Dr. Richard DelVecchio was born and raised in Connecticut, growing up outside Hartford in Vernon where his parents both still reside. Dr. DelVecchio and his three siblings grew up with a strong appreciation for dentistry as their father owned a successful Periodontal practice.
After obtaining his BAS in Biology and Psychology from the University of Delaware, Richard went on to receive his Dental Degree from NYU where he was involved in numerous leadership roles including Class President, the Student Ethics Board, as well as the Student Council. After graduation, Dr. DelVecchio completed a two-year General Practice Residency at St. Marys Hospital, an affiliate of Yale, where he gained valuable experience in all facets of dentistry as well as Operating and Emergency Room rotations.
Dr. DelVecchio has been a continued volunteer in numerous dental outreach programs including Give Kids a Smile and the annual Mission of Mercy free annual dental clinics throughout Connecticut. He has also had the privilege of serving as the Dental Director of the New Haven School Smile program since its inception in June 2015.
In his free time, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and his three dogs, as well as keeping active by running, swimming, playing golf or tennis and jet skiing. He also loves to read, travel, and fulfill his love of history by visiting museums. Dr. DelVecchio is very excited to be joining the Colchester Team and will continue to build relationships based on trust, community, and premier care already established by Dr. Batchelder. He looks forward to meeting all our wonderful patients here at Life Long Dental Care and taking care of all of your dental needs!

Never judge a book by its cover. Although seemingly outdated on the outside they clearly put their money in the folks working there and it shows! I had a change of insurance and had to leave the dentist that I've been going to for the past year that I really liked. I just moved here from New York a bit over a year ago. Of course when my insurance changed I didn't jump on the ball to get a dentist right away until I had a problem. Mm hmm I know I'm not the only one. I called on a Friday afternoon and they got me in on a Monday morning even though they were booking out until February. They greeted me very warmly and they were very kind. I have a path to resolution and that's all I can ask for. I definitely would recommend this place.

Even though they are not pediatric specialists, they are very kid friendly and made my kid's first dental visit feel safe and not at all scary.

Everyone here is always great. Sue is a great hygienist and very thorough and careful. Dr. Martinez also does a thorough check after the cleaning. Office staff is great, too. Very friendly and helpful.

After trying a few local dentists and not liking any I found Long Life Dental. From day 1 I liked every aspect of the place. They have been my dentist for years now. I can't begin to find a complaint with them. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Equipment and technology used is top notch. I could not ask for more.

Every one I have worked with in this office is nothing but kind and courteous. The front desk staff, the dental assistant and Dr. Martinez are all very nice and certainly knowledgeable about dentistry. I would recommend them to anyone.

First dental visit in a while, and WOW! All staff are courteous, friendly, and very knowledgeable and professional. I am a dental Nervous Nellie, and staff heard and respected my concerns. As a result, the appointment (repair broken tooth) was not stressful. Tolland Life Long Dental Care will now have me for life!

Competent and friendly service. I have been coming here for many years, and have never been disappointed. They always explain what they are going to do, and they stand by their work. I have now had them install a tooth on a new dental implant. They took the time to make sure that everything fit properly.
