Dr. Les completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas in 1969. After receiving his doctorate degree in dentistry from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1973, he served a two year residency in the United States Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base. Dr. Les is a constant student. He attends many continuing education opportunities throughout the year so that he can offer his clients the latest improvements in treatment and care.
Dr. Les and his wife, Shirley, were born and raised in the Kansas City area. They moved back to Lawrence in 1975, where they raised their two children, Kelly and Scott. His hobbies include photography and garden railroading.
Raised in Lawrence, Kelly Miller followed in her father's footsteps with a keen interest in dentistry. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 2000, and went on to earn a master's degree in Biomedical Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway, in 2002. Following the completion of this degree program, Kelly spent a few years working in the field of research for the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at KU. She received her doctorate degree in dentistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2009.
Dr. Kelly enjoys an active lifestyle and travels to new places whenever possible. If given the opportunity to learn something new, Kelly throws herself right in. She has maintained a longstanding interest in health and fitness, and science, and happily joins her dad in taking a preventative and proactive approach to patient care.
The Kansas Dental Board requires 60 hours of continuing education from approved sources every 24 months in order for a dentist to maintain licensure. Random audits are conducted by the state to ensure proper credentialing. Dr. Les Miller and Dr. Kelly Miller routinely exceed those requirements. They attend a variety of dental conventions and seminars to stay abreast of the latest developments in dentistry. Why? Because they share a deep commitment to bring those innovations to the patients of Lawrence Dental Solutions.
Here at Lawrence Dental Solutions, Dr. Les and Dr. Kelly work with clients not only from Lawrence, but from around the county. Our office treats people not just teeth, gums, and jaw joints. Our team works with clients to identify their goals and ensure the health, comfort, longevity, and appearance of each clients teeth and smile. We coordinate our schedule very carefully so that each patient is seen at his or her appointed time, and has time with Dr. Les Miller or Dr. Kelly Miller to discuss needs, receive advice, or undergo treatment.
We maintain a focus on each patients ultimate goals and needs, designing specialized treatment plans along with the patient, which may be executed right away, or over a pre-determined period of time. In this way, we facilitate beautifully functional smiles that last for years.
The relationship between dentist and patient is one that includes a good deal of trust. We want our patients to feel confident that they will never be over-treated. To create the kind of teamwork necessary for optimal oral health, we include our patients in the development of their treatment plans, providing all necessary information up front so that any recommendation is completely understood.
We also treat the patient as a whole, understanding that what goes on in the mouth will have an impact on the intricate body system. Dr. Kelly and staff are the best. I found Dr. Kelly after a pediatric dentist told us my daughter had 6 cavities of which I almost believed but then they blamed me for letting her drink too much juice ( we didn't drink juice) and shamed me. Dr.Kelly did not find 6 cavities and was very kind about showing me and helping us fix what she did have. Dr. Kelly even met us at her office at 8:30pm on a Saturday night to help us with a dental emergency. I tell everyone I know to see her. I've never been to a dentist that was so understanding about my fears. It's an hour drive away from me and I would gladly drive farther to go to her if needed.

My 15 mo old recently had some problems with his baby teeth and I was feeling so stressed about his little teeth. I had already visited a pediatric dentist and left feeling pretty defeated and worried about their suggestions for care. Lawrence Dental got us in right away and I left feeling way less mom guilt and optimistic about the treatment plan! They were so kind and took the time to hear my concerns and answer my questions. We will continue to make the hour drive to see them because they are well worth the trip! *Edited to add that our experience with Dr. Kelly has been truly amazing over the last year. We had monthly checks and ozone treatments for my youngest and she and her staff were always incredibly kind and patient. After a lifetime of dental anxiety, this is the first place that I feel totally comfortable bringing my kids and trusting the care. I can not express how thankful I am for everything they did for our family over the past year!

I recently visited LDS for the first time and thought for sure I was going to need a tooth pulled since I didn't want to get a root canal. After they evaluated my teeth, they found that I actually had some sinus issues that may be causing my tooth pain. I was treated with ozone therapy and the pain and sensitivity went away. Glad I researched and found this place!

I moved to Lawrence Kansas a year ago and was now in need of a Dentist. I found Lawrence Dental Solutions online and they had the best reviews. They have a Holistic approach to their Dentistry. They are not just concerned about your teeth, but about your entire health. I was very impressed and found Dr Les Miller to be a very cautious and gentle Dentist. He had some really good recommendations for me. The staff is professional and friendly. I will be using Lawrence Dental Solutions as my go to Dentists from now on.

Finally a dentist I feel is doing things the way I have researched to be the healthier way. I'm excited to pursue removing my amalgam fillings, and have a place I feel is safe to take my kids to. The initial assessment was amazingly thorough, and I felt like they were very honest and very friendly. Worth the drive for me!

I consider Lawrence Dental Solutions a wonderful find! We recently moved from Phoenix to Manhattan, KS and this was the closest holistic dentist I could find that shared my concerns regarding fluoride and provided effective, toxin-free alternatives. Dr Kelly, Whitney & Natalie have made us feel like old friends from our first, thoroughly comprehensive visit. I highly recommend this office. It's totally worth the 90 minute drive!

I have been a patient of Dr. Les Miller for about 12 years. He has provided repairs for eight of my molars and some other teeth. These repairs were spread over a number of years. I never felt any pressure to get a certain amount of work done. He allowed me to set the pace of the work, yet kept me informed as to the necessity and critical nature of certain repairs. I was fascinated by Dr. Miller's use of 3D computer imaging to fashion repair fillings. He and Dr. Kelly have put together a caring and efficient staff.
