I love creating smiles that are more beautiful and thus more frequent. Few things in the world are more expressive than a smile, and I take pride in transforming reluctant and timid smiles into ones that radiate happiness and self-confidence.

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to meet and care for such a tremendous group of people. Each of my patients is important to me. Each person has a unique story; I love hearing that story and sharing a part of their life with them. Whether Im treating an adolescent and watching them grow and mature along with their new smile, or working with an adult who is finally getting the healthy, incredible smile theyve always wanted, Im helping them. Its an amazing experience.

Oral healthcare, especially orthodontics, is a changing field. New technologies, materials, and processes are constantly becoming available. These result in the best treatment experience and the most amazing results for our patients. As an orthodontist, I remain current on the developments through continuing education courses and participation in study clubs.

Im a native of Chester, NJ who now calls Randolph my home. My wife Stephanie and I have 4 wonderful children, Carina, twins Lilliana and Christian, and Josephine. When Im not working, I spend as much time as possible with my family and friends. I enjoy golfing and frequent trips to the NJ shore and Im also a devoted sports fan.

A persons smile is something that I have learned is influential to a persons ability to be comfortable with themselves. A smile can affect personality, confidence, and self-esteem. I have witnessed and experienced firsthand the power that having the smile youve always wanted can have on an individual. To have the privilege to affect my patients in such a personal way is invaluable.

The intimate relationships that are fostered from regular patient visits makes it an even more unique and rewarding experience, as I get to follow my patients through such an exciting transition in their lives with a grand finale of having a beautiful smile that they can feel good about.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Biobehavioral Health with a minor in Biology at the Pennsylvania State University. I then earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, I was the recipient of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award of Merit, and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and Gamma Pi Delta Honor Society. Following dental school, I completed my three-year orthodontic residency at the Montefiore Medical Center, where I served as Chief Resident.

Due to the ever- changing nature of the field of orthodontics, I remain up to date in the latest advancements through continuing education courses, seminars, and study clubs to ensure my patients receive the best possible care and the utmost result.

I was raised in Morris Plains, New Jersey and now live in Cedar Knolls with my husband Scott and our dog Riley. When not at work, I can be found at the hockey rink supporting my husbands hockey team or golfing with my parents. I love spending time with family, golfing, needlepoint, and traveling.

Its wonderful seeing a patient who was previously unhappy with their crooked teeth and watching them become proud of their new smile. I make my patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visits. I take orthodontic impressions and X-rays, change wires, and insert retainers. I also fabricate custom models and retainers. Its important that each patient knows they are welcome here and can trust us, so I work to build rapport with them.

I work at our front desk, welcoming patients and families as they arrive. I love seeing those happy smiles as people come through the doors: this is such a positive, fun office and our patients reflect that. I also work in our clinic area, assisting doctors and patients. I really like watching people transform along with their smiles. When the braces come off and the new smile is revealed, everyone celebrates with that person.

Our practice has earned a reputation for providing premier orthodontic care in a fun, loving environment. We set the highest standards and utilize the finest techniques available. We treat all of our patients with honesty and integrity, striving to care for them as if they were our own family members or loved ones. As a result, Lehnes Orthodontics has been deemed one of the best orthodontic practices in the state by New Jersey Monthly Magazine for seven consecutive years. This acknowledgement is particularly meaningful to us as it is awarded based on an independent poll of our dental colleagues statewide.

In addition to being orthodontic specialists, Drs. Lehnes and Sittmann are two of only a small percentage of orthodontists in the area that have gone a step beyond to become board-certified Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.

To become board certified, an orthodontist must pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years and culminates in the presentation of treatment results for critical review by a panel of nationally respected peers.Once certified, an orthodontist must become re-certified every ten years to maintain board status.

The significance of board certification, however, goes far beyond achieving the approval of a panel of experts. The greatest benefit comes from the continued in-depth self-evaluation that drives Drs. Lehnes and Sittmann to pursue perfection in every smile they touch. In short, Drs. Lehnes and Sittmann became board certified to benefit their patients who deserve only the very best.
