Dr. Lauren Standefer MAGD Dr. Lauren Standefer is a native Texan and proud of it! She graduated in the top of her class from Duncanville High School and then attended Texas A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in biomedical science. Dr. Standefer is a fourth-generation Aggie and very proud of her alma mater. Gigem Aggies!
While at Texas A&M, Dr. Standefer was very active in Fish Camp as a counselor and was a member of the national service organization, Omega Phi Alpha. Serving others was key in drawing Dr. Standefer to dental school, and she went on to attend the prestigious Baylor College of Dentistry. There, she served as vice president of the Texas Association of Women Dentists.
She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Collin and Dallas County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Spear Study Club, Modern Texas Dental Study Club and the Seattle Study Club. She completes more than 10 times the amount of required continuing education each year. Dr. Standefer has achieved her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and obtained her Mastership in June 2016. Dr. Standefer has been a Preferred Provider with Invisalign and can place dental implants. If you are ever interested in a new smile, Dr. Standefer has been trained in cosmetic dentistry and smile design through the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. She is well trained in functionality as well as aesthetics.
When Dr. Standefer isnt in continuing education or at the office, she enjoys live music, fitness, tennis and skiing. Dr. Standefer does volunteer work in the community. She also loves spending time with friends and family and her rescued pets. Dr. Standefer wants to make you smile by making your dental experience a positive one. Dr. Standefer feels blessed to work in dentistry and looks forward to assisting you with your oral health.
Dr. Jeffrey Pope Dr. Jeffrey Pope received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University in 2005, his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2009, and his Master of Science in oral biology and Certificate in Periodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2012. Dr. Pope is a Board Certified periodontist by the American Academy of Periodontology. In addition to maintaining a private practice limited to periodontics, minimally invasive surgery and implant dentistry, Dr. Pope is an adjunct clinical professor at Texas A&M College of Dentistry teaching implant placement and bone augmentation procedures to post-doctoral residents. Dr. Pope has authored and co-authored numerous publications that have appeared in periodontal, hygiene and dental journals. Dr. Pope has been named on D Magazines Best Dentist list and Texas Monthlys Super Dentists list since 2017.
Dr. David Roberts Dr. David Roberts received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois Dental School in 1985. He then spent two years in a dental residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
During his residency, he discovered his passion for dental and implant surgery. Dr. Roberts has extracted over 150,000 teeth and performed over 25,000 sedation procedures over the last 34 years of his career. He is currently serving as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He lectures nationally in the area of general dental surgery and travels to dental offices around the Metroplex to help serve his colleges.
When he is not taking care of his patients, Dr. Roberts enjoys spending time at home with his family. Each of his four children are involved in numerous sports and activities, which keep the Roberts family busy. Whenever he gets the chance, Dr. Roberts enjoys playing tennis and is known to take the occasional excursion Top Gun style as a passenger in a fighter jet.
Leticia Leticia has been in the dental field since 2004. As our schedule coordinator, she enjoys helping patients with multiple questions and concerns, and patients trust her with their needs. When Leticia is not at the office working hard, she is enjoying her first grandson and her two adult children, Marcos and Samantha. Leticia is very adventurous and loves to travel with her boyfriend, Sam, when possible, listening to live music, and spending time with her dog and cat.
Kelsey Kelsey, a native Texan, has been in dentistry since 2012. She has experience in assisting as well as a bachelors in dental hygiene. Kelsey enjoys helping patients overcome their fears of the dentist and improving their oral health. When shes not working, she enjoys time with her husband and kids. They love traveling and trying new places to eat.
MAGD stands for Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Mastership takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Less than 2% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Masters. When you see a dentist with MAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. I was looking for a new dental office that goes the extra mile. I am glad I found this place. I was sent some paperwork to fill out before I came. All online, no papers to print. By the time I got there, Leticia gave me a tour of the office and took me to where I got my treatment. I could sense that everyone in the office was happy and having a great time. There was no waiting and I really liked the vibe of the calming ocean themed paintings all over. Adriana then came in and got me settled in. I haven't been to many offices that gives you a blanket and keeps checking to make sure you're feeling comfortable and safe. But they do here. Afterwards, I met Dr. Shah who treated me. She was professional, warm, and thorough and I felt like instead of just treating the surface issue, she got to the root cause (pun intended of course ). She talked about diet, lifestyle factors and so much more! This was a much more holistic dental experience. Other dentists don't ever go into your health in such a holistic and comprehensive way. They want to treat the teeth and get out. Dr. Shah also kept checking during the treatment to make sure I felt comfortable. I learned that they are going to stop accepting most insurances and will be going fee for service. I'm actually glad. I've found that offices with dental insurance to have much more of a factory style approach to treating patients... Because they over diagnose to maximize insurance money and they still don't always get paid. I've had completely unnecessary treatments from some of them before. I'm also saving more by paying for just what I use and getting just the right treatment for me when they don't have to worry about trying to deal with insurance after. Overall this was a great visit and I'll be returning again.

I have always been really inpressed with Dr Standefer. She will not stop until every rhing meets her standards. Her attention to details and she expects the same from he people. I am looking forward to my first visit with Dr Standefer's office soon. I had no trouble filling out the patient forms. Meanwhile my x-rays and records have been requested & transferred from the office off my former dentist. As well, I was recently treated to a viewing of the office. I found it serene and personally very calming for someone who gets jitters at a dentist's office--I could tell I am going to be in great hands.

I had a great experience with all of the staff that saw me today. Such caring and knowledgeable people in a peaceful setting. As someone who suffers from dental office anxiety, it was a great experience even if I do require some pretty extensive work. I felt extremely comfortable and informed when I left.

Dr. Standefer and Associates provide incredible care. From the moment you enter the beautiful office you are treated with warmth and respect. They offer incredible amenities and comforts whether you are a bit intimidated by the dentist or an old pro. The staff are professional, skilled, and friendly. I highly recommend Dr Shah for all your families dental care. Not only is she an excellent Dentist, but a very caring individual to put you at ease. My family has been a part of Dr. Standefer's practice since she came to McKinney, and will continue to be.

I am so thankful to a friend of mine for recommending Dr. Standefer! Ever since a dental experience I had a few years ago, I've been very untrusting of dentists. Dr. Standefer is phenomenal! Her team explains everything in a way you can understand! They worked with me on treatment costs, insurance, scheduling!! Kat has such an amazing personality that radiates through the office! Leticia keeps the office spotless! Lindy and Dr. Standefer are so patient and help you prioritize any treatment needed! Kelsey during my gum therapy was so gentle! Yeah gum therapy and gentle in the same sentence! Who would think that!? The office is a bit away from my home but that doesn't stop me! I recommend them for everyone!

I'm not sure who are what everybody on here actually went through is true. But I had to go back to my old dentist to fix a crown they messed up. I was looking for a place that was close to my house . Thought this would be it . To my surprise it was a horrible experience . I had to go back 3 times for them to fix my crown that never got fixed right. My daughter got 3 cavities filled had to take her back 3 times cause they wasn't put in right . Her teeth was still hurting . Took her back to my old dentist in richardson , Tx all is well now . The staff is nice but dr standefer didn't try to help until they messed up twice already by the third time I was fed up and ready to go and never return. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. In-competent workers. You don't know if the workers was dentist assist or front office help the terrible job they did on our teeth.

I had one of the most pleasant experiences at the dental office, the other day. I needed a crown and Dr Browning was great! He was gentle and explained thoroughly each step of the procedure. After treatment I was able to work without any discomfort. Definitely a wonderful addition to a great team!
