Dr. Thomas J. Gulino is the eldest son of Thomas and Elizabeth Gulino of Hoboken, NJ. In 1964, his parents moved to Jackson, NJ, where he grew up and graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 1980. Both of Dr. Gulinos parents were award and trophy winning bowlers for a number of years, so naturally, Dr. Gulino acquired an interest in bowling in his early years, as well as a love of chess, model railroading and snow skiing. Dr. Gulino also dabbled in acting, in high school and was voted best actor as a senior superlative by his fellow classmates. Dr. Gulino is also an excellent dancer and he won his high schools 13th annual dance contest as a sophomore, thus acquiring the nickname Disco Gulino!!!
Upon graduating college, Dr. Gulino enrolled in dental school at UMDNJ-NJDS in Newark, NJ, attending from 1986-1990. After graduating dental school, Dr. Gulino immediately entered private practice. In June 1994, Dr. Gulino acquired his certification in the Art and Science of Oral Implantology after successfully completing a 10 month course. He acquired a private practice in March 1997 and ran a vibrant and financially successful practice in Clark, NJ., until December 2017. After 14 months of semi-retirement, in February of 2019, Dr. Gulino returned to the practice of Dentistry and has now joined the Staff at Lasting Smiles of Whitehouse Station, NJ.
Dr. Amish Patel is a graduate of Temple Universitys Kornberg School of Dentistry. His academic aptitude allowed him to A the the first and only student at this university to complete his undergraduate degree in 2 years. Dr. Patel has been practicing dentistry since 2006.
His early childhood exposure to dentistry helped him accelerate through dental school and go on to excelling in his profession. Amongst his peers, Dr. Patel is recognized as a dynamic and hard working professional who owns and operates 10 dental offices and is committed to excellence in dentistry.

Two previously made cleaning appointments were canceled by the office because they didn't have a hygienist that day. Third attempt at scheduling a cleaning, and confirming the appointment, with a reminder text from the office that same day, I get to the office 5 minutes before the appointment, and the office is closed! Not a very well run place. A voicemail was left asking for a return call from the dentist to discuss these issues. Still waiting for the call back after 4 days. Be very wary about this office.

Dr. Husain is fantastic. She is very professional, soft spoken, and honest. The first time she saw me she figured out where my pain was coming from and addressed it quickly and without drilling into me! She is a great addition to lasting smiles.

Dr. Husain is amazing. Very personal and very attentive. Answered all my questions with a lot of patience. The front desk explained all my insurance benefits in great detail. Was a super visit. Will be recommending all my friends and family

No matter what time you call, they don't answer. You can call during business hours and they won't answer instead sending you to voicemail asking you to leave a message so they can "call you back." Don't hold your breathe because you absolutely will not receive that call back. Pathetic business if you ask me.

When I walked in the reception was very nice and professional. The establishment was very clean and nice. We didn't wait long. The hygienist was exceptionally professional. The dentist was very knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend this place. I appreciated their patience and kindness.

I will never come here again, I will not say any names but this dentist doesn't mind his own business and will mid conversation leave the building to take pictures of cars out front. I understand cars are temporarily in the fire lane, but that doesn't mean you have to take pictures of people and their cars.

Take your teeth and money elsewhere . Any review before this current dentist/owner took over May be valid who knows . All I know is when this new guy took over he ruined my teeth . He started work and didn't finish , I have holes in my teeth he created and didn't fill or cap -his office was such a disaster and disorganized that no one could call me back to re-schedule . His dental assistant and his receptionist actually walked out on him on the day I had a scheduled appointment. They did him dirty because he's not a nice or professional person . Stop lying about the professionalism at this office it's a joke. Oh and recently the dentist spends his days/mornings taking pictures of vehicles outside the Starbucks ?? Who the heck has time for that ? How could you trust a dramatic drama man seeking attention and wanting to get you in trouble for "stopping" to get a coffee . Ridiculous!!

If I could give this place a negative star review, I would in a heart beat. They do not even deserve a one star rating. The receptionists and dentist are both extremely unprofessional. They never answer the phone, they never call back after leaving voicemails, and cancel your appointment at the last minute despite calling the morning of to confirm it. My mother has been going here since September due to an infection and here we are a less than a week before January with the infection still ignored and untreated. When she finally was prescribed medication, she needed to call to get prescribed a different one since the one the dentist prescribed was giving negative side effects. Called the office, NO ANSWER. Therefore, she is now without medication AGAIN. The recording on the voicemail says that they'd be back today, 12/27/21 at 8am, and here we are 2pm with no one answering the phone. In addition, she was waiting for a permanent bridge to arrive in office and the staff said they would call when it was received. Weeks later she goes to her next appointment and the dentist says that they have HAD the bridge for some time now, but no one ever called to inform her of that. Absolutely HORRIBLE service & professionalism, with 100% no regard towards their patients. Absolutely DISGUSTED.

The first thing I think of about Lasting Smiles in Whitehouse Station,, specifically Dr. Thomas Gulino, is that we wish we found him sooner! My whole family loves him! There's my husband, who needed to have a few things done, including bridge work, my two boys ages 11 and 21 have also needed work other than cleanings, and myself, currently in between right and left bridge work, and also needing quite a lot of other complicated work. We are all under the care of Dr. Gulino for all of this which he consistently performs with top knotch skill (his extensive medical and dental knowledge impresses me even more each time I'm in the office - I'm a nurse) and always with such ease and efficiency. This guy knows what he's doing and I always feel at ease in the chair knowing I'm in the absolute best hands. That's never been a concern of any of us, including my youngest. He loves him, (even when it has to involve pulling) as do we all. Dr. Gulino, I just realized, is very clever in how he keeps you at ease - AND coming back! He's hysterical! He's got a sense of humor that's consistent, it's even there when he's extremely busy. Hell just look at you and make a funny face just when you're not really in the position to laugh. Just when you must be thinking this dentist couldn't sound any better - I haven't gotten to what really makes us comply with consistent treatment, even when we know it might hurt, is the fact that Dr Gulino also sings! That's right folks! On top of his extensive, perfected medical and dental skills, he also has quite the library of lyrics to ALL of the cheesy easy listening songs that must be on repeat, an absolute prerequisite to him being able to focus, in his brain as well! I told you - he's quite impressive. BTW, so is his dental hygienist, Shelby, who also impresses me with her extensive education. She's answered questions I didn't even know I had. She is always extremely professional, thorough but careful and patient! It feels great to have such confidence in who's providing dental care for our entire family. Lasting Smiles in Whitehouse will definitely have a lasting relationship with us. We thank Dr. Gulino, Shelby, as well as the entire staff, who are also consistently polite and professional. It's an extremely well run office where you always feel at ease. Great, great job to all of you!
