Dr. Ryan Ward was born in Newton, KS, and moved with his family to Corpus Christi, TX as a child. He found his way back to Kansas when he was recruited to play college tennis at Washburn University in Topeka, KS, and established his own dental practice in Lawrence.
Dentistry is very personal for Dr. Ward. He was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. After undergoing multiple oral surgeries to correct the cleft, he underwent orthodontic treatment for over 10 years.
Apart from helping patients with excellent dentistry, Dr. Ward enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and two cocker spaniels. He and his family love traveling, hiking, swimming, running, and playing tennis. Dr. Ward still competes in USTA mens tennis leagues and father-son doubles national championships with his dad.
This transformation inspired Dr. Ward to become a dentist himself and provide complex comprehensive dental treatments in a comfortable setting. During his residency, he received advanced training in restorative and cosmetic treatments, plus surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.
I always try to make dental treatment seem like something both the patient and myself should want, not just one side or the other. If patients are hesitant about treatment, I never try to push it on them.
Very personable, and I'm excited to get my new smile through this clinic! The staff here is so amazing! Everyone helps you feel comfortable during an anxious time. I cannot say enough good things about this office.

So, it is fair to say, Dr. Ward has been in your shoes. He has experienced the nerves going to the dentist can bring and the uncertainty you might feel. But, he also has seen his own smile transformation and the benefits that brings.
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ryan Ward and his staff. He took the time to fully explain my x-rays and the condition of my teeth and was extremely thorough. Both he and his hygienist have a great bedside manner and they are very friendly. I will be referring him to my family and friends.

From begining to end, as good of an experience you can have at the dentist. The office staff was very friendly and helpful with all my questions and getting the insurance work done. When I arrived, it was a nice clean facility. Dr Ward and his team were informative and thorough to get the job done correctly. It all made a major root cannal the best possible experience. If you are looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend legends dentil.

I had a tricky surgery this week and I could tell it was being handled with patience and attention to detail. They found extra work needed to be done inside and my appointment went beyond the time allocated, but I never felt rushed or that any corners were being cut. I have a lot of confidence in DDS Ward and his associates. Somehow it was almost a pleasant experience, which says a lot when one is having a dental surgery.

I would recommend anyone looking for dental care to go here. The hygienist (yo) and Dr. Ward are very knowledgeable, caring, honest, and professional. They gave me great tips to keeping my dental care in check and answered all my questions. The front desk personal are friendly and very welcoming. I personally am an individual that has high dental anxiety, but felt a sense of calmness during my appointment. This office makes you feel at home.

I went to Legends Dental through a referral from a friend, and it was the best decision! My first visit was great, the receptionists were friendly and punctuality was good. I had a wisdom teeth removed on my second visit, and Dr. Ward did a great job, I did not feel a thing and it was over in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Ward at Legends!

I don't usually leave reviews for anything. But, I need to for Dr. Ward and his staff. I always dreaded going to the dentist. But, as soon as I walked in and was greeted by Dr. Wards staff I suddenly lost that feeling. Not only did they do wonderful work. But, Dr. Ward and his staffs professionalism and charismatic personality's actually made me enjoy my trip to the Dentist! Looking forward to my next visit!

It is so hard to find a good dentist that you can trust. I booked an emergency appointment with Dr. Ward and I am so glad I did! He made me feel comfortable and his staff was wonderful. I drove an hour just to have him specifically work on my tooth because he came so highly recommended. Worth the drive! We will be seeing him for all of our dental needs.

Excellent experience at Legends Dental with Dr. Ward and his team. I needed a root canal recently that was causing me a lot of pain. Dr. Ward was very gentle while getting me numb, and his team made the procedure surprisingly fun and enjoyable (considering the circumstances). They were thorough, and showed me my x-ray and 3D CT x-ray at the end. Would highly recommend him!

I was in need of a tooth extraction and implant and the office was very prompt in getting me in for the extraction and will have the implant done at a later time. The staff was very responsive to any questions or concerns and I would highly recommend if you are in need of dental care.
