Originally born in rural Pennsylvania, Dr Theresa Heaton graduated from the University of Scranton where she completed her Bachelors of Science. Being from a military family, she was commissioned as a second lieutenant after graduation into the United States Army MEDCOM and as a soldier, completed dental school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Theresa spent time at Fort Sam Houston, TX, Camp Bullis, TX, Fort Rucker, AL, Fort Jackson, SC, Fort Gordon, GA, Eglin Air Force Base, Dentin, FL, Camp Shelby, MS, and most recently Fort Benning, GA while serving her country. After completing her tour, she came back to Texas where she had been in private practice for the past 15 years. When not drillin and fillin you can find her out and about with friends and family, at the gun range with her husband Josh, flying planes, or playing with her two golden retrievers Ruger and Molly.
Mikaela began her career as a registered dental assistant in 2008. She and Dr Heaton previously worked together for 6 years and are excited to be reunited at Leonard Smiles. Mikaela is married to her high school sweetheart, Cody, and they have the sweetest golden retriever named Macie. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, hunting, and fishing.
Odette started her dental journey by attending a local dental assisting school after nearly a decade of being a nanny. She has a passion for working with people and helping them achieve their dental goals. When not in the dental office, she enjoy spending time with family, ministry and volunteer work, and consignment shopping. She looks forward to meeting you here at Leonard Smiles.

Dr Moore and his team did great with me. I was extremely nervous. My anxiety was through the roof. They did their best to get to know me and make me as calm and comfortable as possible. Not many dental surgeons take the time to get on your level and make the effort to really get to know you before they start. And his whole team was just amazing.

I came in for a regular checkup. Previously, I had some issues with gum disease and with Dr Heaton and her staff, my checkup was very positive! I attribute the change to the education I received. Keep up the good work!!! And thank you from the top of my gums!

It was my first visit here. They were able to schedule me an appointment the same day. Everyone was friendly and made me feel at ease. Dr Heaton was friendly and very knowledgeable . I'll definitely be going back and hope to have them as our family dentist.

TL;DR version from confessed dentaphobe and dental procrastinator: Try 'em. You'll like 'em. I went to Leonard Smiles when I could no longer avoid going to a dentist. The reviews gave me enough hope to overcome my fear. The experience starts in the parking lot.* The building looks more like a house than an office and the atmosphere is comfortably professional. They take insurance and work with you so that you can maximize your available benefits. From exam and x-rays, the dental assistant was reassuring and efficient. Her manner and skill defrayed my tension before the doctor arrived and helped to reassure me that I had picked the right place. Dr. Heaton herself is much the same, plus she's the doctor, able to explain what's happening and why based on her years of experience both in the army (!!!) and in private practice. Those years of experience also seem to give her a magic touch when it comes to pain management. The proper answer to "Can you feel this" was always "Feel what?" Hooray that. Dr. Heaton takes pride in her work and joy from work that justifies the pride. She keeps up with technology -- 3d x-rays, digital scans of your teeth and gums. An electric drill instead of pneumatic (torgue, torque, torque), etc. Bottom line: I needed a significant and -- to me -- scary dental procedure. I feared the worst and got the best. Now I can chew. I heartily recommend Dr. Heaton and the whole Leonard Smiles crew. * the asterisk is because the experience actually starts before you get there with the questionnaire that gets your history and asks -- hooray -- how you prefer to interact with the dentist and assistants. I opted to be keep in the loop as everything was happening and Dr. Heaton obliged nicely.

Dr. Heaton and her staff are AMAZING!! I have big time anxiety when it comes to the dentist and these sweet people have made it a breeze! I have had a stain on my tooth for longer than I'd like to admit and Dr. Heaton fixed me up and you cannot even tell which tooth had the stain!! I can't recommend this dentist office enough, my entire family loves them!
