Dr. Lavoie is a board-certified pediatric dental specialist, and thus a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has been providing personalized patient care in the Southcoast Massachusetts and Rhode Island area for over a decade. Besides being proud owner of Lavoie Pediatric Dentistry, he is on staff at Lifespan and CharterCare hospitals, and also serves as a clinical instructor at NYU Langone’s pediatric dental residency Rhode Island sites. In 2018 he was awarded with the Massachusetts Dental Society’s “Top Ten Under 10” award, and in 2019 he was voted “Top 40 Under 40” US Dentists by Incisal Edge magazine, both in recognition of his commitment to exceptional patient care and contribution to the local dental community. Dr Lavoie maintains his professional affiliations and stays current with the latest trends in the industry as an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Rhode Island Dental Association
Dr. Lavoie’s passion for healthcare was first indulged with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at UMass Dartmouth that culminated with a short career as a Registered Nurse at Charlton Memorial Hospital. In the meantime, he completed a post-baccalaureate program at Harvard University to segue into his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University on Long Island, NY. There, he also earned a Master’s in Public Health and a Master’s in the Art of Public Policy. Afterward, he spent an additional two years of residency training at Stony Brook in their Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry. Upon graduation, he received the American Academy of Public Health Dentistry – Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health Award, and the New York State Foundation – Dean’s Award, amongst several other awards that you can find on display at his office
For several years after residency, Dr. Lavoie practiced pediatric dentistry in local private offices. It has always been his dream to open a pediatric dental practice of his own with which to serve the local community. As a result, he is extremely excited by the opportunity to meet you, to satisfy your children’s oral health needs, and help empower them to a lifetime of dental wellness

Warm, friendly and inviting pediatric dentist. My 18 month old son enjoyed his first visit and even with some tears towards the end they made him feel so comfortable. I highly recommend.

My issue with this establishment is policy, not the employees. The dentist that my son saw was sweet & attentive & clearly a father himself, considering how well he communicated with my son. The problem is that a single missed appointment is grounds to no longer be seen; given that I submitted multiple online appointment requests meant for convenience & had to call in several times just to receive an appointment in the first place, this is insulting. The consideration required of the patients is not reciprocated & frankly, it's a stupid policy. It's too bad, my family genes include crooked teeth & pronounced canines, they would have made a killing off of the braces alone

Kelsie is a literal saint. I brought my daughter in for her second visit today. When I say that my 11 year old is terrified of the dentist....that is a wild understatement. After many failed visits to other local dentists a friend and my dentist recommended Lavoie. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes that anyone could deal with her fear. But much to my surprise Kelsie has successfully managed to clean her teeth twice now. Kelsie has worked through lots of tears, one near fainting spell, and one episode of hyperventilating. She is professional but also manages to be patient, kind, and supportive. I'm so grateful to finally get my daughter's dental health addressed. It's going to be a long road but we are in the BEST hands at Lavoie! Thank you, Kelsie!!!

My Great grandson had a wonderful experience at Lavoie Dentistry. He had a filling done and his front teeth cleaned and bonded. When we got to the car he commented that he really liked the doctor but loves the assistant.... So happy that we found such a great dentist for the kids!

This is the BEST pediatric dentist in Rhode Island!!! I highly recommend and I have 3 boys who often need assistance from the dentist (unfortunately). You cannot go wrong here, wonderful staff and doctors. The best I have seen!

Our daughter chipped her tooth and we left an after hours message for the office. It was returned and an appointment was held for us. We were squeezed in and seen promptly. Dr Gabby was amazing. She took her time to make our daughter comfortable and understand what was happening. We were in and out very quickly but felt very well taken care of. Everyone who works in the office is kind and knowledgable. We highly recommend it!

First visit today for my son and we had a great experience! Staff was extremely accommodating and very nice! Office was clean and kid friendly although my son is older (teen), but he enjoyed watching a movie as his teeth were cleaned. Dr. Lavoie was very patient and thorough as well as his assistants. Overall a wonderful experience. So glad we found this office!
