Dr. Ty Levie joined our practice after graduating from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Ty was born and raised in LaFayette, Georgia where he grew up idolizing his father, Dr. Walter H. Levie, Jr., playing sports, and dreaming of one day becoming a dentist in his hometown.
Ty attended the Baylor School in Chattanooga where he excelled in not only academics but also football. He lettered three seasons and was named an all-state player in Tennessee his final two seasons. Upon graduation, Ty received a football scholarship to attend Samford University.
Ty graduated, cum laude, from Samford University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. At Samford, Ty was inducted as a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society. Outside of the classroom, Ty excelled on the football field as a four-year varsity letterman. Ty was nominated as the September 2008 Athlete of the Month for the Southern Conference and was awarded the Gary Cooney Scholastic Award which is presented to the Samford football player with the highest grade point average.
Tys other accolades include being named to the 2008/2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams and being named a semi-finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy. He was also nominated for the Allstate/American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team, which honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement.
While at Samford, Tys commitment to public service expanded beyond the classroom. Not only did Ty volunteer as an academic tutor for Samford student-athletes, he was also elected team leader of a Habitat for Humanity project. Ty traveled to the remote villages of Mongolia on a dental mission trip and also volunteered at various non-profit organizations, including the Dr. William Roy Mercy Dental Clinic in Chattanooga where he recognized an increased need for dental access for many individuals. In preparation for dental school, Ty served as a microbiology research assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
Ty received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. While in dental school, Ty volunteered for various organizations and regularly traveled within the greater Indianapolis area to provide dental services to low-income patients. During Tys fourth year, he was selected to serve as a teaching assistant to the first-year dental class with its pre-clinical hands-on courses. Ty was inducted as a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society, which recognizes students with high scholarship, character, potential for leadership, and who are in the top 12% of the graduating class.
Aside from practicing dentistry, Ty enjoys remaining active, working out, hunting, and fishing. He also loves spending time with friends and family. Ty currently lives in Chattanooga with his wife and two dogs Oakley and Waylon.

Dr levie is the best I hate needles and never felt no pain not once took my tooth out fast and pain free !!! Best place in Ga to get your teeth work done!!!!

Outstanding Dentist and staff....You aren't just a number..They are extremely professional, and cater to each patient. I have special needs children and they handle them extremely well and make them comfortable. They also understand what an appointment is they run the office very efficiently and get you in right away.

Do not recommend. I went to Levie Family Dentistry for X-rays and a consultation. I met with Dr. Levie (Walter) and was told I needed a root canal, 9 cavities filled and scaling. This was all told to me with no tools used other than the x rays. I left scared, so I decided to get a second opinion at Rome Smiles where they were exceptional, and reassured me I do not need the treatment that Levie told me I did. Levie's staff and himself are unprofessional. He tried to scare me into unneeded dental work! I do not recommend this place to anyone! If you decide to go there and are unsure of the procedure they are telling you to do, please get a second opinion.

Went to Dr Ty to get dentures on my bottom teeth. He instead recommended that I get a crown and fill in a couple of cavities to keep my bottom teeth to salvage them. I had a wonderful experience and the staff was so nice and experienced! I really recommend them!

You get the highest quality of care here. The staff is great to work with, and the Dentists are really the best in the business. Awesome christian music plays in the background. If you have to see a dentist, this is the place to be. Their very gentle and always putting you at ease explaining what they are doing. I'd give them a 10+.

Sure had a great experience at Levie Family Dentistry. I broke a crown and they were able to get me in at the appointment time I requested although they offered me to come in sooner but this worked out well for me because I was off work. They did an excellent job making sure I was comfortable (I am a big baby when it comes to dental work) they did impeccable work on my tooth. I have had major dental work done in the past this by far was my best experience at the dentist. The office is clean the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I am happy I have found you guys!

I am a former patient if Dr. Walter Levie Sr. Moved away for awhile, but came back to LaFayette a year ago. My dentures cracked, and made an appointment online. The staff called the next day and took me in with no waiting. Dr. Chip was great and fixed me up in no time with a new denture. This is a great place . Very professional, friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend them for all your dental needs.
