Dr Subramanian grew up in Mumbai, India. She realized at a very young age that dentistry is her passion. She started shadowing an orthodontist at the age of 15 and was fascinated by the x-rays and models. She completed her Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai, India, a premier institution located in one of the largest cities. After practicing for a couple years in Mumbai, she moved to Tempe, Arizona. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Boston University, Henry M Goldman School Of Dental Medicine. She has been practicing in the valley for over a decade now.
Dr Subramanian says, I believe that the best dentistry is that which is done right the first time and lasts for a long time. I value the trust my patients place in me to take care of their dental needs. I strive to educate my patients and see myself as an advocate of their oral health.
When not practicing dentistry, she likes to spend time with her husband and two children. She is trained in the art form of Indian classical dance and continues to pursue lessons here. Her hobbies are reading and listening to music. She also considers herself a life long student and is happiest when she is engaged in continuing education courses to further her skills and stay informed about the latest innovations in dentistry.

It's been a while since I saw a dentist and I was not sure what to expect. Everyone was professional and pleasant from the front desk staff, to the back office staff as well as the dentist herself. They explained everything and answered every question that I had.

I love my hygienist Veronica she is awesome but this practice has had several owners in the last few years. I believe one of the last owners left the practice with a bad reputation... we stuck around. I struggle every time I come because they always seem ready to sell me on something I "need" whether is cancer screening, fluoride, or Invisalign. I don't like being there and feeling like I have to have my guard up or else. I'm done ... not coming back ever again. As a follow up to my last visit. I get told that even though my insurance doesn't cover fluoride is best to get it. I agree and I'm charged $38 right after my visit. I get. Statement of account a few days later stating "fluoride not covered over the age of 18" ... I called and rather than agreeing with me that the statement is incorrect and that the charges are related to something else the Layton Lakes employee decided to argue with me. I told her I'm done and I'm going to take my business else where and she said and I quote "that would be best"

I truly hate going to the dentist but this place changed that! Everyone goes above and beyond! I found out my new insurance is not accepted and I need to wait till paperwork is filled and they referred me elsewhere and then followed up to make sure I was seen and taken care of! Rachel at the front desk is so kind! As soon as I fix this insurance mishap, I'll absolutely keep coming back.

A new dentist took over for Dr. Phillip here in 2019-2020. Had my biannual dental cleaning and I have not seen the dentist during my last 2 visits this year.

SUPERB dentist!!! However, the billing department is irresponsible to the degree that I would have to classify them as careless and inept. In 35 years of my own medical practice, I cannot recall a billing department with as little concern, follow-through , or accuracy as I experienced at Layton Lakes. It is absurd when the patient has to instruct the billing department how to submit and follow-up on insurance and balance billing to the patient. I feel terrible for the dentist for having to suffer the negative consequences of lazy billers that, unfortunately, represent the doctor.

I went in for a procedure that was scary for me. This place checked all the boxes. Great communication. Best Hygienist I've ever had . The dentist is great too. The front office staff is friendly and the office is clean.!!!!! Really good experience.

My experience here was very thorough and comfortable. Dr. Eric Hwang, DMD worked with me and he did an excellent job. I had to get a new filling as well as work on one other tooth and Dr. Eric talked me through everything, took his time and took care of me. The rest of the staff was also excellent, from checking me in promptly to discussing the estimate before working on my teeth. This office also has a very cozy and modern atmosphere, including massage chairs to sit back on during your dental work. The following day I felt barely any pain near my cavity which is almost unheard of. I will recommend this dentist to everyone I know. Thank you Layton Lakes Team!

The staff was welcoming and professional. The dentist really took the time to listen to my dental issues and create the best treatment plan. The staff was very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

I had a fantastic experience at Layton Lakes Dental. Not only did I get my teeth cleaned and a cavity filled, but I had a chip in my front tooth that made my teeth look uneven and the dentist shaved it down to make both of my front teeth look even. What a change! He went above and beyond. Great experience with the office staff, hygienist, and the dentist! Definitely recommending to my friends and family!

I had used this dentist for years under other mgmt. my last experience was ok from the cleaning perspective, but very pushy from the sales perspective, trying to upsell me on services i didnt feel i needed. I told them no 3-4 times and still had them try to sell me on it after the dentist (flouride treatment, etc). I changed to a different dentist in the area. i researched and found some hygeniests are commission driven, which is a conflict of interest IMHO. i felt the cleaning was OK but if they keep recommending things and i keep saying "no thank you", i assume it would hasten their desire to move on to the next client. at least, that is how i work, in sales.
