Dr. Richard DelVecchio was born and raised in Connecticut, growing up outside Hartford in Vernon where his parents both still reside. Dr. DelVecchio and his three siblings grew up with a strong appreciation for dentistry as their father owned a successful Periodontal practice.
After obtaining his BAS in Biology and Psychology from the University of Delaware, Richard went on to receive his Dental Degree from NYU where he was involved in numerous leadership roles including Class President, the Student Ethics Board, as well as the Student Council. After graduation, Dr. DelVecchio completed a two-year General Practice Residency at St. Marys Hospital, an affiliate of Yale, where he gained valuable experience in all facets of dentistry as well as Operating and Emergency Room rotations.
Dr. DelVecchio has been a continued volunteer in numerous dental outreach programs including Give Kids a Smile and the annual Mission of Mercy free annual dental clinics throughout Connecticut. He has also had the privilege of serving as the Dental Director of the New Haven School Smile program since its inception in June 2015.
In his free time, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and his three dogs, as well as keeping active by running, swimming, playing golf or tennis and jet skiing. He also loves to read, travel, and fulfill his love of history by visiting museums. Dr. DelVecchio is very excited to be joining the Colchester Team and will continue to build relationships based on trust, community, and premier care already established by Dr. Batchelder. He looks forward to meeting all our wonderful patients here at Life Long Dental Care and taking care of all of your dental needs!

Service was excellent, did a good job but did not explain the charges before they do the job, I have a insurance with 0 copay and they charged me $72.48 people make sure to clear this before the service.

I have been to Life Long Dental in Ridgefield three times in the last few months and am so impressed with the office. The staff is friendly and professional and the dentist and dental hygienists go above and beyond explaining every step. I highly recommend this office!

Dr. Shweta are prompt & curtious. I don't look forward to going to the dentist but my visits to their office are non events. Procedures are explained cleraly and performed painlessly.

Everytime I come here the receptionist is never friendly and doesn't greet patients when they come in. I dread coming to this place because I always feel uncomfortable and it makes me feel like im an inconvenience. Politely asked receptionist for my insurance card back because I realized I had walked out without it and she gave me an attitude and complained "I'm helping 7 people right now." I get if you're overwhelmed but don't take it out on patients. Ive been coming here for years and it happens every single visit. Will no longer be a patient at this facility.

Everyone is kind and patient. I was given extremely clear information while my dental plan was discussed. All my questions were patiently answered. As much as I'm not a great fan of dental visits I must say that I had a positive and pleasurable experience. I highly recommend Life Long Dental Care. I need a lot of dental work done! Based upon my experience I look forward to my future visits to this practice!

I would like to thank the Doctor and her assistant, for their patience listening to my dental history and my anxieties. My second visit for extractions went very well, all went smoothly and I was treated with great care. Actually looking forward to returning to finish up. Part 2- denture fit today. Having done advertising for dentists in the past, I think of my most popular ad I produced. It showed a photo of a smiling woman. My experience with Dr. Gujaren and her staff reminded me of that ad. Adjusting the simple line in the ad to my experience, "It's not what his dentist did for his smile, it is what his smile did for him". Thank you to you and your staff!!

Loved the doctor and the lady who did the cleaning both super nice did great work. But wish I could say the same about the front desk. Very cold shoulder and don't seem to care about anyone there.

What a breath of fresh air (no pun intended). I've been looking for a dentist since we moved here a couple years ago, and haven't had much success until now. Friendly, professional service, with great explanations of alternatives. Very highly recommended!!!!

I have been with Dr. Martin for 23 years, enough said. Fast forward to 01/2022, the quality of dental care has gone way down hill since Dr. Martin retired. Time to more on.
