Dr. Brian Kerr was raised in Tacoma, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington State University, before moving to Portland for his dental education. He earned his dental degree at OHSUand has been practicing in Tacoma ever since.

Dr. Iannielli prides himself on his commitment to continuing education. Every year he attends postgraduate courses in fields such as orthodontics (6 Month Smiles, Invisalign), advanced esthetic techniques (veneers), dental implants, and much more.

Dr. Christopher VanDerhoef is a northwest native and returned home to practice dentistry after obtaining his degree from the University of Southern California Ostrow School of Dentistry. For his undergraduate studies, he completed his degree in Biological Sciences at Marquette University. Dr. VanDerhoef takes great pride in his work and is committed to quality dental care in a comfortable environment. He especially enjoys treating each patient as an individual and working with them as active participants in achieving their healthy and vibrant smiles. He continues to commit himself to a lifetime of learning as he seeks out and enjoys many hours of continuing dental education. He is an active member of local study clubs. Dr. VanDerhoef is routinely recognized by his peers as a Top Dentist.
Dr. VanDerhoef has obtained his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. This award is given to a small number of dentists who exhibit their commitment to continuing education and learning. This required hundreds of hours of continuing education followed by the fellowship exam.
Dr. Whitney Berens, D.M.D., grew up in a military family and she considers Kitsap County home. After graduating from Central Kitsap High Schoolin 1996, Dr. Berens attended Ripon Collegein Ripon, Wisconsin. After college, Dr. Berens attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicinein Boston, Massachusetts where she was recognized for her exceptional academic performance with an Award for High Clinical Achievement and the A. Albert Yurkstas Award.
During dental school, Dr. Berens commissioned as an active-duty officer in the United States Air Force. Dr. Berens exceptional academic performance during dental school earned her the highly competitive United States Air Force Health Professions Scholarship and the opportunity to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency.
She successfully completed the residency at the United States Air Force Academyin Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2005 before reporting to her next duty station at Grand Forks Air Force Basein Grand Forks, North Dakota. Dr. Berens separated from active duty in 2007 while her husband, Mike, was deployed.
Dr. Berens worked part-time in private practice in North Dakota and in Alabama as a result of her husbands continued military service before she and her family returned to Washington in 2011. Dr. Berens and her husband have three children that keep them very busy with a host of extracurricular activities. As a family, they most enjoy skiing at Crystal Mountain, camping at Washington State Parks and spending time on the seashore.

Legacy Dental is great. I had Julie, Dr. Berens, and Brittany all helped me yesterday. They were kind, gentle, and caring. They always make an effort to keep up on the happenings in my life and display genuine care. Sue, in there insurance and payments group is always a joy to talk to as well. She is very knowledgeable and helpful.

This was my least favorite visit yet. The hygienist was a bit harsh in my cleaning and apologized for a few slips. They also seemed rushed at times when equipment didn't work well. She reached for tools with the pick in her hand and it got real close to my face a few times and I started to get uneasy. Like I said it was my least favorite visit but I typically enjoy my experiences there. It really did seem like an off day for the hygienist however.

This is the best dentist I have ever known- and I've moved quite a bit. Dr Ianelli is incredibly kind, professional and competent as well as personable and friendly- never stuffy! Everyone there is great! His work has been excellent and one thing that really stands out is that he's very aware of the patient experience and strives to keep me (and my family/ all patients) comfortable. Love that! It's a nice building, clean office, good location, parking, - absolutely the best in every way.

Edit 10/23/2022 Still the best dentist I have ever been to, the best staff ever@ everyone just makes me feel at home! They actually care about their patients and not just their teeth I would recommend a million times, my only negative Is I didn't find them sooner because I know of I had my teeth would be in way better shape (2021)This place was fantastic! Best dentists and staff ever! Im and truly grateful for them, i would definitely recommend
