I participate in various continuing education meetings throughout the year through the UNC Orthodontic Alumni Association, the AAO Continuing Education Webinars, and Maryland Oral Surgery Associates Study Club. This allows me to incorporate the highest quality and the latest in technological advancements to my patients care.
We are conservative in our treatment approach.Not every individual requires orthodontic care; however, when treatment is indicated, we recommend the most conservative, proven and effectivetechniques available for each type of case.

We use only appliances and techniques that are state-of-the-art:We utilize digital X-ray technology to minimize exposure to radiation. We are also one of the few practices in our area to achieve Invisalign ELITE status.
We run on time!Have you ever been to a doctors office and you were made to wait for what seemed like forever? What is it that makes the doctors time more valuable than your own? Since our patients are seen on a regular basis, it is especially important that we run on time. It is rare that you are made to wait more than 15 minutes past your scheduled visit.
Flexible financial policies and Insurance processing:We understand that the thought of paying for orthodontic treatment can be daunting. We do not want financial obstacles to prevent you from receiving needed treatment. For this reason, we offer flexible, no-interest payment options. We also offer a 5% discount to accounts that pay their treatment fee in full at the start of treatment. Of course, well work with your insurance provider and help you get the most out of your insurance benefits.
We cant wait!Orthodontics is fun! Most of our former patients tell us that their treatment was easier than they expected. The devices that we use today are smaller and much less painful than they were in the past. Many of the devices come in colors which the patient may choose!

I started my journey almost 2 year's ago with Dr. Defoe for my invisalign treatment and I've had the BEST experience, and the BEST customer service! I am VERY satisfied with the results, her and her team took very good care of my needs. Laurel Orthodontics is a comfortable atmosphere and I always had a good laugh! I highly recommend Dr Defoe, you will not be disappointed!

Dr Defoe and her team are amazing! From start to finish, I received top class treatment on every visit. They took the time to thoroughly explain all the processes; and allowed you to make informed decisions. AMAZING!! First the service was exceptional. They get the job done and very kind and understanding throughout the way. Dr.Defoe and everyone were so kind every visit and made sure I knew every visit what is going on and what step I was on. 11/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking into getting braces.

Dr. Defoe and her team are excellent. I went in for my consultation, and she was able to get me in the next day to apply my braces. She didn't waste my time or keep me in braces longer than needed. I recommend her to anyone who's looking to correct their smile.

Dr. Defoe and her team gave me, by far, the most thorough and professional consultation I have ever received. She readily answered any questions I had. She was engaging and straightforward. All in all, I can tell that 1) she cares about the quality of her work, and 2) she wants you to be able to understand and fully participate in your treatment plan. I highly recommend giving Dr. Defoe a visit.

5 Stars are not enough to rate Dr. Defoe and the staff at Laurel Orthodontics. From the first time I came in, everyone has been wonderful! The office is clean, sanitary and beautiful! I was hesitant to get the Invisalign treatment in the beginning but they made every step a pleasant experience. Dr. Defoe now feels more like a friend than my orthodontist. What a happy place this office is. And I've never had to wait to be seen! Highly recommended! Karen Prater

I'm so happy I choose this Orthodonist! They are professional, clean and very nice ! Not to mention Dr. Defoe is great and explains everything that is going on with your teeth ! My teeth are already looking great and I just got my braces ! I highly recommend .

Dr. Defoe and her friendly team have taken care of my teeth for over 4 years! Dr. Defoe is an extremely compassionate and talented professional. She and her staff truly care about their patients. I recently had a dental emergency and she quickly responded to my message. Not only was Dr. Defoe flexible, she was able to fix it without a single complaint.

I have always had a great experience when coming to this office for every appt. and felt it was important to share. Dr. Defoe and her staff are very personable yet professional. The entire experience is always positive, from the front desk to getting the braces on and later removed. They talk you through the process, answer any and all questions you may have. I have personally sent several of my colleagues and family members to this office and everyone loves the team. I wouldn't consider no other orthodontic group. I struck gold when I found them. My son is up next. Thanks Dr. Defoe and team for all that you do.
