Dr. Kent is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to her undergraduate and dental degree, she completed a Ph.D. in microbiology and a residency in periodontics.
Dr. Kent is the current President of the Alabama Dental Association. She is also the past president of the Birmingham District Dental Society as well as the Alabama Society of Periodontics. She was also the leadership liaison for Alabama to the American Academy of Periodontology.She was also the founder and director of the Birmingham Comprehensive Dental Seminars, which brings area dentists and dental specialists together to work on providing a comprehensive team approach to patient care.
She has served on the executive council of Birmingham District Dental Society as well as the Southern Academy of Periodontics. She is also a member of the Alabama Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Kent is not only a dedicated medical professional but also a compassionate caregiver. Her follow-through is exceptional; she REALLY cares for her patients. In addition, her staff follows her lead exhibiting concern and empathy for the patient. The office procedures ran with utmost efficiently as well. Dr. Leigh Kent has earned my highest recommendation.

I am writing for my husband who has now passed away, but I know he'd want me to write his praise for Dr Kent. Every single time he'd return after a visit to Dr Kent, he had glowing praise for her. One time after an extraction, he commented how he hadn't even realized she had pulled the tooth. She was just that painless. What would ordinarily be an uncomfortable experience of having a deep cleaning, he wouldn't have one negative comment. Dr Kent is just that good. If you will give her a try, you will not go to any other periodontist, and you will encourage your friends and family to do the same.

I had such a positive experience with Dr. Kent and her staff. I was not left alone for more than a minute or two the whole visit. They explained every procedure plus the plan going forward. Sweet Maggie had just become engaged and she shared the details of that special day with me just like we were old friends.
