offensive. I have no recollection of being told I needed to pay for the procedure up front and I am certain I would remember being told that since I am dealing with several medical bills at the moment. I found it very unpleasant being insufficiently informed about needing to pay upfront prior to the appointment time. My experience with the receptionist and dental technician regarding patient education was fantastic and much appreciated. However I was told a couple of times that I would be given paperwork containing post-op instructions, I was not given paperwork so I had to call to be emailed the information. I realized later that the post-op information had been buried at the bottom of a prior extremely long email. I have never had such a split experience attaining medical care for my child before. I absolutely loved and appreciated the time that the receptionist took to tell me what to expect for my daughters appointment. I really appreciated the dentist's attention to detail and the face to face patient education I received from the dental technician. However I was very frustrated and offended by my interactions with the person handling finances and the person who handled rescheduling my daughter's appointment.

Was visiting this clinic location for issues with my seven week old Breastfeeding and her latching. I had received other opinions where they didn't believe that she had any tongue or lip ties and I did find out that she actually does have a tie in five spots. So very excited that we came to the right place and got a good diagnosis and hoping to get that revised. The doctor and dental assistant Explained everything in detail, took their time helping us understand M gave us a realistic picture of what postop would look like!

Very knowledgeable. Appreciated all of her point of views. Very clearly experienced in what she does. I've been doing my research on lip and tongue tie revisions for a while and have seen a few different professionals regarding this and which routes to take! I've had multiple calls to multiple places but a few of my very trusted people led me to Dr. Geisler.

We scheduled a tongue tie revision for our son after working with our personal pediatrician, chiropractor, and lactation specialist. They accepted, then called my wife the day of and canceled it because we have to work with their in-house lactation specialist. I don't understand why the appointment was accepted, why they let us spend money to work with a chiropractor per their request, then cancel day of. Super frustrating.

I travel all over North America and I always come back to Life Smiles in Plymouth, MN -- they're simply the best. Thia and Dr. Gisler both have phenomenal skills. I had really, really bad teeth and now they look flat out amazing. They are also super friendly, genuine, easy-going people. I look forward to each visit when I can see them again.

I have nothing by the highest regard for Dr. Geisler and her staff. The great service starts the moment you walk in the door. The office staff, hygienists and assistants are the best. Dr. Giesler is very talented dentist and I trust that she and her staff are working with my best interests in mind.

Bad customer service. I work on call and had an emergency I had to attend to at work before my appointment. I called the second they opened at 8am to inform the office staff that I couldn't make it to the appointment and was greeted with a rude response about calling in 48 hours prior. I understand that but apparently they don't understand other people's circumstances that are out of their control; nor do they care for their customers' experiences because I had rescheduled the appointment for a few weeks later and they decided to call me and cancel because they weren't happy about me cancelling my first appointment. Is this how they treat everyone who has an emergency? I rarely miss appointments and have never been treated in that way so I was shocked. Not professional at all. EDIT: Don't be fooled by the owners response. At no point were they respectful or considerate of the situation. No respectable business would call to schedule another appointment and then change their mind to follow up with a cancellation call two weeks later, petty. Don't waste your time.
