Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

The office staff were very nice but both me and my husband had the same experience as others on this site. We both went in for an initial exam and cleaning and were told we both needed a $1000 "deep cleaning". I had never heard of this before but my insurance covers regular cleanings. We had not been to the dentist since Covid but didn't even have a cavity between us. I feel like this is a real scam and it made me disappointed with the office.

I had a root canal 3 years ago. It was an awful experience. The endodontist gave me a shot in the roof of my mouth without warning (never have I had that before it was extremely painful) during the root canal the assistant was taking the X-ray to make sure all canals were clear. Obviously a new tech as she had to retake the X-ray at least 10 times. Fast forward a year. My new dentist said my crown wasn't sealed correctly. So, I had to go back, have my crown drilled off and replaced. They did that free of charge. Currently having issues with the tooth again. Apparently a canal was missed during my root canal. It's been infected causing bone loss. Now I have to have the tooth pulled after spending $4k to save it. Now my choice is an implant for several thousand more dollars. Bad experience for sure! I would not recommend this office.

This is the worst dental office I have ever been to! They literally never keep appointments and not just in my own experience, they do the same thing to my fiance! If you're lucky you might get a call that they need to cancel the day before, however they've been so audacious as to call me less than an hour prior to my appointment! You reschedule and still get a call to cancel that one! I've moved on to a better, more professional dental office however my fiance tried giving them the benefit of the doubt. They canceled his cleanings so much since he went in over a year ago for a deep cleaning that now they're telling him he needs another deep cleaning and quoted him double the price of the last one, with the same insurance! I don't say this lightly...go somewhere else! You'll save yourself time stress and money if you do!

I had the exact same experience as Cory. Been going to a dentist every 6 months for my life before COVID happened and always just had routine cleanings. Went to this place and they want to give me a deep cleaning for near $1000 when all I want is a routine, insurance covered 6 month cleaning. I wasn't even seen until 30 minutes after my appointment started until I got x rays and then it was another 45 before I got seen by anyone and that was only after I had to come out and find out what was going on. I'll find another dental office after my insurance turns over for the year

This office used to be fine, but 3 days ago, they called asking to move my appointment on the 14th, which I let them. Then they called today and left a message stating that they cancelled the new appointment. I called back and waited on hold for over 10 minutes before getting connected with an answering service who said the doctor booked out for the whole month. The answering service left a message with the office manager to call me back, but it is end of business day now. Later, LVDG. I'm gonna go find a dentist who can get me in quick and appreciates me and my two generous insurance policies.

They canceled my appointment without calling me and then left me waiting in their lobby for 45 minutes and when I was late to the reschedule appointment they charged me $100. Poor service not very diligent don't waste your money

I've been going here pretty much since it first opened, and it was always a good experience. The first 4 doctors I saw were great. This most recent visit was terrible. I was scheduled for a cleaning and exam. What I got was poked in the gums by a new doctor for 5 minutes. She told me everything looked good and nothing had changed since my last visit according to my records. Then she recommended some "deep cleaning" for almost $1000. I'd never heard any doctor recommended that in my life. After declining the expensive cleaning I was walked out into the lobby area. Initially I thought I was being lead into the other room for the regular cleaning with a hygienist. I reminded the gal that I was also scheduled for a cleaning and she told me they wouldn't do the regular scheduled cleaning until I got the expensive "deep cleaning." Being declined a service that my insurance covers in full until I pay $1000 out of pocket for something just seems so unethical and illegal. I used to love this place, now I just feel like all they want is to get as much money out of every patient as they can. I guess I'll have to find a new dentist unless I can switch back to one of my former doctors that's still working there.

I was happy with getting same day emergency dental work, my only issue was that the doctor forgot to forward my prescriptions to the pharmacy. It took a couple of calls and the involvement of a second doctor to get my meds.

Update 7/6/2022 The hygienist Joan Shadler is no longer in this clinic. Maybe things are different and changing? Not sure. Overall experience that led me to switch clinics: I am just absolutely dissapointed with this dental clinic and how they do things. I am surprised they haven't been sued yet. It has been a downhill post covid (2021). They weren't so bad when I first started with them 3 years ago but all those people left. The only person bearable or does anything well is Dr. Heather but that does not help if you need basic care and maintenance. These are the issues that have been major redflags in the last few months for me: 1. They are extremely understaffed, especially the hygienists. They cancelled on me very last minute and via text and did not bother to even reach out to reschedule. I literally spent a lot of money (don't know if some of them were necessary) on deep cleaning and fillings and booked all my appointments for 2022 and what is the point if they cancel on me? 2. The hygienist - Joan Shadler (looks like she is all they have) is straight up unprofessional, rude and treats your mouth like she is about to destroy you. It was just gross that I had to shower after every appointment. She has the most ridiculous rationale to oral hygiene and practice. My new hygienist and doctors were absolutely shocked to hear the recommendations she gave me. So make sure you do your research as well. Also, if you ever go here please fact check with another clinic and get a second opinion. 3. I spent a lot on fillings and the day I was looked at some other Doctor than Heather did those. 6 months later they are all bad and I have to redo them- WTH! So here I am back to do all of them again. What a waste of time and money. 4. This was the icing on top of all the other nonsense- they were such a pain to get my records (x-rays) moved to the new clinic. After asking several times, when they finally did, the x-rays were all bad and I had to redo them. Who does that in this day and age? Aren't we technologically advanced? It also looks like there is a new pattern with many dissapointed clients and that does say something. It was my mistake to pick a clinic close to me, but it really matters where you put your money in especially with dental work. An absolute waste!

If I could go lower than 1 star I would. I went in to get my wisdom teeth out, was accused of being an addict due to medication history for an anxiety disorder - things I haven't been on for years. I was waiting in the chair while being connected to the machines for over an hour. The oral surgeon Charles Calder was disgustingly rude. They discriminated against myself and my mental illness. Their nurse shoved a phone in my face with a Google description of Naltrexone like I was stupid. They said they didn't know "how to deal with me" I left without getting my wisdom teeth out and was treated so poorly I will never return, which is unfortunate because this USED to be a good dentist.

For Root Canal future patients: poor customer service, they can rip you off, if you can pay it full on that day they will do it for you on that day otherwise if you cannot afford they will schedule you for two days with $100 down pmt to secure one of the appts for root canal (even if you said it's an emergency). Total cost with insurance can be almost a $1k. It depends on what insurance you have. They are not prof when it comes to retrieving your presciptions at your pharmacy.

I was so impressed by this office when I arrived for my 7:00am appointment yesterday. I had concerns because I live in South Reno and had to get up early to make my appointment on time. I was referred by someone who I respect and trust; so I decided to give Dr. Harrington a try. My experience was beyond my expectations. I haven't seen a dentist in 3 years because of our move from California and Covid. Dr. Harrington was absolutely amazing and extremely talented, funny & kind. His assistant, Jonathan, was efficient, gentle & nice. The hygienist, Lyz, turned my yellow teeth back to the beautiful white that was hidden beneath the Coffee, Tea, Blueberries & Red Wine:)
