After graduation, Dr. Lee performed a year-long general practice residency at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center, a post-graduate program that provided the opportunity for Dr. Lee to practice oral healthcare within a hospital setting, while also managing medically complex and special-needs patients. Dr. Lee elected to stay a second year as Chief Resident.
