Dr. Lavoie is a board-certified pediatric dental specialist, and thus a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has been providing personalized patient care in the Southcoast Massachusetts and Rhode Island area for over a decade. Besides being proud owner of Lavoie Pediatric Dentistry, he is on staff at Lifespan and CharterCare hospitals, and also serves as a clinical instructor at NYU Langone’s pediatric dental residency Rhode Island sites. In 2018 he was awarded with the Massachusetts Dental Society’s “Top Ten Under 10” award, and in 2019 he was voted “Top 40 Under 40” US Dentists by Incisal Edge magazine, both in recognition of his commitment to exceptional patient care and contribution to the local dental community. Dr Lavoie maintains his professional affiliations and stays current with the latest trends in the industry as an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Rhode Island Dental Association
Dr. Lavoie’s passion for healthcare was first indulged with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at UMass Dartmouth that culminated with a short career as a Registered Nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital. In the meantime, he completed a post-baccalaureate program at Harvard University to segue into his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University on Long Island, NY. There, he also earned a Master’s in Public Health and a Master’s in the Art of Public Policy. Afterward, he spent an additional two years of residency training at Stony Brook in their Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry. Upon graduation, he received the American Academy of Public Health Dentistry – Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health Award, and the New York State Foundation – Dean’s Award, amongst several other awards that you can find on display at his office
For several years after residency, Dr. Lavoie practiced pediatric dentistry in local private offices. It has always been his dream to open a pediatric dental practice of his own with which to serve the local community. As a result, he is extremely excited by the opportunity to meet you, to satisfy your children’s oral health needs, and help empower them to a lifetime of dental wellness

Every time I've been here with my daughter they are absolutely wonderful with her. Putting her at ease by explaining, showing and letting her feel all the instruments they will be using before they do anything. I would give more than five stars if I could.

The staff and Dr are great. Very friendly and not in a rush to get you out the door. We had Alana and I can't say enough positive things about her. From start to finish she was so sweet and amazing with my son. You can tell she really loves what she does. Highly recommend!!

Amazing experience. The front desk staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Brittany and Dr Lavoie were amazing with making our little girl feel comfortable at her first dental appointment. She was clearly apprehensive and they were patient and kind and took the time to let her adjust. Highly recommend Lavoie Pediatric Dentistry

I bring both my daughters here and it was my 4 year olds first time at a dentist. The staff did an amazing job to make sure she was comfortable and happy during the entire visit! My daughter loved it and was smiling the entire time! The staff is incredible and I would recommend coming here if your in need of a pediatric dentist for your little one!

Just had our first visit and my girls absolutely loved it!! They were super accommodating and were able to get all 3 of my girls in at the same time and in side by side chairs, it was my youngest first visit and she absolutely loved it and the staff! My 4 year old I was a little skeptical about seeing as she had been to the dentist before and was absolutely traumatized, but the staff at Lavoie made her so comfortable and at ease that she sat they by herself and let them do everything they needed and even said she can't wait to go back! I am beyond relieved we made the switch! If I could give them a million stars I would!

I took my 2-year-old daughter who is in the autistic spectrum, and usually gives us trouble whenever she needs any work done in her mouth. However the patience and care of Dra Alanah really made the difference, providing us care and fun altogether, making our experience unique and remarkable. Overall good experience. Office is clean and well maintained, staff are very friendly and warm with children making the experience of going to the dentist something fun instead of scary. Very helpful in finding other clinics if they can't conduct a service for you. Wait times are never long and everyone is friendly.

The staff is friendly and welcoming! I felt extremely comfortable bringing my son here. This is our 5th visit and I just feel so confident in the work that is done here and how professional this office is all around ! The office it's sparkling clean. Fastou was sooo kind and helpful with walking me through the process and really wanted to help make us feel at home asked me questions to better get to know my son. Alanha was SO SWEET and made Finley laugh throughout the cleaning process and was so gentle and professional. Dr. Lavoie was so patient and very gentle, informative and very professional. Wow is all I can say! I was more nervous about my son's first visit than he was, but the staff was AMAZING. Alanah (I hope I'm spelling this correctly!) in particular was born for this career - she was kind, warm and knowledgeable, prepping my son for each step of his very first cleaning and even letting him try on gloves while I spoke to Dr. Lavoie. Dr. Lavoie was also wonderful, compassionate, patient and kind. Also the office is beautiful, clean and well staffed. I am so grateful we were referred here, especially after contacting another local pediatric dentist and never receiving a call back. So fortunate for our good luck that this office is so responsive and amazing!
