Dr. Doug Lesan graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1985. He also graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1978. He proudly served as a dental officer in the United States Naval Dental Corp for 5 years at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base, Jacksonville, NC. He has since worked in private practice and made Jacksonville his home. Dr. Lesan is an Eagle Scout and serves as Assistant Scout Master with Troop 319 in Jacksonville. He is happily married to Angie and is a proud father to his four children. He is active in his church and has served on the Jacksonville Planning Board for over 25 years.
Dr. Lesan has many interests in the dental field including TMJ therapy, invisalign, Lumineers, Snap-on-Smile and cosmetic dentistry. He stays abreast on new techniques and services to provide the best dental services for his patients. Currently, he is Jacksonville's Premier LumiSmile Dentist offering the newest in Lumineers.
He is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontics Society, the L.D. Pankey Institute, and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Lesan prides himself in using the most up to date technologies and skills. During your visit to his office, your comfort and satisfaction with the work you are receiving are his top priorities. After all, creating beautiful smiles is what he does best!

The BEST dentist/dental practice I have ever experienced. No one likes going to the dentist, but his staff make it easy. I never have to wait more than a few minutes after I arrive to be seen. Very friendly staff.

I have been taking my teeth and those of my family to Dr. Lesan's for well over a decade now. Dr. Lesan is a highly competent professional. Yet his easy going, humorous manner puts you at ease. I have always liked Dr. Lesan. Until I recently had a dental issue causing excruciating pain. I have literally been up for over 3 days now in pain, crying and moaning due to a root fracture, bone infection and abscess. He told me to use Tylenol and clove oil despite me telling him that Tylenol did not work for me. I went to my doctor as he asked me to...to have him ok some pain medication. My doctor then told me he didnt feel like he needed to tell another doctor what meds are ok to take or not. So then I went to the ER who sent me home with 1 day's worth of pain meds that didnt work and told me to get back up with my dentist as he is the one who should be handling this. I spoke to 2 other dentists office within the VA system who all said the same thing...Dr. Lesan should be giving this out. But instead, he would rather someone be in excruciating, ER-level pain for days on end because of whatever preconceptions he has about pain medication. I very rarely cry from pain but have been crying for 3 days..its absolutely disgusting. And I'm very disappointed that he would allow someone to hurt so badly for so long when he can change that.

I am one who has extreme dental anxiety to the Pomo that I would only go to the dentist when I am in extreme pain. This office treats you as a person not a number. Dr. Lesan is awesome! He will make sure your comfortable and ok. He does not shame you and will talk to you as a person and not as he is the doctor and you don't know anything. Not only is he great but the staff is also. They will talk with you and treat you as a person. Now the big thing with me, as I have done medical billing for years, is they check with the insurance before they do a procedure. NO SURPRISE BILL. They also checked my insurance and not told me I have to do it. I despise that out of a doctors office, since I do that for a living. So for me I am impressed with the whole office.

Very nice and friendly staff. Dr. Lesan is very good, but the practice has just gotten too big. We have been with them for over 20 years, but appointment times and wait times have just gotten too long. It shouldn't take 6 months to make an appointment for a simple cleaning.

By far my favorite dentist in the whole world. Everyone is so kind and lovely. The dentist himself is one of the nicest people I've met. He straight up reminds me of my grandpa. If I had to give you a snap shot of this place. It would have to be how much they make me laugh and feel completely warm&welcomed. I feel like I can truly talk to them about any concerns as they will go above and beyond for any little thing you need. They make me feel like I'm truly apart of a family so I thank the whole team for that. I hope you guys are having a wonderful holiday!! Thank you for everything and more, Isabelle! I really like this Dentist. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. My cleaning, done by Krissy, was quick and pain/discomfort free. She was so sweet. They talk you through everything they are doing and they give you recommendations without being pushy. I would say this his been my favorite Dentist that I have been to.

My family has been going here for 14yrs and hands down Dr. Lesan and his team have always been the best. The difference of this clinic vs others is not just Dr. Lesan but everyone working there takes their time to get to know everyone's name and their needs as well and because of that you feel you're at home. Let me not forget the work they all do has always been amazing, comfortable, and minimal stress if ever any.

This is the best dental practice. They treat you so nicely and if you have anxiety about being there, they are even kinder if that is possible. I have had a lot of work done that was needed and I trust them so much. It has really changed my fear of the dentist, while I am nervous still, I am happy to go here. I have gone here for years a this point and dread if I ever have to move. I love dental cleanings and the whole staff is so kind!

I just want to say that I am horrified of dentist's and Dr. Lesan and his staff made me feel so comfortable, on top of that he fixed all my teeth plus more for a great price. I am in CA now and I've already had horrible service already. I had a dentist doctor tell me he is not going to repair my chiped tooth because because its a front tooth. He said trust me you don't want me to put a filling back there? I was confused because the dental hygenist told me that needs to be fixed. My teeth are not perfect and I paid alot to fix them and for him to straight up refuse to fix a tooth was sad!! I'm contemplating flying back to NC just so I can see my favorite dentist in the whole world!!!!

I am NOT a fan of the dentist and haven't been in years, but after needing to get a good cleaning a friend recommend Dr. Lesan and his practice. The facility itself is beautiful, everyone that crossed my path was very kind and Chrissy (or however it's spelt) my dental hygienist was phenomenal. She was very personable and walked me through everything she was doing. Dr Lesan was professional and offered great advice and was all around great. My first experience here blew my expectations out of the water. I never thought I would say I can't wait to go back to the dentist! I highly recommend
