For Dr. Lepore, average has never been good enough, especially when it comes to his family and his patients. This philosophy stems from a phrase his dad instilled in him as a young boy, maximize your potential. These three simple words have weaved through every part of his life, including how hard he worked at playing hockey growing up, to how much he studied and continues training in dentistry, and to striving to be the best husband and father he can be for his family. Youll find he applies this principle to his patients too-- he wants to empower you to be your best, healthiest self and improve your overall quality of life.

Dr. Lepore was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania but grew up locally right here in Pinellas County, attending Tarpon Springs High School. He attended the University of Florida for undergraduate and dental school studies and held a job all throughout dental school. In addition to caring for your health, Dr. Lepore enjoys meeting patients and building lasting relationships. He and his team will be there to make you laugh if youre scared and there to listen if you have concerns. His goal is for you to leave the office feeling as though you can trust, with confidence, in the recommendations and treatment you receive.

When the lab coat comes off, youll find Dr. Lepore going out for dinner and drinks with his wife, goofing off with his two young children (Luca and Melina), attending church, watching hockey, and spending quality time with friends.

Dr. Lepore has received advanced training in Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implants, Laser Dentistry, Dental Sleep Medicine, Advanced Rehabilitative Dentistry and Oral Systemic Medicine. Since 2013, Dr. Lepore is privileged to have attended nearly 1,400 hours of progressive continuing education. He highly values education and training and chooses to go far above the minimum requirement of 16 hours per year in order to stay on top of the latest trends, technologies, and treatment planning to provide his patients' optimal care.

According to Dr. Dougherty, the best dental care is delivered in an atmosphere of comfort, dignity and safety. Dr. Dougherty believes that no one should ever feel scared or embarrassed at embarking on a process to improve their health. Making the choice to better your dental health is a positive decision that should be celebrated, not feared. Dr. Dougherty is an experienced and empathetic healthcare provider who values her patients trust and will empower you on your journey to achieving a healthier mouth and body.

The daughter of a career Air Force veteran, Dr. Dougherty was raised on deep-rooted principles of service, respect and integrity. Prior to receiving her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University in 2012, Dr. Dougherty was awarded the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, which led her to a 9-year career in public health in Pinellas County. During this time, she saw firsthand the truth of the oral-systemic connection and how seriously poor oral health could affect the body, and vice versa. Beginning her career in public health has shaped Dr. Doughertys vision that true, quality dental care starts with prevention and must be integrated with total body health.

Dr. Dougherty was born in England and has lived in many cities across the United States. She has lived in Pinellas County, Florida with her husband, Shelby, since 2012. The couple fell in love with the areas rich culture, history, geography and food and is now proud to call the Sunshine State their forever home. Together they have a son, Noah, who was born in Saint Petersburg and is a Florida boy, through and through. When she is not at the dental office Dr. Dougherty enjoys exploring Floridas natural beauty with her family, reading, DIY projects around the house and cooking.

Dr. Ryan Lepore introduces his new dental lead Dr. Erin Dougherty who will be supplementing his role as the clinical practitioner at Lepore Comprehensive Dentistry, and cold not have been happier to have chosen someone with his exact principles and values to take care of his beloved patients.

Hey everyone Dr. Lepore here I am so excited to share some news about our practice moving forward and you might be wondering who is right here sitting next to me and I want oth introduce Dr. Dougherty who will be joining our practice august 16th to take over my clinical role here at the practice but I want to be very clear I did not sell the practice my role is simply changing. However I remain just as invested in the future of the practice as I ever have been. I wanted to take a minute and be a little vulnerable to explain what went into this decision and how it is going to impact you as a patient in the future. I grew up playing competitive sports mostly ice hockey, and some of those pre-existing injuries have finally started to affect my ability to practice. Especially with the posture of this profession that is putting us in on a daily basis. believe it or not I am in pain on most of the days that I am seeing patients and I have been told by medical professionals that I dont make a change soon it could be a very long road and many of you know that I have a wife and 2 young children and quite simply I want oth be able to lay catch with my son and one day walk my daughter down the aisle and not experiment any pain. The thing is though I would never have the comfort or the courage to move forward with a decision like this if I didnt have the right person take this practice to the next level and that is where Dr. Dougherty comes in. Professionally speaking it was love at first meeting and she shares the same passion and has the same drive and I think more importantly she has the moral compass to both ethically and compassionately take care of patients the right way. Like me she shares a affection for how the mouth connects to the rest of the body and is seen firsthand during her time at serving the public at community health setting just how important that link can be and I just couldnt be more excited to work with her I truth her so much she has even do a little dental work on me and I couldnt be more sure that she is truly the perfect fit for this practice, this team and most importantly for you and my patients.

I couldnt describe any better how perfectly aligned our visions are in dental health. There are some moments in life where you just know you are on the right path and that is exactly how I feel about joining Dr. Lepores team. To join a health care team that shares my passion for prevention for oral health as a part of the whole body is both a blessing and a dream for me. It is a rare thing to find a dental practice that is as true and dedicated as Dr. Lepores but I am honored to be a part of it. It is going to be a privilege for me to continue to provide the same quality dental care and trust worthy advise you have come to expect from dr. Lepore as he transitions out of his clinical role because conversation after conversation Dr. Lepore and I realize that our visions and philosophys not only complement each other but they are synergistic. Working together they make each other better. They know how important it is to Dr. Lepore to treat patient like family and I utilize education tools and the care they need to achieve optimal health. I feel the same way. I am devoted to providing our patient with great dental care and an atmosphere of comfort and dignity. Many patients presented to the dentist are embarrassed about their condition or are scared of what the dentist might find. My philosophy is hey we all have challenges and we all have to start somewhere to achieve our goals. I am here to celebrate the decision you have made to achieve better health and I will guide you on your journey one step at a time. I also want to let you know that I will be participating in the same membership dental benefit and insurance plans that Dr. Lepore did to make this transition as seamless as possible for you. I will also be keeping a few more services in house such as teeth extractions minor oral surgeries dentures and partials as well as my favorite seeing more children. I cant wait to meet you and I am looking forward to joining you on your journey to better dental health.

Dr. Dougherty is a committed lifelong learner. She strives to stay current in dental technology and treatments and goes above the states minimum requirement of 16 hours per year, in order to provide the highest level of care to her patients. Some topics that Dr. Doughertys continuing education portfolio includes are: oral-systemic health, preventive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and treatment planning, sleep apnea and prosthetics.

Jessica is a hygienist at Lepore Comprehensive Dentistry and has been in the field of dentistry since she was 16. The main thing she notices is the sense of purpose and belonging that she finds here at her job with Dr. Lepore. She stays true to her passion and wouldnt trade this job for anything. The team is a family. They help each other out and Jessica loves the people she works with.

Being a hygienist, Ive been in the dental field since I was 16, so a very long time. And one of the main things that I noticed before I started working here is, I started to just feel like I was on the treadmill, 8 5, cleaning teeth. And now that Im here, I feel like I have a purpose. I feel like I have a belonging and its hard to find that purpose again in dentistry when youve been in it so long.

And the passion that I have for dentistry and the passion I have for the purpose and the vision that Dr. Lepore has is amazing. I wouldnt trade this job for anything, and this isnt just a job, this is my passion, this is what I do for a living. And when I go home at the end of the day, it doesnt stop. I do research, Im writing articles, Im doing all kinds of things that will help not only better my career but will help better my patients health. So that way Im up on things that they might not know or maybe something that they might bring to me. I want to be able to help educate them.

As our team that we have now, we have the best team weve ever had. I feel like we all work together, we all help each other out, and that is true. That is you can say you have teamwork in an office but this is, this is beyond real teamwork. This is our family, this is who we are. When we go home, sometimes well send fun little text messages to each other. And it doesnt necessarily end at 5o clock when we go home at the end of the day and thats the nice thing, that you have to love the people that you work with. And I think that we do.

Other causes of dry mouth include side effects of certain medical treatments. For example, head and neck radiation or chemotherapy used to treat cancer have been known to damage salivary glands, which are responsible for producing saliva. Other conditions that lead to dehydration also cause dry mouth.

Dr. Lepore takes us through the details of his fees structure focusing on the main areas that are considered: the skill it takes to do it right, the time it takes to do it well and the materials that are used to make it last. He reminds us that being more affordable doesn't always mean thequality is good, and as a dentist who maintains his integrity as a professional he takes pride in his work and his ability to provide the best possible care.

Hey everybody, its Dr. Lepore back with another frequently asked question. We get asked in our practice a lot about our fees and so it thought I will take this little opportunity to tell you how we base our fees and we really base it on three things. The skill it takes to do it right, the time it takes to do it well and the materials that we use to make it last. So lets start with that first one the skill it takes to do it right. When I came out of dental school I prided myself by wanting to be the best that I possibly could at what I did and so I started to take a lot of advanced education after graduation. Now just so you know it is an uncomfortable topic for me to talk about how much I take especially for my wife God Bless her but we are required to take 32 hours of CE every two years as dentists. In our office we take close to 200 or 250 in some years. so we do that so that we could provide the best care and the most modern and current care. Secondly if you are going to do something well it takes time to do it so when I started my career I worked for one of the corporate chain practices and I would see anywhere between 25 and 30 patients a day and that doesnt even include the time I would go and do exams for patients in hygiene. In our practice now I may see 8 10 people at most and let me tell you why in order for me to do the best work, I have to be attentive, present and I have to be able to not be interrupted when I am doing the best care that I possibly can and I found that if I spaced myself accordingly I was able to provide just that. Some models are much more volume driven you will see 8 to 10 people sitting in the waiting room. We see 8 to 10 patients maybe all day. Lastly I want to talk about the materials we use to make things last, there are so many different types of crowns and filling materials and different cements that we can possibly use an I can tell you that the good isnt cheap and cheap isnt good so we take that mantra not just to our practice but to the materials that we use. So rather than send your work to an overseas laboratory where we might pay a third of what we might pay here we use a very high quality lab right here in the US and the same goes for the other materials we use we use the top materials that are backed by research that are going to give longevity. We certainly wont be the cheapest dentistry that youll find and we actually take pride in that for the same reason that you probably take a lot of pride in your work, we certainly take a lot of pride in ours.

Our team is highly skilled in maximizing the benefits of every patients dental insurance plan as a way to help cover the costs of dental care. Your treatment costs will be discussed thoroughly before any treatment begins, and you are invited to share your concerns with us at that time.

Most dental benefit plans specifically exclude extraordinary needs. If you have needs other than healthy cleanings, your care will require an investment beyond what your dental insurance will cover. We invite you to call our office at (727) 608-4690 to talk with us about your plan.

At Lepore Comprehensive Dentistry, we do everything we can to ensure that our patients receive the dental care they deserve at a price they can afford. We also understand that not every individual has dental insurance, nor is it a guarantee of coverage. This may cause you to put off necessary dental care, which can result in tooth decay, tooth loss, and periodontal disease. Therefore, we encourage you to take advantage of our in-house financing through CareCredit or Wells Fargo Health Advantage. We also accept payment made with more traditional means such as cash, checks, and credit cards.

Wells Fargo Health Advantage and CareCredit are used by our patients regularly to help support their dental needs. Get the dental care you deserve today, and find a payment option that works best for you with these financing options.

A healthy and beautiful smile is not only an attractive asset, it is essential to your overall well-being. At our office, youll receive the finest quality dental care enhanced by an outstanding level of artistry, all delivered in an environment that is both comfortable and caring.

With todays array of sophisticated and modern dental technology, even the most challenging smiles can be transformed into ones that dazzle. We use the most advanced techniques to provide all our patients with outstanding results! Its your smile, what are you waiting for? Give us a call at (727) 608-4690 today!

It's unfortunate because I really did enjoy this office. Everything was perfect until the dentist (both of them) referred me to a periodontist 50 miles away(Wesley Chapel) for a procedure that wasn't covered by insurance. When I challenged this decision, especially for going to Wesley Chapel, they wouldn't make a different referral, saying things like "He's the best in the business" and "If your a patient, you would want the best treatment, right?" (all paraphrasing) They kept this referral exclusive to this one dentist, and when I asked to be seen by them again (because pain was getting worse), they stated they rather I go see this other dentist. I ended up getting a second opinion and it was discovered that a tooth was infected, and I needed a endodontist for root canal. The 2nd opinion stated that this should have been an easy diagnosis to any experienced dentist, showing me an area of shadow on the x-ray. Also stated that they did not understand why I would need a periodontist when there is no indication on x-ray or by probing. PATIENTS BEWARE: if they recommend this dentist in Wesley Chapel for 'Biologic Shaping' (and might also feel like your getting pressure to do this), please get a 2nd opinion. I'm glad I did because I had an infection that was misdiagnosed. Instead of properly diagnosing, they pressure me into make a decision that did not sit well. Furthermore, and this is just a speculation, after looking at all the board qualified periodontist that are here in Pinellas, I find it very odd to be referred to one two counties away. I understand being referred to a dentist with high quality work, but to be so exclusive to this one to the point where they can't help with my pain makes me think that they are either getting kickbacks, or maybe close relationship. I just hope they don't put someone through this pain like I had, just for the sake of helping another dentist.

Dr. Lapore and his staff are magnificent! Before coming to Dr. Lepore, I had many years of poor experiences and quality of care with multiple dental practices. With Dr. Lepore's care and his engagement with other specialists needed I have been able to resolve long-term dental issues and have a much healthier mouth. It's been quit the journey and I have been able to trust his recommendations at every step of the way. Also, Dr. Lepore and his staff are always so accommodating. I work full time and live almost an hour away but they always make it easy for me to set appointments at my convenience. They are definitely worth the drive. Thanks, Dr. Lepore and team!!

The first thing I should say is that I have a bad gag reflex and am very anxious at a dentist office. Stephanie the hygienist was amazing at getting the x-rays of my mouth done and cleaning my teeth. My visit with Dr Lepore was thorough and he answered all of my questions, I left the office feeling confident that I can trust him and the staff with my oral health.

Lepore Comprehensive Dentistry certainly lives up to the comprehensive portion in their name. My dental experience with them, from start to finish, was extremely positive. Their front office team was so efficient and accommodating in scheduling and confirming my appointments. Dr. Erin Dougherty was very kind, comforting and thorough. She definitely took the time to explain her findings from the X-rays and photos of my teeth to help me have a better understanding of my oral health. The dental hygienist, Claudia, was so professional, knowledgeable and truly did an amazing job cleaning my teeth. I don't think they had ever felt cleaner! Overall, my experience was very positive and I highly recommend them. Every single person in this practice, from front office to back, were so warm and welcoming, and made you feel like family. Thank you Dr. Dougherty and Team! :)
