Dr. David Kahn has lived in Port Jefferson for nearly 30 years. Dr. Kahn is a graduate of Port Jefferson High School and he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. While pursuing his studies, Dr. Kahn swam for the Longhorns where he was a Big-12 Conference champion and NCAA All-American in the 200 individual medley. In addition, Dr. Kahn was one of 15 individuals across 12 different NCAA Division I sports to be named to the ESPN the Magazine 2005 Academic All-American 1st Team in the at-large division. Dr. Kahn was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society in 2006. Dr. Kahn graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2011 before returning home to Port Jefferson to complete a 1-year general practitioners residency program at St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center.
Dr. Kahn stayed active in competitive sports while studying dentistry. In 2008, USA Triathlon named Dr. Kahn its male amateur athlete of the year. Dr. Kahn graduated to the professional ranks where he competed on the Ironman 70.3 professional circuit. He is a 2 time Ironman 70.3 champion, finishing as high as 13th at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. In addition, Dr. Kahn has finished as high as 11th in the world on the Ironman 70.3 points ranking list. Dr. Kahn continued to race professionally as he transitioned into private practice as an associate in his fathers practice. In 2015 Dr. Kahn retired from professional triathlon and founded LI Sound Dental Solutions.
Dr. David Kahn is a 2nd generation dentist. His father Mark has practiced in Medford and Mount Sinai for nearly 40 years and remains an invaluable influence in his sons development as a practitioner. Soon, Dr. Kahns brother Matthew will complete his education at Stony Brook Dental School and join his brother at LI Sound Dental Solutions.
Dr. David Kahn is a dental association member at the county, state and national level. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the North Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kahn is a USA Triathlon Level I certified coach and maintains an active lifestyle. In his spare time, Dr. Kahn looks forward to spending time with his family, playing with his parents Airedales and attending live music events. Continuing Education
Dr. Matthew Kahn has lived in Port Jefferson for nearly 28 years. Dr. Kahn is a graduate of Port Jefferson High School and he received his undergraduate degree from Brown University in 2012. Dr. Kahn graduated from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 2016 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Matthew Kahn continued his education by completing a 1-year general practitioners residency program at Stony Brook Hospital as well as additional training in implant placement.

Very tough to find a professional, trustworthy, and caring Dentist nowadays. Dr. Matthew Kahn is exactly that. He is very detailed in his explanations and what he is doing. He answers any questions you may have, you never feel like you are being rushed, and it's an all around comfortable feeling from him and the office. Thank you!

I called this office because I needed a tooth removed. They gave me an appointment for it and i arrived early to fill out paperwork. I'm sitting there filling out about what seems like a book of paperwork, after I finish I'm told that they don't have an oral surgeon so I would just have x rays done and an exam. Although they could have told me that through the phone they decide to waste my time. It was a waste of time because I agreed to the cost and exam just to be told they needed a translator with me. English may not be my first language but I understand. I understood everything and they gave me every reason to walk out that door unsatisfied. If you guys were super booked that you had to push a patient away you could have canceled on me beforehand. I have a company to attend to as well. Thanks for nothing Dr Kahn.

I used to be terrified of the dentist- until I started seeing Dr. Matt Kahn at LI dental solutions. From the front desk to the staff, everything is handled in a professional and wonderful way! Plus, they play John Mayer while you get your teeth cleaned. 10/10 stars would recommend to a friend

I am not one for the dentist but when my tooth broke a close friend recommended LI Dentist. I was able to be seen the same day I called! Everything is clean and sterile! I felt very comfortable and knew I was in good hands as soon as I met the staff! Thank you so much for helping with all the concerns I had and for making a tooth extraction NOT a bad experience I am highly recommending David Kahn DMD and his wonderful staff!

I recently saw Dr David Kahn after I suffered a broken molar. He office is immaculate and state of the art. Treatment was thorough and painless. I needed a crown as I expected. I highly recommend Dr Kahn if you need a dentist.

No words to describe how increible Doctor David Kahn is. I had trust issues with Dentists in the past but with Doctor Kahn, they all went away. He is the honest and more down to earth dentist that I have ever met. I fully trust his judgment, he truly cares and he will do everything in his power to make sure you are happy and satisfied. Making him my dentist is the best decision that I have ever met. I am referring my family over to him.

I am so glad I started coming to LI Sound Dental Solutions to see Dr. Matthew Kahn. First, they make it SUPER EASY in becoming a patient, as all the forms are online so you print and fill them out before your first appointment. Second, they ask questions on the form that I feel are so important that I've never been asked before at the dentist (i.e do you gag easily? Does the sound of the drill bother you? Do you have vertigo/can't lean back in the chair too much? Etc). Third, I can only speak on my experiences but the issues I have (gagging) they REALLY work with me on getting the work done as quickly yet efficiently as possible. I am a huge pain and always feel bad for what I put them through, but you would never know because they treat me with a big smile and all the information I need about what's going on. I would highly recommend and even have to my boyfriend who loves it there as well! Thank you Dr. Kahn, Lauren, Stephanie and all the rest of the staff! You all rock!

This dental office is amazing. I chipped both of my front teeth and Dr. Matthew Kahn took me in the next morning to fix them. He did a beautiful job and was able to make my teeth look exactly like they did prior to being chipped. Also the office environment is very relaxing, it took the anxiety out of stressful situation. I will be coming back here for all of my dental work.

I wish I could give a ten star rating to Dr. David Kahn and staff at LI Sound Dental Solutions. Dr. Kahn is the best dentist I have ever been to. He is up on the latest technology and exhibits true craftsmanship in his dentistry skills. He achieved what I call a miracle in making my teeth look so good. He sets a very high standard for himself and meets that standard! Stephanie is totally the best and most conscientious hygienist ever! I am a coffee and tea drinker and when I leave the office after she cleans my teeth they are white as can be. She is meticulous and never rushes through her cleanings. Anna is gifted as the assistant and exemplifies skilled work. The office is immaculate, comfortable, and friendly.
