Dr. Lewis received his bachelors degree in Biology from Gonzaga University in 1989 and received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 1994 from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. He is also a graduate of Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Lewis enjoys all phases of dentistry, with emphasis on Functional Jaw Orthopedics. Dr. Lewis was born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, and now makes it his home with his wife Geraldine and their four children.
Dr. Hawn was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. He received his bachelor's degree in Biology from Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN, where he played four years of varsity football and was team captain his senior year. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Dental School. He then continued his education at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID at an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. Through his experience, he gained added expertise enabling him to offer treatment in all areas of dentistry; including but not limited to: routine restorative, implants, crowns, bridges, root canals, dentures, tooth whitening, full-mouth reconstructions, smile makeovers, veneers, splint therapy, bone grafts, wisdom teeth extractions, periodontal surgeries and other oral surgeries. Dr. Hawn is also trained to offer intravenous and oral sedation for anxious patients, invasive treatment and/or lengthy procedures.
Dr. Hawn loves spending time with his close-knit family and friends. He loves the outdoors and enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, downhill skiing, waterskiing, mountain biking and many other athletic activities. Dr. Hawn has several relatives who live in Sandpoint, and he quickly fell in love with the area when he would visit family. He has always dreamed of making Sandpoint his home, and he is very excited to continue his career in North Idaho.

I'm thoroughly impressed with the Lewis & Hawn office! Laticia and Becky were so knowledgeable and tolerated my dental anxiety. Notably, Laticia was incredibly thorough and made sure that I was comfortable for my entire cleaning. I can confidently say that I left the clinic without any gum pain and don't dread the fact that I have to return in 6 months for my next cleaning. I'm actually looking forward to working with Laticia again! I highly recommend this office.

My visit was a pleasant experience! How often do you almost go to sleep during periodontal work? Having a mouthful of implants due to an old football injury, I especially appreciated the professionalism of the staff! Highly recommended!

All I can say is WOW! Awesome experience. I'm 68 and needed crowns, decay repair and God knows what else. I've always been very picky about dentists and if they didn't meet my standards I went elsewhere. I've had some really good dentists and a few not so good. But Dr. Hawn and Becky, one of his assistants are the bomb! And they have state of the art equipment that is amazing. They actually make the crowns there at their office! For the first time in years I've found a dentist that I have complete confidence and trust in. If you're looking for excellent dentistry look no further.

Dr. Lewis and staff are the best. I had been to several dentists in the area and finally found Dr. Lewis about 20 years ago when he diagnosed my pain issue, which the other dentists failed to do. I will never go to anyone else. Thank you Dr. Lewis and staff for your outstanding knowledge, professionalism, and yet being personable and making me feel like I am your only patient.

Being in the dental industry for 42 years as a dental technician and moving to Sandpoint we went to Lewis and Hawn dentistry on Pine street. I have received the most thorough and comprehensive care ever. Dr Hawn tells what is needed and prioritizes which is most important and you decide what you want done. Being in the industry and seeing his quality of work is some of the best I've ever seen. Super great guy and a delightful staff you won't be disappointed. His method of giving injections to numb you up are the best ever you'll hardly even notice it. Dave

Called Monday AM to get in due to chipping a tooth on the weekend. I was able to get in by 1000 and had tooth repaired by 1100. Customer service was phenomenal from making appt to finishing with Dr Lewis. Hygienist was excellent as well and had everything ready for Dr.. He let me know step by step what he was doing and why. Can't recommend this office enough for my experience and their willingness to make my teeth look normal again. Highly recommend this dentistry to all in the area!
