Dr. Melvyn Leifert received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree as well as his specialty certification in Orthodontics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a board-certified orthodontist, a forensic dentist, and is a Clinical Professor of Dental Medicine at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Leifert has been on the orthodontic faculty at Columbia University for over forty-five years and was designated to serve as Mentor to the orthodontic residents. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Columbia University Orthodontic Alumni Society in appreciation for his many contributions to the education of multiple generations of orthodontists. He is regarded as an expert diagnostician and has specialized in the interception and treatment of a wide variety of skeletal and dental malocclusions and deformities. Dr. Leifert has lectured and written extensively as well as appeared as an expert witness in numerous malpractice cases. In addition to being an educator, he has also maintained a private practice in Greenwich Village for almost fifty years.

Dr. Melvyn Leifert is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a Fellow of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics and the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry. Dr. Michael Leifert received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dental Medicine in 2002. In 2004, he obtained his specialty certification in Orthodontics from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. While attending the post-doctorate residency program, Dr. Leifert served as president of his orthodontic class and as a teaching fellow for the pre-doctoral dental students.

Dr. Michael Leifert has volunteered to provide public oral cancer screenings and is a volunteer for Donated Dental Services.He has also served at the Greater New York Dental Meeting participating on the Publications, Exhibits, and Entertainment Committees and was the recipient of the 2008 New Dentist Leadership Award, presented by the New York State Dental Association.

Dr. Ronniette Garcia-Leifert received her dental degree in Caracas, Venezuela at the Universidad Central of Venezuela in 1999. In 2003, she obtained her specialty certification in Orthodontics from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. While attending her orthodontic post-doctorate residency program, Dr. Garcia-Leifert served as president of her orthodontic class and as a teaching fellow for the pre-doctoral dental students.

Following her orthodontic residency, Dr. Garcia-Leifert returned to dental school at Columbia University and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) in 2007 and served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthodontics until 2012. Dr. Garcia-Leifert has worked in several private orthodontic practices in NYC and is now working with her husband, Dr. Michael Leifert, and her father-in-law, Dr. Melvyn Leifert, in their private orthodontic practice in Greenwich Village, NYC.

Dr. Garcia-Leifert has published continuing education articles, lectured extensively to dental and orthodontic residents at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and has provided seminars in ethics for the dental students at NYU College of Dental Medicine.
