Dr. Leiszler is a 2005 graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry and a 2001 graduate from the University of Kansas. He has a fervent enthusiasm for excellent dentistry, and he consistently obtains in excess of 100 hours of continuing education annually (much greater than the 30 hours required per year). A life-long learner, Dr. Leiszlers love for the science, artistry, craftsmanship, and behavioral aspects of dentistry keep him in pursuit of constant improvement. Since graduation from dental school, Dr. Leiszler has completed the continuum at the renowned Pankey Institute and has furthered his education at the Dawson Academy and Spear Education. These institutions are regarded as some of the very best places in the world for dentists to receive continuing education. In addition to these institutions, Dr. Leiszler is involved in a number of study clubs with other like-minded dentists both locally and around the country. He has also been influenced by some very special mentors who are nationally recognized as some of the finest clinicians in dentistry.

Dr. Leiszlers favorite aspects of practice involve the concepts of Comprehensive Dentistry: esthetically pleasing, long-lasting, health-focused cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He loves helping patients distill complex restorative and/or TMJ issues into attainable goals for themselves, and he does it in a comfortable, no-pressure manner.

Dr. Leiszler is proud to be involved in the local community in a variety of ways. In particular, he has been involved in the success of the Douglas County Dental Clinic, serving on their board for many years and volunteering for the organization. He has also been a proud volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County, his church, his neighborhood association board, and in any other way he can contribute to the Baldwin and Lawrence communities.

He has been married to his best friend, Anne-Marie, since 2004, and they have two sons, Harrison and Bennett, who keep them busy with all the best things in life. Dr. Leiszlers daily purpose is to treat his patients in the same manner that he would treat his own family members: with compassion, honesty, and the very highest quality that his abilities will allow.

As a patient once said to him after her first visit, How did you do that? I never expect to enjoy visits to the dentist, but Im leaving here actually feeling like you and I are on the same team! I thought this was supposed to be an adversarial relationship, but instead, I actually feel inspired to take control of my oral health!

Dr. Maddie Overmiller is from Wichita, Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at Creighton University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Overmiller developed a love of dentistry at a young age, when she decided to follow in her dads footsteps of becoming a dentist. She has always loved the science behind oral health, and even more so, the artisitic element. She enjoys using her knowledge of each to help improve a patients smile and quality of life. Most of all, she enjoys and cherishes the lifelong relationships she forms with her patients.

While completing her undergraduate studies at Kansas State, Dr. Overmiller met her husband, Blake, who is now a physical therapist in Leawood, Kansas. They were married in May, 2021 and currently live in Olathe, KS. They enjoy trips out to the mountains of Colorado to ski, hike, and camp. They love to visit family and friends, travel, and golf together in their free time.

Teresa brings over 20 years of experience to our team. She has worked as a chairside assistant as well as an Office Administrator. She has a vast knowledge of both clinical dentistry as well as dental insurance, financial arrangements, scheduling, and just about anything else youd like to know! You will appreciate Teresas kind heart and warm smile when she helps you on the phone or when she greets you as you walk in the door.

Teresa moved to the area from Colorado in 2013 to be closer to her daughters family, especially her new grandson! She is an animal lover with two dogs, two cats, and a bird, and she loves enjoying the great outdoors while fishing, hunting, or motorcycling.

A graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Betsy later decided to join the health care field by completing her Associate of Applied Science degree at Johnson County Community College to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. She is also part-time faculty at Johnson County Community College as a clinical instructor.

Baldwin City Dental has given Betsy a wonderful opportunity to care for the residents of the community in which she has lived her whole life. Betsy takes pride in providing the best possible care for every patient. She will get your teeth sparkling clean with no discomfort, and you can bet the conversation will be enjoyable and interesting. She enjoys meeting new people as well as caring for people she has known for years. As a clinical instructor at JCCC, Betsy has the opportunity to learn as well as teach this profession to others.

Emily likes to spend time with her husband, Austin, and her daughters, Ali& Cora.She likes to spend as much time as possible outside and continuing her dental hygiene education with continuing education courses.

Judy joins our team from Ottawa, Kansas. She started in dentistry in 1984 and has a wealth of knowledge about the profession. Judy knew in high school that dentistry was what she wanted to do, and she followed that dream. She describes herself as a 'people person' and loves getting to know new people and establishing life-long friendships. When asked what her favorite part of dentistry is, she has a hard time choosing, as every aspect in this field is what she enjoys most. Her goal is to make sure her patients leave with a smile that they will be proud to share.

Outside of work, she volunteers at Ransom Memorial Hospital and is active in her church. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, and grown children, Andrew and Megan. Some of her favorite activities are camping, traveling and reading.

Andrea has been involved in the dental field for most of her life. Starting out with an after school job working in her father's orthodontic practice, she stayed on there through high school and continued while earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Kansas State University (proof that Baldwin City Dental is an Equal Opportunity Employer!). Andreas role in the practice is to ensure every patients comfort, and to help Dr. Leiszler and Dr. Heath deliver the highest quality in each and every procedure.

She and her husband then moved to the Vinland area after college to raise their family. After working for the Baldwin school district for several years, Andrea decided to return to the field that she started with many years earlier.

Andrea, her husband, Matt, and their two daughters Ella and Nina, enjoy living in the country. Raising chickens, gardening, reading, and spending time with family are all the things that make living in Kansas wonderful!

We do all the little things to make patients feel comfortable during treatment by providing pillows, blankets, movies, and music to enhance their experience.
