Aloha and welcome to our dental practice! I am Laura A. Suzuki, DDS, the Dentist and Owner of our newly renovated office in the Kuakini Medical Plaza.For more than 35 years, I have enjoyed being able to help my patients achieve optimal form and function with their dental needs and concerns. Growing up, I was influenced by my father, who was an MD in InternalMedicine, into pursuing the health profession. Science was my favorite subject and I also love art and being creative with my hands, so Dentistry was the logical choice for me. From the time I attended Roosevelt High School, I knew that I wanted to become a dentist. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and then obtained my dental degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Throughout the years of practicing dentistry, I have been blessed with wonderful patients and an awesome dental team, some of whom have been with me for 30 years! As far as my favorite pastimes, I love to travel and explore different destinations and cuisines. I also enjoy doing fun things with family and friends, playing with my cats, reading, and trying to live a healthy lifestyle.
Hi my name Carla C. Fukumoto, DDS and I am a general dentist with over 30 years of experience. I joined Dr. Suzuki in the 90s and have enjoyed the partnership with this office. Dentistry encompasses my love of helping people, my interest in the sciences, and my love for creating things by hand. I graduated from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, earning the distinction of being named a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Continuing education includes learning from the R.V. Tucker gold study clubs, and studying with ASIRD Implant study group. I keep busy with family, and my interests include making haku lei and holiday wreaths, gardening, and being in nature, be it the ocean or the mountains. I volunteer my time serving on the Executive Council and the Board of Trustees of the Hawaii Dental Association, Co-Chairing the Membership Engagement Program, and being a member of the Dental Education Program.
Hi my name is Nina Tran, DMD and I am a general dentist that joined Dr. Suzuki and Dr. Fukumoto's practice August 2021. I could not be more excited to join this wonderful team and take care of all the patients. I graduated from Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Dentistry and have been working in Hawaii since 2018. Myfavorite part about dentistry is seeing the patients reaction and gain of confidence after their smile is restored to better health, esthetics, and function. The best feeling is when patients are happy, because that means I was able to impact them in a positive way. I am also an active member of the Hawaii Dental Association, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Delta Sigma Delta (dental fraternity). When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, playing with my Pomeranian Chubbs, and snowboarding. But above all the rest, I am now a mother to a beautiful baby boy. I am also fluent in Vietnamese and enjoy learning how to cook traditional Vietnamese dishes!
My name is Cathy Yuen and I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Dental Hygiene. I have been working as a Registered Dental Hygienist with Dr. Laura Suzuki and Dr. Carla Fukumoto since 1990.
Around the office, I am known as the Pastry Chef as I will bake a dessert of choice for each employees birthday. I love Jesus, my hubby of 39 years, two grown sons, two lovable dogs and all things K-drama! A couple fun facts about me: I dont know how to swim and I have never ridden on a Ferris Wheel (because I am afraid of being stuck at the top...lol).
Hi My name is Val Lum DeRego and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist for Dr. Suzuki and Dr. Fukumoto. What I love most about my job would be the special friendships that I've made along the course of my career.
As a hygienist in college, we were taught to educate and promote good health. At Dr. Suzuki and Fukumoto's office, Ive enjoyed meeting so many people from different walks of life whom I would never have met otherwise. They have taught me so many valuable life lessons that are absolutely priceless. And this is the reason why I love my job. CANDY is why I choose the dental field. As a kid, I ate so much of it that I spent many hours in the dental chair so I thought hey wouldnt it be better on the opposite side of the chair. So here I am 34 years and counting. By the way, Im still eating sweets.
I have 4 fur babies that I love to brag about. I have 2 Shihtzu Maltese, 1 crazy pug, and a sweet rescue Labrador named Honey. I love to craft in my spare time. You name it I've probably tried it. Ive worked with clay, sewing, crocheting, jewelry making, and paper crafting. I love traveling and I hope to continue to travel once I retire.
Aloha! My name is Yeunhee Cho and I have been working as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2018 upon graduating from the U.H. at Manoa with a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. Becoming a dental hygienist was a long and winding road for me since I began my study in my 40s I also graduated from a university in Seoul, Korea, and worked as a math tutor for students.
I decided to become a dental hygienist because I wanted a new challenge in my life, and I always wished to get involved in the healthcare field to help others. My job as a dental hygienist allows me to meet new people and I am fortunate to have made many new friends.

As with all other visits, the entire experience has always been very professional. Met the new Dental Hygienist, who made me feel comfortable as soon as I sat in the chair. Really appreciate her because she kept me informed what she was doing, and kept checking with me to ensure I was okay. Also want to recognize the ladies that take care of the front desk. All of them are always courteous the moment I step into the office.

I love the text message reminders, as well as the friendly & efficient staff there. They let me know the expected length of time I may be there so I can plan my day. The services they provide has always been excellent and Dr. Laura Suzuki has always upgraded the equipment & implements in her office with the latest technology to improve their services to patients and streamline methods of performing tasks by her staff. Sanitization throughout the office and waiting area gets an A+ rating from me! Her friendly staff always makes you feel welcome. You don't feel rushed when receiving dental care there.

Very professional and respectful of time. The scheduler made sure I was given an appointment in a time slot that worked for me. There was a thorough New Patient information form, which can be done on line to save time in the waiting room, but of course, if you prefer to fill our your form, they have hard copies in the office. Having filled out the form at home, there was hardly any wait time, maybe five minutes. Dr. Suzuki's practice is large, there are two other dentists, so there are several treatment rooms. I was ushered strait into the room, and within a couple of minutes, a nurse came in to do the xrays. Dr. Suzuki is very thorough and a full set was done, since this was my first time since returning to Hawaii six months ago. Then Dr. Suzuki came in (again, hardly any waiting) and checked my teeth against the xrays, and verbally gave information to be recorded by the assistant. She is fast and gentle, and she showed me a different kind of floss, which was very effective. The only discomfort I felt was during the xray process, there are some very sensitive areas under our tongues that hurt when the xray plate is in place. Even with the necessary probing, Dr. Suzuki's work was painless. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, she did discover a decaying tooth in the back of my mouth, so I will have to return for more work, but because I love food, I have to love my teeth, and I am confident Dr. Suzuki is the best way to take care of them. She is in the Kuikini Medical Plaza, if you schedule in an off hour, there is really plenty of parking.

I have been going to Dr. Suzuki for a few years now and I am so incredibly happy. Dr. Suzuki and her staff are truly amazing. They made going to the dentist something that I no longer dread. In fact I look forward to it, as I know I am taking care of my teeth. Kind, supportive, professional, knowledgeable, experienced are just a few of many positive words I would apply to Dr. Suzuki and the entire staff. I thank Dr. Suzuki and her staff for taking such incredible care of me, I am truly grateful.

As always, for the past 30+ years, Dr. Suzuki and her staff have preformed flawlessly. They are all exceptionally cheerful and always willing to help in any way. I always look forward to seeing and talking with Dr. Suzuki. An exceptional dental office that is run by exceptional people.

My husband & I have been seeing Laura Suzuki for almost 27 years if not more, our son about 21 years.....obviously we trust & are very grateful for her expertise, professionalism, caring & thoughtful wisdom in dentistry....We are very comfortable there and the persona of everyone that works there affords the same qualities in their own individual duties.....thank you very much Laura, Kathy, Val, Bea. Kylie, Maile, Iris & those I may have missed for taking awesome care of us all these years, we are truly grateful!!!

Dr. Suzuki's office staff are the best!! My children see Dr. Suzuki and I see Dr. Carla Fukumoto and they are both wonderful!The office has cutting edge technology that makes everything convenient and smooth! They do their best to squeeze you in for emergent appointments and will go out of their way to accomodate you! They are so gentle that most times I fall asleep...even during procedures!!!! I love this office!!!

Great dental persons work on your mouth...sometimes w might benefit from having them close their mouths as it isn't distracting. Perhaps earphones of music would be better.
