Dr. Shera Newcomb has been a part of Laurel Dental Care since 2011 and has been practicing dentistry since 2005. She earned both her undergraduate degree in Biology and dental degree at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Newcomb enjoys working with all members of the family and always puts patient care and comfort as her top priority. Dr. Newcomb strives to maintain education in the latest dental advancements and procedures so that she can provide her patients with the best care possible. She annually attends continuing education courses in implant, cosmetic, periodontal, and restorative dentistry so that the most current options are available to her patients. Dr. Newcomb prides herself on making your visit a comfortable experience and will do her best to make sure your dental needs are taken care of painlessly.
Dr. Newcomb is originally from Manchester, Kentucky and currently lives in Corbin. She is married to Dr. John Newcomb and has two daughters, Laura and Harper. She is a member of the Southeast Dental Society and serves on the Board of Directors for the Whitley County Health Department. In her spare time, Dr. Newcomb enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

The care provided by the dentist was great. However, In april of 2022, I was given a treatment plan by the office manger stating the services I would receive and the total cost of the services which totaled $1,034.I did not have the money to pay for said services. Hanna signed me up for dental care credit to pay for all the services in advance. I received the last service sometime in June. Now, in November, I am receiving a bill for 105.40. The officer manager now says it was only estimate of services and I owe the money. I did not receive any additional services. She did not tell me that it was only an estimate of services and the price could be more at the time I paid for everything in advance. In fact she assured me that I was paying for the total cost. I took her word for things back when I originally received services. Additionally the office workers have trouble with scheduling appointments. Several of my appointments where missing from their schedule and/or had been moved to other dates/times

New patient here. Came in with a broken lower back tooth with a cavity. Severe dental phobia. Never had a filling, only cleanings and one deep cleaning at another office. Dr. Newcomb explained my options then heard me rant in my anxiety ridden way all about my anxiety of this or that and then offered the option she felt would work best with me. She showed care and compassion and excellent listening skills. Not just dismissing me as some have done before. Today was my filling. I was very nervous going in but her calm and caring demeanor at the consultation helped. Right away I was nervous and she expressed nothing but calm and consistent words that this is what she will do and we can stop, we can take breaks, it's all in my control. Which you never feel in any medical environment. One thing I requested was not to be numbed. I had a good sized cavity and a quarter missing from my tooth from the break. She never tried to push it on me to get the injection. She took her time, explaining every step, and checking my comfort level on each new area or step she was taking. The very minor and slight twinge of pain I felt only a couple of times, she stopped immediately, noticing my eyes twitching. I never gave her our signal to stop. She paid enough attention to my expressions to know what I was feeling. Honestly, I could have kept going, it wasn't that painful, but her concern was so comforting. Once she was finished drilling I could have cried happy tears because I kept expecting it to get worse but it never did. She also explained her choice of tools as it related to my request not to be numbed, which shows she wasn't trying to do what was fastest, but what was better for me as the patient. I cannot express enough to anyone reading this how highly I recommend her. If you have to wait, get on her schedule. If you have dental phobias like I do, she may be the best in our area to care for you. She was so professional, knowledgeable, and overall calming and encouraging, I will 100% make her my new forever dentist. I wish there were more like her out there! Also, the staff I encountered were all friendly and helpful and kind as well. If you're looking for a new dentist, go here. See her. She doesn't even know how great she is and how much she helped me! You will not regret it. I literally walked out smiling so big.

Highly recommended. Especially if you were traumatized by a past dentist. Very skilled and professional staff, the lot of them. Excellent work and care. Best dentist I've been to in 30 years.

The workers qre unable to keep qppointments with patients. Then when they go to reschedule it is weeks out. I did not cancel my appointment they did. Not professional They were able to move the appointment up closer to the original.

Awesome, Dr. Bingham and his staff are very knowledgable and informative, very caring, courteous. They are absolutely wonderful, the best in town. I wouldn't go anywhere else, they do excellent work.

They actually do not offer any emergency services at all. I called after being in the ER and was told they do offer any same day emergency appointments.

Highly impressed!!! Plus I was in need of a dentist right away. I knew I could not wait or I would be in serious trouble. Got me in 11 a.m. and I called at 9:30 a.m.
