Dr. Laurie has been my son's dentist for 14 years and I cannot say enough good about her and her staff. She is kind and caring and makes my son very comfortable. The firs 8 years of his life he had terrible experiences with dentists. Dr. Laurie was a God sent gift to my family. Thank you!

I would like to start this review by saying I think the dentist is great. She's personable and the two times we saw her she did great with our child. However her downfall and why I would never recommend this dentist office is because of her office manager and staff. In November of 2021 I took my son in because he has multiple disabilities and finding a dentist to work with him is hard and we need someone that can operate in a hospital setting. When we left I was told the OR at CHKD was backed up but I would be contacted with paperwork and an appt. By the time December rolled around, I still hadn't heard anything so I emailed the office manger. She sent me some paperwork but stated they were allegedly still working on a OR date. In Feb, I emailed again and got no response regarding a OR date. By May 2022, we had no contact or update from the office despite having called and emailed several times. Toward the end of May the office finally called my husband back and reminded him that our son had a 6 month cleaning appt. Still no OR date. This was 6 months past our original office visit! My husband takes our son in for his "cleaning" which can't really be done without being under general anesthesia. When they checked out, all of a sudden they had a OR date for NOVEMBER!! That's a full year after we went in there for our first visit. My husband had to sign some paperwork and came home with the date. I immediately emailed the office manger and expressed my concern, knowing my son had numerous cavities that need attention quicker then November. She of course did not respond. I started calling every dentist within the state of VA to see if someone could get him in. I've spent so many hours and tears trying to get his teeth fixed and it's caused so much stress over something that should have been handled better by this office manager. We were allegedly added to a wait list after my husband text her, and of course there was never any update on that. When we called regarding teeth pain we were told to go the ER and maybe there was someone there that could help us. We finally found a dentist and my son had 10 cavities filled last week at a different hospital and had a wonderful experience. Special needs parents go through enough, we do not need added stress of people not communicating and fighting against you. I would not recommend this office or practice.

Dr Birsch and her staff are amazing. They have created a dental experience that makes dental work pleasurable for the kids! She is calm and patient. She talks to the kids and the parents and doesn't rush them out. She really is great! I wish she'd look at my teeth!

Very rarely does one find a dentist that makes a cleaning into a pleasant experience for an anxious child. Dr. Birsch and her staff are wonderful!

Stay away!! She charged us hundreds of dollars more than Medicaid allowed and made us pay it upfront before surgery. I had to file a grievance with Medicaid and won the grievance and they still refused to give me my money back. Eventually after contemplating a lawsuit they decided to return the money. I cannot imagine how many families this happens to. I cannot imagine how many families pay money that they probably truly can't afford when they should not have to. If you do decide to go with her office please check out your explanation of benefits and stay in contact with your insurance provider to make sure there are no Fraudulent charges.I think Dr. Laurie has a good heart, but The woman who works in the office and does everything involving billing is very rude and unprofessional. I don't think Dr. Laurie realizes the Incorrect billing practices of her office, and it is sad because she deserves someone who does the right things and treats her clients with respect.

Le TT me first start off by saying that Dr.Laura Birsh is an Skilled Licensed Professionaly Certified and Trained Dentist who can work with your child should they have special needs an she can do an awesome job for your kids who may Need Extension Work Done despite how young they may be etc. Don't get up here and try to lie, post fake reviews all because you have nothing else better than to do but to attempt a default slander of this doctors name! Even Look Smiles, now KNOWN as Spencers will refer u out toher as they did with me! They did not dare want to attempt clings , general anesthesia or what have you and out of the once a year cleanings they did for my children and yearly exams referring me to her was thee Best thing they have ever did for me ! This lady is Nothing but the truth! She smart, she knows exactly what she's doing very knowledgeable everybody in Norfolk General and Child know her, respect her and look forward to continuing to work with her and whatever patients she brings she's the bomb!

Today was my son real first dentist appointment he went somewhere else in the past and we was not happy however this office was very friendly each staff member greeted us upon entering the building. While getting his teeth clean he didn't like it at first but they made him feel really comfortable I'm so glad someone referred me to dr.Birsch office they're the best I'm thinking about sending my other children there!!

Both of my children have been there. All I can say is that they love Dr.Birsh , she was amazing with them . Also I could not thank Kris enough at front desk for all her hard work , she was amazing. She helped me out with the insurance/ bill , answering my questions. Agian this place is great!
