Overland Park's Lenz Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is conveniently located at the NE corner of 143rd Street and Metcalf Avenue, in the heart of Southern Johnson County, close to Leawood, Olathe, Stilwell, Stanley and Kansas City. Our Dental office blends a soothing atmosphere with state-of-the-art technology. We have created an environment that allows staff and doctors to give patients the dental care we would want for our own friends and families. A warm, family environment is an integral part of our practice.
Because home and community have always been important to Dr. Lenz, his decision to live and practice in Southern Johnson County was easy. He has lived in the area for the past 20+ years, and it is important to him to practice dentistry in his own community for the people who are his neighbors.
After graduating from Blue Valley High School, Dr. Lenz attended Kansas State University, where he played football for the Wildcats. It was there he received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology and became interested in becoming a dentist. He was fascinated with a profession that combined the interaction of both science and art. The School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri at Kansas City was a perfect fit for him.
Since his graduation from UMKC, he has continued to educate himself on the changing art of dentistry. He has consistently kept up with advancements in his profession. Dr. Lenz is excited to incorporate this cutting-edge technology into his dental practice.
As well as keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry, Dr. Lenz's emphasis on patient comfort enables him to provide the highest quality of care possible. Because he has a wide range of skills, he can offer patients many different treatment options. Patient education and personalized care are emphasized. Dr. Lenz takes the time to help each patient understand his or her diagnosis. Together they can discuss the pros and cons of each treatment option in order to best meet the patient's goals.
At Lenz Family and Cosmetic Dentistry treatment begins with the patient. After a complete and thorough examination, Dr. Lenz reviews and discusses the diagnosis and treatment options. He listens to each individual's concerns and ideas and customizes a state-of-the-art program for that patient.
Outside the office Dr. Lenz enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf with friends, and working out. He helps coach on his sons Baseball and Soccer team. He and his wife Julie have three children, Tate, Addison, and Jamison. Dr. Lenz is an active member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, and Kansas City 5th District Dental Society.
Dr. Paulsen was born and raised in Omaha, NE and moved to the Kansas City area in 2019. She completed her undergradute studies at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. It was during her undergraduate studies where she became interested in dentistry. She went on to earn her DDS from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Paulsen's love for dentistry allows her the opportunity to really get to know patients and establish lasting relationships. She genuinely cares about everyones well-being and makes efforts to show that in her dental work. She is passionate about education, prevention and early intervention in a caring environment where you and your choices matter.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Paulsen enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially while exploring new places in Kansas City. She loves reading, traveling, attending concerts, and of course, cheering on the Huskers and Chiefs! Dr. Paulsen is an active member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, and Kansas City 5th District Dental Society.
Molly is a Registered Dental Hygienist, and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2010. During her education, Molly worked with a fellow student and faculty to begin their own research study, looking into the connection of tobacco use and an increased risk for decay. She was inducted into the National Dental Hygiene Honor Society, Sigma Phi Alpha, in 2010. Molly enjoys building relationships with her patients and assisting them in improving their oral health.
Outside of the office, Molly loves spending time with her family, husband Tyler, and daughters Carly and Charlotte. She also enjoys spending time with friends, reading, cooking and cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks and KC Royals.
Megan got her start in dentistry in 2005 as a chair side dental assistant. Since then she has found a passion assisting in the front office as well. Cross training allows her to help where needed anywhere in the office, ensuring patients receive the best care possible. She is very personable and truly enjoys the patient interaction.
Megan is a Kansas native and lives in Olathe with her husband Jon, her high school sweetheart. They have 2 daughters Kirsten, and Avery. Megan is a huge animal lover and has 3 dogs, Sylvia (Doberman) and Dax and Minnie (Miniature Doberman Pinschers).
Katie grew up in Colorado and made her way to Kansas after graduating high school. She attended KU and then graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry division of Dental Hygiene in 2007. She served as Class President while in hygiene school.
Outside of work, she spends her time with her husband, Drew and their two boys, Easton and Liam. They love to travel, spend time outdoors and you can find always find them cheering on the Jayhawks and Royals!!
Mesha started with Lenz Family Dental in 2015. She graduated in 2012 from Concorde Career Institute. She enjoys interacting and caring for her patients, always striving to make their experience great. Outside of the office, Mesha enjoys playing basketball, cooking and spending time with her three kiddos Mia, Nadia and Ayden.
Abby started with Lenz Family Dental in August 2017. She graduated from KU in 2011 with a degree in Community Health Education. Abby later attended Concorde's Dental Hygiene Program and graduated as an R.D.H. in 2013. Since graduating she has worked in Pediatric Dentistry and Public Health which involved going into the schools and health departments doing mobile dentistry for the underserved. She prides herself on patient education and ensuring patients have a positive dental experience.
April has been in dentistry for over 6 years. April's grandmother worked at a dental office when she was a child which made going to the dentist fun and exciting. Since then she had always wanted to work in the dental field. April enjoys exercising, Netflix binging with her two over weight cats (Milo and Chloe) and going out on the town with her husband Nick and their friends. You can also find her cheering on the Raiders.
Kirsten started at Lenz Family Dental in April 2019. She attended Texas A&M University before graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in dental hygiene in 2017. While studying at UMKC, she served as her class social chair and participated in several community outreach projects that served the Greater Kansas City area.
Miriam joined Lenz family Dental October 2020. She has been assisting since 2008 and has been passionate about dentistry ever since. Miriam strives to make sure every patient feels comfortable and has a great experience in our office.
Outside of work, she spends her time with her boyfriend Mason, their two kids Aven and Rosalina and lets not forget about their pup Izzy. They love to spend time by a bonfire and cheering on the Chiefs.
Caitlyn started as a Dental Assistant at Lenz Family Dental in 2021. When she is not helping patients in the back you can catch her up at the front desk helping out. She is attending Johnson County Community College to become a registered dental hygienist. She found her love in dentistry through a previous job in the dental field cleaning childrens teeth and decided to move forward with the profession. In her free time she enjoys staying home with her boyfriend Kayden, cuddling her cat Binx, and puppy Gunner. She also enjoys going on road trips, spending time with her family, and loves cats.
