Dr. Collazo earned his dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1990. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Dental Corps where he completed an Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry. In 1995, following military assignments in Kansas, Germany and Texas, Dr. Collazo established residence in Northern Virginia. Professionally, he is dedicated to providing his patients exceptional clinical care. This pursuit has taken him to develop professional relationships with some of the best advanced dental education centers in the World, like The Pankey Institute and Spear Education. His areas of clinical interest are adult complex restorations, esthetics, dental implants, facial pain, TMJ disorders, and dental sleep medicine. He lectures on those topics to local study clubs and maintains membership in the Greater Loudoun Study Club (where he serves as a restorative advisor), Spear Faculty Club and Spear Study Club. Dr. Collazo believes that each patient presents a unique set of conditions, desires and expectations that must be evaluated and understood. Therefore, he aims to develop a partnership with his patients and to empower them to create a lifetime strategy to achieve comfort, function, beauty and dental health. Outside the office, Dr. Collazo is a family man and sport enthusiast. As a former volleyball athlete, he lends his experience by being on the coaching staff of the Heritage High School Volleyball Program and Club Volleyball circuit. In addition to dentistry and sports, his wife of over 30 years and family (which includes two adult daughters and a dog) are his foundation and greatest success. Dr. Collazo is a preferred Vendor for the Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea with Oral Appliance Therapy in Reston, Herndon, Sterling and Loudoun County.
Dr. Amanda Brown has been involved in dentistry for longer than she can remember! The daughter of founder Dr. Douglas Herbert, Dr. Brown joined the practice in 1998 after graduating from the Medical College of Virginia. She is a lifelong native of Loudoun County. Dr. Brown has accomplished extensive advance education and hands on training in orthodontic and restorative dentistry. She strongly believes the functional, structural and esthetic components of a smile contribute to optimal patient well-being. Dr. Brown is a member of several organizations including the American Orthodontic Society, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Dr. Brown trains at the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona and is an active member of the Greater Loudoun Study Club. She has also invested many hours of continuing education in laser dentistry at the World Clinical Laser Institute. The laser improves accuracy of procedures while helping to eliminate pain and recovery time. Dr. Brown prides herself in being extremely gentle and provides care for children of the practice. Dr. Brown and her husband live in Purcellville with their sons and border collies. In addition to her family and professional schedule, Dr. Brown enjoys hiking, skiing, baking and maintains an extensive vegetable garden.
Dr. Yacoub is a native of Northern Virginia and grew up in Leesburg. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2015 and received her dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2019. After graduation, she completed a general practice residency at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center where she treated veterans with complex medical healthcare needs at one of the busiest and most advanced centers. Following residency, she worked in a small family dental practice in Winchester, VA. She enjoys treating patients of all ages while focusing her clinical expertise on restorative, cosmetic, implant, and removable dentistry. Professionally, she is a member of the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. She is passionate about service and participates in Mission of Mercy Projects throughout Virginia as well as Dental Mission Trips to Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. Her love for education pushes her to keep up with the latest advances in dentistry through continued education courses and study clubs. She works with patients to bring confidence to their smile with personalized treatment that produces the best esthetic and functional outcome. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, fine dining, and concerts.

I have been going to this dental group for over two decades and they are like family. Excellent dental care over the years! Had two chipped composite fillings on my two lower front teeth. Dr Yacoub did an excellent job making the repair and matching my tooth coloring. One would not know that I had any work done. Extremely pleased with her professionalism and her enthusiasm and positive attitude in giving quality care. She showed me pictures before, after she prepared the teeth for the new filling and the completed repair. Highly recommend her dental care. You will not be disappointed.

My dad had a cracked tooth over the weekend and he was in extremely pain and I am glad that Leesburg Family Smiles in Leesburg took care of him. The doctor who was on emergency call over the weekend was so helpful and I wanted to say: "Thank you so much for helping my dad."

I've been going to Leesburg Family Smiles for 18 years. They take great care of my teeth, with stellar staff (can't say enough good things about Cheryl, Barbara, Dr. Collazo, who are kind, interested in their patients, and just really nice people) and the most up-to-date dental equipment/ technology. I almost switched to another dentist when I moved from Ashburn to McLean, but so glad I stayed with this team - for the twice annual visit, it's so worth it - and having a Wegman's right next door (as well as many other shops) is just icing on the cake!!

I have a wonderful history with this dental practice having started with Dr. Herbert, who I loved, many, many years ago! Then Amanda came to take his place and I never considered going anywhere else. She and I have been through many eventful life happenings both professionally and personally. She is compassionate, excellent in her work, and always put me at ease with any procedure I needed. I also have been lucky enough to have Barbara Bowling as my hygienist who I have also have had many years of experience with both personally and professionally, as I taught her twin girls in my preschool class and she still gives me an update whenever I come in about what the girls are doing. Everyone in the office has always made you feel comfortable and feeling like a friend. Fortunately there are other excellent dentists in this group who I can go to and know I will get excellent service. I wish Amanda all the luck in the world and a very happy future when she moves on. She is truly an incomparable person who has been such an important part of my life and I will miss her so much! Her future patients are very,very lucky and I hope she will come back for visits to those of us who love her!

This was my first visit to Leesburg Family Smiles. It was such a great experience. The office is beautiful and the staff very friendly. They have state of the art technology and I was able to see my teeth like never before. The doctor took time explaining my issues and we came up with a treatment plan. Definitely a great first visit.

Dr. Brown retired, so I chose Dr. Yakoub as my new dentist. She had to remove an old filling, drill out a cavity that had formed below it, fill it and polish it. She let me know every step of the way as well as how it might feel, how it might feel after, and took pictures at each step to show me after. And bonus: it was fast and my bite was perfect.

Dr Brown and her staff are so caring and friendly. They are professional and anticipates my needs. When I have questions they are ready to give me the correct information. Easy to schedule appointments and if a dental problem comes up will accommodate and get you in to see someone. I love my hygentist Barbara. Very nice with helpful preventative care for my teeth, guns, and mouth. Would recommend this dental office to my family and friends. I would recommend it to everyone. You can not go wrong here.
