Laurel Morello, DDS Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Morello has been a proud San Diego dentist for nearly 40 years. Dr. Morello was accepted with early admission toCase Western Reserve University School of Dentistryand was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree along with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1979. After graduating from dental school, she completed a one-year general practice residency at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital, which involved additional training in oral surgery, periodontal surgery, general anesthesia, endodontics, cosmetic dentistry and childrens dentistry. In 1980, she moved to San Diego, California, to begin her career at her El Cajon dental practice.
Early on, Dr. Morello was determined to be well-educated and well-rounded in her field. She studied many disciplines in dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. In order to offer the most comprehensive treatment to her patients, she delved into an in-depth study of, and advanced training in TMD and TMJ disorders. Dr. Morello has extensive training and expertise in microscopic dentistry, which is a very unique and admirable craft in the general dentistry field. The microscope allows her to magnify the tooth so she can pay attention to the finest bit of detail. Along with the guided use of the microscope, Dr. Morello has advanced training in endodontics (root canal therapy), soft and hard tissue dental lasers, and implant restoration to enhance the patient experience and deliver the best possible dentistry. She carries certifications in Airway management and ALF certification. She remains active in the dental professional community as a presenter at the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry on aberrant airway function and a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, Academy of Laser Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The ALF Academy and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She continues to expand her knowledge base in the field of sleep-disordered breathing. Dr. Morello volunteers quarterly as a dentist for the 1000 Smiles organization, a Rotary International program in Ensenada, Mexico.Dr. Morello has a very innate yet trained eye in the artistic field of dentistry. She comes from a lineage of professional artists. Her mother has had a lifelong career as a commercial artist, and her brother is a gifted pianist and professor of fine arts represented by the Forum Gallery in NYC. She attributes her passion and creativity for dentistry to her love of art and fervor to help others help themselves. In her healing approach to dentistry, education of the patient is a key factor. She notes that the mouth is the portal to the body and a balancing point for the head and neck region and down to the toes.
Dr. Morello has balanced her career of 40 years with raising three children and a fitness lifestyle. Her daughter, Michelle, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences from Cal Poly Technical University in San Luis Obispo and her dental hygiene degree at Southwestern University, where as valedictorian, she was appointed an honorary Psi Epsilon lifetime membership. Michelle has recently donated the gift of a lifetime two grandchildren! Dr. Morellos son Paul currently attends Case Western Reserve Dental School following in her footsteps, and her son Anthony enjoys writing and performing comedy at the local comedy stores. Dr. Morellos pastimes include playing piano, reading, writing and solving puzzles. She pursues fitness eagerly through cycling, swimming, hiking, yoga and dancing. Losing a dear friend to leukemia compelled her to participate in Team in Training, a fitness training program involving fundraising for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and which is also a great way to stay fit through cycling, triathlon and running, all while saving lives!
Dr. Laurel had the prestigious honor of presenting to the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry at the Chicago midwinter meeting on Cranial facial growth and development as it relates to aberrant airway function. Here, she shared the evolution of why we are in the current crisis of sleep breathing disorders and how dentists play an integral part in recognizing, treating and referring to improve these quality-of-life conditions.The presentation was part of a greater group of five dedicated dentists in pursuit of higher learning in the field of dental sleep medicine and was well received by this prestigious organization.
Dr. Manveen Boparai Associate Dentist Dr. Manveen Boparai is a graduate of UCSF and has been practicing dentistry for almost 20 years. She is a compassionate dentist who enjoys working with people of all ages. She takes pride in her communication with patients and her attention to detail. Dr. Boparai takes her time to actively listen to and understand her patients needs, which enables her to create treatment plans tailored to achieve the highest level of personalized and comfortable care.Dr. Boparai is married and has two children. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and watching movies.
Vicky Front Office Manager I was raised in Lakeside and went on to raise my family there. My career in the dental field began in 1996, and to this day, I love it! Spending time with my two beautiful daughters and my amazing grandsons is my favorite thing to do; however, Disneyland and sports are both close seconds! I will go the extra mile for you, our patient, in attending to your insurance needs, scheduling and providing caring support. I truly enjoy the unique opportunity I have as the front office manager in the dynamic and welcoming office of Dr. Laurel Morello.
Angela Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) I have over fifteen years of experience in the dental field. Originally working as a dental assistant, I went on to attend Southwest College dental hygiene program, where I graduated with the top grade point average in my class. I am the mother of two children, and I enjoy hiking and kickboxing.

Having been away from the dentist for over two years due to other medical demands and the COVID pandemic, I returned to Dr. Morello's Office with some trepidation. But, as always, all went smoothly and well, and my recheck up and cleaning went without a hitch (or a guilt tripe!) and most expertly and efficiently to say the very least! Eighteen X-Rays and a thorough cleaning, and all delivered efficiently and expeditiously with smiles and good humor all around. I was made to feel at home and comfortable, and would rate this practice and its medical personnel as the very, very best as well as friendliest in "the business"! Praise and Thanks all around, and I am actually looking forward to my next appointment later this month for a needed deep cleaning.

This has been my family's dentist for as far back as I can remember. Now married with 3 children & they're all patients of Dr Morello. We are now leaving state and that is one of the hardest parts about leaving, is finding another dentist that can even compare to them!

This review is long overdue. I've been going to this dentist office for a few years. It all starts at the front desk with Vicky who is so friendly and helpful. My hygienist Angela who is very sweet and cleans teeth so well. And Dr. Morello, who's knowledgeable and a great doctor. Highly recommend this office!

Very nice staff, everything was on time and extremely professional. We are a family of 4, they were nice and patient with the kids and worked hard to make them comfortable and happy with the work being done with their teeth. Overall, this is a great place to go take care of your teeth.

My partner and I have been patients of Dr. Morello's for several years. The staff and Dr. Morello are wonderful, knowledgeable and focused on patient care. Fortunately I don't have problems with my teeth and I believe that's due in large part to the importance of preventative care that Dr. Morello and her staff have instilled in me. In addition, Dr. Morello studies airway dentistry (how we breathe, what factors into sleep problems) and was instrumental in starting my partner on the path to seeking treatment and improving her overall health.

Very happy that I found Dr. Morello! Everyone there is very friendly, the office has a "homey" feel to it. Dr. Morello spent some time with me explaining her approach to dentistry and told me her plan to treat my dental problems, I really learned a lot and was actually excited about fixing my problem! Who would have thought going to the dentist would be exciting?

Dr Morello and her staff have been my dentist for years. Dr Morello is very personable, equally important at least to me, she's a perfectionist, a most important quality to have when it comes to the person who is working on your teeth, one of the first things people see and critical to our health. All her hygienists are excellent, my teeth are always sparkle clean. I Highly recommend her:-).
