Preventive Care and Education We are dedicated to the concept of preventive dentistry. This includes thorough oral examinations, cancer screenings, and an emphasis on oral health education. Patients that have good oral hygiene habits and practice them daily have a much healthier smile than someone who is not as dedicated in their oral health care practices. We consider motivating our patients as one of our primary responsibilities.

Safety Precautions Infection Control and safety issues are extremely important in our office and taken very seriously. We follow standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in order to ensure that your visit to our office is as safe as possible.We also follow all HIPAA guidelines to protect your personal and health information.

Training and Expertise Our office staff is continually involved in updating our training and education. This helps us stay current on new materials and techniques, as well as, diseases, medications, and other health-care issues. We do this through seminars, lectures, meetings, online courses, and attending dental exhibitions.

Dr. Lewis has been practicing dentistry in Goodlettsville for his entire professional career. He grew up in Old Hickory, TN and graduated salutatorian from DuPont High School. He received a B.S. in chemistry from MTSU and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences. He is a member of the Goodlettsville Chamber of Commerce, the Nashville Dental Society, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He has four daughters, four grandsons and a granddaughter that he is extremely proud of and loves very much. He also loves camping, canoeing, white water rafting, spelunking, and UT sports.

Dr. Lewis also has a love of music. He was the director of the Praise Kids childrens choir at his church in White House for many years. He is also a 20-plus year member of the Connell Handbell Choir in Goodlettsville. They have annual spring and Christmas concerts. Over the years, they have performed at numerous weddings, community events, nursing homes, city hall, and, for years, played at Opryland Hotel during the Christmas season. Although unable to make the trip, the Connell Handbell Choir was even invited to play at the Biltmore.

Dr. Lewis also enjoys his time with his grandchildren. He had two grandsons until the summer of 2011 when another grandson and a granddaughter were born. Having each of his older daughters have babies within one month of each other proved to be a wonderful experience. Since then, another grandson has come along. All live close which is a tremendous blessing.

One of Dr. Lewis younger daughters recently graduated from the University of Tennessee where she was a member of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band for four years. Having been a UT football season ticket holder since seven years before she was born, Dr. Lewis never dreamed he would actually have a child on the field at Neyland Stadium. Win or lose, going to a UT football game was even more special with a daughter marching with the Pride.

Dr. Lewis baby girl was a four year starter for her high school soccer team. Her senior year, the team made it all the way to the semi-finals of the state tournament and ended their season ranked third in the state. She also graduated with all kinds of accolades and in the top eight of her class with a perfect 4.0 and twelve hours of college credit. She has also recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee.

Professionally, Dr. Lewis enjoys all phases of dentistry. He especially enjoys the newer capabilities of his profession including digital radiography, air abrasion (drill-less fillings) restorations, metal-free restorations, magnification, lighting, and intra-oral cameras. He also enjoys cosmetics, dentures, partials, crowns, bridges, white fillings, night guards, retainers, and tooth whitening.
