Dr. Emily Cheek received a bachelors degree in Biology from Hendrix College, her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and then completed her pediatric dental residency at Bon Secours Pediatric Dental Associates in Richmond, Virginia. She has also received special accolades through the Imhotep Society and The Richard Doggett and Marguerite Taylor Dean Honorary Odontological Society.
When she was young, Dr. Cheek had a traumatic dental injury where she lost a permanent tooth, however, her pediatric dentist was able to save her tooth as well as her smile. She was so grateful and, from that moment, she knew she wanted to provide the same quality of care for others.
When Dr. Cheek is not saving smiles, she is enjoying family life in the city of Little Rock with her husband, James, their two beautiful children, James and Julia, and their two dogs, Honey and Winston. Dr. Cheek enjoys trying new foods, exploring the outdoors, spending time at Lake Ouachita and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Plaqusters are a super small species of bacteria that live mainly in the mouths of unsuspecting cool people. They are NOT clean and make a big mess everywhere. They LEAP from tooth to tooth, hang out on the gums, under the tongue and although they dont mean to do harm, they just cant help themselves. The longer they stick around in your mouth, the more damage they can do to your teeth. The best thing to do is blast them with fluoride and brush them away to a safe place where they can continue the party.

My 4 year old had to have several teeth taken care of at once, unfortunately. The fortunate side is being referred to Leap Kids where they took the best care of our son. The facility is welcoming and fun. Everyone is down to earth, easy to talk to and ask questions. The procedure was explained with detail by Dr. Sebourn and he executed the plan excellently keeping us informed the whole time. The anesthesia team was incredible! So thankful for this dental office and team!

I would recommend Leap kids in Cabot, the staff is so nice, and the office is so awesome. My son is special needs and the oral surgeon we had yesterday was phenomenal at his job, very caring, and understanding! absolutely 10/10 would recommend.

I was beyond impressed with Leap today. It was my child's first experience with a dentist and it went beautifully. Every single staff member was kind, joyful, and made it clear the kids were the priority. I'm pretty sure my kiddo thinks they were all there for especially for her. She had an absolute blast. Can adults be patients? Asking for a friend...

Leap kids dental is great with my boys! They are patient and encouraging during procedures. The dental hygienists explain everything they are doing to my kids and me so nothing is a surprise. Everyone at the office is friendly and helpful- I definitely recommend taking your kids to Leap Kids Dental!

My son just turned 4 and is delayed. He wouldn't let us brush his teeth until recently. The first visit ever to a dentist was in Cabot, everyone was extremely nice, understanding, and answered any questions I had. They had a tv on the ceiling for him to watch while they did the exam. I didn't feel rushed at all. So, he had to go back today (a month later) because he needed so much work done. They did IV sedation to save him from the trauma of it all. The NA, the Doctor, the staff were great. I was concerned because my son has been congested and on allergy medicine. They were very reassuring that if there were any sounds in his chest or throat they would reschedule. The NA checked him out before I paid my deposit. The Doctor was Amazing, he explained everything down to the layers of the teeth, the how, the why, the maybes, and what to expect. We found out more information from him than I have ever been told by a dentist and this is my 4th baby. They did take a few more X-rays once he was asleep and they brought them to the waiting room to let us know of changes in the plan and get the okay to proceed. My son has been going to the same therapy place for 3.5 years now and there are still a lot of days that I have to walk in with him and he knows them all! Let me tell you... I was shocked that he went right back with one of the girls and had zero hesitation. She became his friend first and I believe that truly made a difference. She said he got right up in the chair and did great! I didn't hear him once and as a momma you know you can hear your child through brick walls, haha! After he was finished the doctor came out and talked to us again about what he did and what to expect. When we walked back to the room he was cuddled up with one of the girls. I'm so glad we had a happy kid on Cloud 9 when he woke up, he was hilarious. They walked with us out to the car. I will recommend, if your child has to be sedated, take a neck pillow with you to keep their chin up in the car on the way home! Anyways to sum it up, we had some insurance issues to begin with (our first appt) so make sure you have all that info when you go. With us being military I usually just hand my ID card over and it's never been an issue. I think I was frustrated because of that, but It wasn't their fault and they were very patient with me. We corresponded by email and then a follow up with an appointment. The staff is Amazing all the way around (I've only come across the same girl all 3 times that just isn't as bubbly as the rest. She's not rude, just a different personality) He won't be going anywhere else! I hope you have the same great experience as we did.

Vey friendly professional knowledge remember ALL MY KIDDOS name and mines too . The office is always clean and when someone leave they are washing down the station the doctors are very nice and they SLL interact either the entire family

The atmosphere when you walk in is absolutely amazing. My children don't hesitate to go right in as they're greeted by the most friendly, loving, and caring staff. I would 10/10 recommend these amazing people to anyone who was looking. Love this place and staff! Thank you for being awesome!

Went for my 2 year olds first dentist appointment today. The staff and dentist were FANTASTIC. Perfect dentist for little ones! They do so much to try to make sure your kid is comfortable and gets proper care without causing anxiety or anything like that. Definitely wish I had a dentist like this when I was a kid!

OMG I can't get over how friendly the staff was. from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we were walking back out. the staff here at Leap Kids were all smiles and went out of their way to answer any questions that we had. and especially honestly listening to my son (who's 10) ask questions about his teeth. they treated him like his question was the most important thing in the world. lots of respect for that.
