Lawrenceville Prosthodontic Dentistry (now known as Lawrenceville Smiles) has been around for more than 60 years! The practice was started by an enigmatic and progressive dentist named Dr. Harold Bullitt. He provided both general dental care to his patients as well as highly advanced prosthodontic care. Dr. Robert Wolf then took over the practice in the early 1980s and, as a fully trained lab technician and Prosthodontist, he continued the work of Dr. Bullitt until he passed the practice on to Dr. Michael Scalia in 2013. Dr. Scalias desire is to continue to provide the town of Lawrenceville, as well as the surrounding communities, with excellent and reliable dental care. He also desires to remain a valued partner for local dentists and dental specialists when called upon to help treat patients with advanced and/or special dental needs.
In his mid-twenties, a desire to help people led him to investigate a career in health care. He attended the post-baccalaureate program for pre-health professionals at Rutgers University before deciding on a career in dentistry. He received his DDS from the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine prior to serving as a General Practice Resident at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
When he realized he wanted the challenge of combining the scientific and artistic elements of dentistry, Dr. Scalia focused on training as a prosthodontist. He spent three years of highly specialized study as a prosthodontic resident at the University of Iowa. With a desire to be able to provide excellent surgical implant services, Dr. Scalia also studied and trained at Loma Linda University as a surgical implant fellow for one full year.
Office Manager Lynn has more than four decades of experience in dentistry. She studied at Bryman Vocational School and received a BA in Social Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BS in Health Education from Trenton State College. At Lawrenceville Smiles, Lynn oversees the team and makes sure everyday operations are smooth and efficient. A member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers, she received the award of professional distinction. Lynn loves working with Dr. Scalia, witnessing his warmth and skill in patient care and appreciates our exceptional, dedicated team. When not at work, Lynn enjoys boating, classic cars with her husband, and spending time with Bella & Gigi, her granddaughters.
Registered Dental Hygienist Judy has extensive experience in the dental field. She is a graduate of Orange Coast College in California, Middlesex County College, and received a BS in Health Care Management from Rutgers University. Judy works one-on-one with Lawrenceville Smiles patients to discover the most effective way to manage their dental health. She works diligently with patients to prevent and treat periodontal disease and provides education for quality home care hygiene. Judy loves treating patients in a clinical setting and truly appreciates the high-quality care Dr. Scalia provides. She loves dentistry so much that she shares her experience and knowledge as a faculty member teaching clinical hygiene to hygiene students at Rutgers University. When not at work, Judy enjoys working out, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her husband Bryan, her fur baby Ricky, family, and friends.
Registered Dental Assistant, Certified Dental Assistant Tara has more than 20 years of experience in dentistry. She has worked in a variety of specialty offices, and the prosthodontic specialty is her favorite. Her advanced training gives her the skill to work directly with patients on treatment. The most fulfilling part of her chosen profession is helping to restore her patients smiles and confidence. When she is not in the office, Tara loves to garden. In fact, she became a certified Rutgers Master Gardener of Mercer County in 2015. She also loves to travel, kayak, camp, hike, and swim at the beach. Tara and her husband Eric have several furry children.
Registered Dental Assistant, Certified Dental Assistant Anne graduated from the dental assisting program at MCCC. She has been a registered dental assistant for over 35 years with a wide array of knowledge and experience. Luckily for Lawrenceville Smiles, most of Annes experience is in prosthodontic offices. Anne is proud to bring her passion for providing quality, cutting-edge care to every patient. In Annes spare time, she enjoys the practice of Yoga and Reiki. She also loves to garden, travel, and spend time with her family, which includes three gorgeous grandbabies.
Dental Hygiene Assistant Diane is a graduate of Mercer County Community College majoring in the Dental Assistant Program. She has been in the field of dentistry for over 33 years and is still going strong. Diane has direct contact with the hygiene patients and makes sure they are taken care of in a professional manner, of course with a Lawrenceville Smile on her face. When not in the office, Diane likes spending time with her husband, whether its going for walks on the beach at the Jersey Shore, watching 7 pm Jeopardy, or sitting on the balcony seeing the sun set as a new moon rises.
Patient Coordinator Rose has 28 years of experience in the dental field. She graduated from Bucks County Technical School with a certificate in Dental Assisting. She has worked in General Dental offices in the area as an assistant and patient coordinator and now enjoys working at a prosthodontic office. When not in the office Rose loves to cook, bake, and travel and spend time with her husband Greg, and 2 children, Allisia who is attending Temple University for Pre-Dental, and Nick who is a senior in High school and will be attending college in the fall for Computer Science. She also has a cat, Cocoa.
