Dr. Robert Lerner was raised as an air force brat living in many parts of the country and the Philippines prior to enlisting in the Navy where he served for 8 years before starting his dental education. Dr. Lerner earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from Creighton University in 1993 after studying biology at Oklahoma State University.
In order to stay current with the latest technologies, Dr. Lerner has invested heavily in continuing education having attended the prestigious L.D.Pankey institute and the first implant maxi-course offered by the Oregon AGD. Dr. Lerner enjoys taking dental courses and routinely exceeds the states requirements for licensure.
Dr. Robert Lerner offers all aspects of general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. This includes crowns, bridges, tooth-colored (white) fillings, root canals and extractions (including wisdom teeth), dentures and implants. We also provide preventative services such as teeth cleaning, non-surgical gum care and fluoride treatment
A dental crown or cap is used when a tooth is severely broken down to the point that a filling will no longer provide a long-term solution. A crown is used after a tooth has had a root canal treatment and for a dental implant. Our crowns are custom made and natural looking in order to restore the original shape and appearance of your teeth. Crowns are usually made of porcelain, but gold crowns are also provided and, at times, are a better solution. We encourage our patients to discuss these options with Doctors Lerner.
A denture is a removable prosthetic replacement for several missing teeth or when all teeth have been lost. They come in two forms: complete or partial. Complete dentures are for patients that are missing all their teeth. Partial dentures are a tooth replacement option when a patient is missing several teeth but still have some remaining.
Removal of teeth is one of the most common procedures performed in dentistry. Regardless of the reason that you need to get a tooth pulled, our doctors will thoroughly explain the procedure and have your utmost wellbeing in mind. Doctor Lerner is well-trained in performing most dental extractions (including wisdom teeth).
A root canal is essentially a filling that replaces the nerve of the tooth. For a tooth that is damaged or badly decayed, root canal treatment may be the best way to save your natural tooth. Despite their undeservedly bad reputation, root canals should not be painful and very quickly alleviate pain and discomfort.
Composite fillings (tooth-colored) have become the preferred choice of material to use when you have cavities and want to avoid traditional silver mercury fillings. Composite fillings have a unique property. They bond to the surrounding tooth structure, and offer greater strength retention.
A dental bridge is a cemented-in restoration that is used to replace one or more missing teeth by attaching artificial teeth, or implants, with natural looking porcelain crowns. Dr. Lerner would be happy to discuss tooth replacement options with you.
Our hygienists each have over 20 years of experience and are trained to expertly and gently clean your teeth. We recommend most patients have what could be termed a routine cleaning every 6 months. In cases where a patient has more involved gum disease, one of our hygienists will provide a specialized periodontal maintenance program of 3 to 4 cleanings per year.

I have been a long time patient of Dr Lerner and have gotten so comfortable and attached to him over the years. That he has retired makes me very sad but I have to say that I really like this Dr Cody Holt. I appreciate his warm and genuine manner and that he's listening. Like Dr Lerner, he's not telling me that I need to have dental work done that I don't need to have done. I love it too that the office staff has stayed despite Dr Lerner's retirement - Shelly is still there and Verla, all the same front desk people. This is a change but it really is ok.

I will miss Dr. Lerner but I had my first appointment with Dr. Holt and it was a nice experience. He has a very kind and genuine manner. His exam was thorough and I appreciated the time he took to explain any issues in a way I can understand. Like most people, going to the dentist isn't on the top of my list of fun things to do, but if I have to go, I'm glad I'm going to see Dr. Holt!

Trust. That's how you want to feel about your dentist. The first time in Dr. Lerner's office, I felt I could trust him and his staff. From the friendly front desk, to the gentle cleaning, to the informative exam; everyone made sure I was comfortable with each step. Dr Lerner explained, informed and showed me what was going on with me and how I could better take care of my teeth. Honestly, this is the best dental office I've ever been in!

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Lerner and his staff for about 20 years. He has taken good care of our teeth. He explains any teeth issues thoroughly and clearly and does not push unnecessary or unneeded dental work. He works quickly when doing dental work such as fillings as to minimize the discomfort. We are grateful to have a DDS we know we can count on.

Dr. Robert Lerner is an amazing dentist. I've been seeing him for years for annual exams and cleanings, fillings and chipped tooth issues. He is extremely personable, and more importantly, very knowledgeable about current dental practices. I feel comfortable asking him questions, which he answers in an understandable way. The hygienists and staff are very kind. Everyone in the office cares about the patient experience. I would recommend to anyone to see Dr. Lerner and his amazing crew. I would give 6 starts if I could.

I discovered Dr. Lerner one year ago after dentist hopping for the past 18 years living in Anchorage. I wish I had found him and his practice sooner! Firstly, the office is clean, tidy and professional. Secondly, the front desk individual is the lovely Leigh - super professional, kind and efficient; exactly what you want a new or returning client to interface with to make a positive impression for the practice. Thirdly, his work staff are also super friendly, kind, efficient and professional. I have not met everyone, but Verla is terrific, and my forever (I hope) Hygienist Shelly is par excellence. I doubt I'll ever find a better Hygienist in my life! She successfully found a perfect balance for my taste between providing professional, quality and efficient care while still making it a personable and inviting experience. I did not find myself gripping the chair as I usually do. Upon scheduling I did ask if I could have nitrous oxide to make the experience even more relaxing; and she provided that without question or making me feel like a child for the request. I do not believe nitrous is covered by insurance - so only request it if you are willing to pay cash for it, which I will do gladly every time. Nota bene: You do have to ask for nitrous in advance when scheduling so they can be prepared to provide it. Fourthly, Dr. Lerner himself has all the qualities I noted for Shelly in regards to finding a comfortable balance between being professional yet personable. He is a very intelligent, calm and patient doctor with skilled yet gentle hands. Last fall on our first visit he took digital photos to show me cracks in my lower back molars, and recommended I get those fixed when able to prevent progression to full-on broken teeth; but also said that the ball is in my court for scheduling that since I have no symptoms. Yesterday he followed that up, learned I still have no symptoms and he said he was glad, and moved on. I love how Dr. Lerner reviews all findings and options - but with zero pressure to do anything that is not what you are looking for at the time. How refreshing! I hope I'm not over-disclosing Dr. Lerner's personal information - but he also served our country in the U.S. Navy, and I respect and admire him all the more for that service. Fifthly, I have never referred a friend or family member to a dentist because I have never found one that I could be so confident in the care rendered from the moment one enters the clinic to the time they leave. This practice has my full and entire confidence, and I have now sent my wife and son there; a business colleague and his family members, and they are all equally pleased and satisfied with Dr. Lerner, Shelly, and all other staff and with identical outcomes and opinions. I have quizzed them all after the visits to compare impressions; and we agree that the care is professional yet personal without all the upsells and pressure. I actually left my visit yesterday remarking to Leigh at the front desk "This was a fun visit. How is that even possible? A dental visit that I actually enjoyed?" She laughed, and I heard Dr. Lerner around the corner laugh too. I bet they hear that a lot! I wanted to write this review after my first visit late last year, but needed a second visit to ensure I was on the mark. Now I am sure; this is The Place for me and mine. If you are looking for skilled dental care that incorporates kindness and gentleness without pressure, up-selling or fear-mongering - I could not recommend this group any more than I do. Thank you Dr. Lerner, Shelly and Staff! P.S. I just read other reviews of the group and found a one-star reviewer who only said something along the lines of "worst doctor ever, avoid him" without any further details. I also read Dr. Lerners respectful and gently worded reply which suggests the individual has never even been seen by the practice; indicating this was a personal attack and not professionally relevant. What a shameful and cowardly action by that individual.

Dr. Lerner and his office do a wonderful job. Appointments are on time, phones/messages get answered promptly and everyone communicates clearly & respectfully. I feel that Dr. Lerner is a straight-shooter and will tell you what you truly need to prioritize now. No fancy upsell or paying for the atmosphere. I would and do recommend this practice.

The Staff and Dr Lerner are excellent!! Karen made my kiddos feel safe and comfortable, the environment was so clean and it was nice to see the office and all staff taking Covid precautions seriously for the safety of everyone!
