You probably have at least one minor imperfection in your smile that youd love to correct. It doesnt matter how small it can be, its there, and you can see it. Maybe its a small chip or crack in your front teeth. Or perhaps you have tooth decay, and you are looking for the most aesthetic solution.

We describe composite resin bonding (commonly known as tooth bonding) as the process of bonding a tooth-color composite resin materials to the surface of the teeth (for example, as a composite veneer) or inside of a prepped tooth (as a filling). This cosmetic material is biocompatible and made to mimic natural enamels texture and color.

Tooth bonding can last many years with proper care, so we consider it a desirable and affordable solution to these problems. However, before making a decision, patients need to know that this material is not stain-resistant. So those thinking about enhancing their smile with veneers should also consider the porcelain alternative to get more durable results.

We advise those patients getting tooth bonding to avoid certain foods and beverages (like tea or coffee) that can heavily stain the restoration. They dont need to take further steps to care for these restorations besides brushing, flossing, and routine visits to Laser Dentistry to ensure oral health. If the composite bonding gets stained or just needs a little enhancement, our team can replace the restoration to keep the smile shining!

Tooth-colored fillings are often strengthened by the use of laser tools. Dr Clarke uses lasers to kill bacteria and to provide a tight seal around the composite filling. This seal avoids a possible marginal leakage in the restoration, which can compromise the future of the filling.

Its challenging to keep your smile clean when teeth arent in the right position. Crooked teeth prompt dental plaque deposits. And this can trigger oral health issues such as cavities or gum disease. In addition to that, a misaligned tooth can interfere with your normal occlusion (bite), which can cause a temporomandibular joint pain disorder.

Apart from the biological problems, crooked teeth can also have a terrible impact on your social life. Do you feel embarrassed when you have to smile in a work meeting or talk to new people? If you are unhappy with your smile, everybody notices it. And you are well aware of this.

You have thought about orthodontic treatment, but you dont fancy the idea of having a mouthful of metallic brackets and wires for two years. Luckily, at Laser dentistry, we have a solution to your nightmare. We are proud to offer the Invisalign system. This revolutionary straightening method uses effective and discrete clear aligners to get the smile of your dreams.

Say goodbye to bulky metal brackets. Invisalign uses custom-made, clear aligners that apply gentle pressure to shift your teeth into the correct position. You need to wear the aligners at least 20 to 22 hours a day, and you will change the set of aligners every 10 or 15 days. In most cases, Invisalign treatment takes up to 18 months to complete, and the outcome is a bright and straight smile.

The Invisalign system has countless advantages, but by far, the most important one is how discrete the aligners are. The clear aligners are almost imperceptible: nobody will notice you are wearing them. They are extremely thin, and they fit perfectly in your teeth, so you will smile, talk and interact with no reservations.

As the aligners are removable, you can take them out for eating, brushing, and flossing, and even for an important meeting or event. There are no diet restrictions, so you will be able to enjoy your favorite foods throughout the treatment. Say hello again to apples and sticky sweets!

Dr. Clarke is a certified Invisalign provider and is qualified to determine if you are a suitable candidate for this system. He will assess your case with a clinical examination, x-ray images, and photos. If this system works for you, your clear aligners will be made based on the treatment plan elaborated by Dr Clarke. With 3D technology, you will be able to see the results before the treatment gets started!

Turning your current smile into the smile you have always wanted is more affordable and straightforward than you might think. One option is teeth whitening treatments. A professional teeth whitening performed by a dentist can be beneficial when teeth are stained and discolored. However, when further issues, such as chips, cracks and gaps, affect your teeth, the solution might be porcelain veneers.

These thin shells of porcelain, known as veneers, are custom-made to blend your existing teeth perfectly. This procedure ensures a natural look on any smile. Bonded onto the front of the actual teeth, veneers cover usual imperfections that might be causing low self-esteem.

Porcelain veneers are custom-made to cover natural teeth entirely. They are a fantastic option for those looking for a dramatic smile makeover. The procedure takes fewer visits than most patients might expect. In just two or three visits, they can get the smile of their dreams. Veneers are reliable solutions, and with proper care, you can expect them to last many years. Porcelain veneers are a conservative option, as they require minimum alterations to the teeth. And last but not least, they are also stain-resistant, which makes them a better choice than composite resin bonding.

This treatment performed by our professional team offers amazing bleaching results. In one visit to the office, patients can whiten their smiles dramatically in less than two hours. This option is the chosen one for patients with upcoming events such as weddings or high school reunions to look their best. Outcomes are safe, quick, and dentist-led.

This alternative is thought for those patients looking for a more gradual and more affordable solution. Our at-home whitening kits are almost readily available for patient purchase. These kits include custom trays made from impressions of the upper and lower dental arch. These trays come together with a professional bleaching gel that allows patients to get outstanding outcomes without the need to visit the office more than once.

To accomplish the whitening of your teeth, we utilize a tray whitening system. This tray whitening system is completed in 2 steps. The first step is to make an impression of your teeth. With this impression, well craft you custom whitening trays that you can use over and over. Finally, you will take the whitening gel and put it in the gel for a short period of time over a period of a few days. This often results in a whiter smile of 4 8 shades!

We encourage every patient to visit the Laser Dentistry office to discuss which option will suit their unique needs. One of our dentists will take the time to better explain both treatments to the patient and the pros and cons of each one. Both the patient and the dentist will work together to choose the best possible solution. Patients seeking for a more economical solution tend to select the at-home whitening kits. However, they need to understand that results are slower than with the in-office treatment.

Have you ever dreamed of having a perfect smile? Well, you are not the only one. A bright smile has a significant impact on your social life and plays a crucial role in first impressions. Bradenton, Florida patients who smile without concerns are more confident and have more self-esteem.

So its common for those missing one or more teeth to worry about their appearance and smile function. At Laser Dentistry, we take teeth loss seriously, and we offer multiple solutions to this problem.

Of all the options available, our team strongly advises dental implants. Although other treatments might be more affordable (like dentures or dental bridges), dental implants are worth the price. No other treatment offers the same benefits as dental implants.

Implants, if properly maintained, can last a lifetime. In addition, as they are firmly integrated into the bone tissue, they have excellent functionality, and they are the only restorations that prevent bone resorption.

You will never think again about your meals. Dental implants are firmly integrated into the jawbone. This gives implants excellent retention and support, so patients will enjoy all their favorite foods again without worrying about their smiles. No matter how hard the apple is, or how sticky your favorite candies are, you will indulge in these treats as if you had natural teeth!

Snap-In dentures, also known as implant-retained or implant-supported dentures, are an excellent choice for those patients who need to replace all teeth of a dental arch. This denture is similar to traditional full dentures, but the main difference is that, as implants retain it, it provides much better function and comfort.

Implant-retained dentures are removable, so they can be easily cleaned and replaced when necessary. As they have excellent retention, provided by the implants, they allow proper chewing and function (patients will even whistle while wearing them!).

Patients will also maintain their implants in good conditions, as these dentures can be removed to clean the abutments. This reduces the risk of periodontal disease and infections related to the implant. But it also means that patients should visit the office regularly to have their implants professionally cleaned. These visits are also essential to make sure that the denture is fitting and functioning properly.

Dentists usually place several implants along the arch to support a denture. But on some occasions, they only place two, and they hold them in place using Locator abutments. This is a perfect solution for those suffering from tooth loss for a very long time and that have bone resorption in the area. Locator abutments will provide better stability and function for these patients.

Most Americans start worrying when they first see signs of ageing. As soon as they see the fine lines and wrinkles on their face, they immediately start thinking about plastic surgery. However, many people dont know that the changes in their facial appearance can also be a consequence of tooth loss and the use of complete dentures. Ageing signs are not only about skin laxity.

Millions of Americans lost teeth as a consequence of trauma or decay. And according to the American College of Prosthodontics, approximately 90% of them choose dentures to restore their smiles esthetic and function. Although dentures might suit all budgets, patients need to know how wearing a denture will impact their facial appearance before deciding.

As long as all teeth are present, the bone tissue that anchors the teeth is continually regenerated to provide proper support. However, when one or more teeth is lost or pulled out, the body realizes that all that bone tissue now has no function. And no tissue will be maintained if it hasnt got any purpose at all. So after the extraction, a slow resorption process is triggered in the area. This physiological process in which the bone tissue is eliminated is known as dental resorption.

This resorption process eventually affects the jawbone, and when this happens, the facial appearance is irreversibly altered. The lower facial third starts to sunken, and the lips begin showing wrinkles and fine lines.

The problem is that most people turn to prosthetics to replace missing teeth, and traditional dentures dont stop this process. And in addition to the esthetic problem, bone resorption also alters the shape of the jawbone. This means that the denture will need to be modified to fit properly in the altered jawbone. As this process never stops, it will need to be eventually replaced.

Laser Dentistry: Kelly Clarke, DDS - General dentist in Bradenton, FL

When a person loses one or more teeth, their lower facial third experiences many changes. The distance between the tip of the nose and the chin decreases, which leads to the collapse of the lower facial third. This also causes fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, thinner lips, sagging skin, and witches chin (the chin point outs).

Wearing complete dentures only highlights these defects, as they prompt bone resorption, making these matters even worse, and dont provide proper support for the soft tissues of the lower face. Luckily, patients that choose dental implants can forget about all these issues!

If well maintained, a dental implant can last a lifetime. Men and women will be able to enjoy a perfect smile for life. However, this doesnt mean that there is no risk. Implants can fail due to periodontal disease. The same disease that affects natural teeth can impact the foundation of an implant. This disease is mainly a consequence of poor oral health and, although in its first stages it only affects the gum tissue, if it progresses, it also produces bone resorption. Because of this bone resorption, the implant can become loose and fail. If the implants fail, the only way to restore the patients smile is through expensive and time-consuming treatments.

Due to the risks associated with periodontal conditions, patients must visit the dental office at least every six months. In these sessions, our dental team will deeply clean the implant abutments and evaluate the implants conditions to detect any potential problem that can put the future of the restorations at risk.

Apart from maintaining the jawbone structure and avoiding the alteration of facial appearance, dental implants have many other benefits that are worth considering. Implants function like natural teeth, and when they are restored with porcelain crown or bridges, they even look like natural teeth. They are also versatile: implants provide a proper foundation not only to crowns and bridges but also to complete dentures. In fact, Snap-In dentures (also known as implant-retained or implant-supported dentures) are gaining popularity among those patients that have lost an entire dental arch. They are much more comfortable than traditional complete dentures, and as they prevent jawbone resorption, they even eliminate the need for dental adhesives.

Those patients who want to look young and have a healthy smile should speak to their dentist about the possibility of getting dental implants. Even if they have lost an entire arch of teeth, they can talk about snap-in dentures, a denture that will look like traditional ones but will have all the benefits of the implants.

Women and men that have implants placed will maintain their youthful appearance. Dental implants prevent bone resorption, avoiding all the facial alterations that it brings. In addition to bone maintenance, dental implants have many other benefits. They offer improved function, taste, self-esteem, and optimal convenience.

The most crucial step is to seek professional advice on how to replace missing teeth as soon as they are lost. The sooner teeth are replaced, the less likely it is to suffer dramatic dental resorption. There are treatment options for tooth loss, such as:

Those patients that have lost an entire arch of teeth dont have as many options as those with single tooth loss. They often end up wearing complete dentures as its usually their only choice. Fortunately, theres a treatment option for these patients that still combat bone resorption:implant-supported dentures. These dentures are similar to traditional full dentures. They are supported and retained by implants, making them much more comfortable to wear while avoiding bone resorption.

The dentist normally places up to 4 implants that are strategically implanted along the dental arch. Once the implants are firmly integrated into the bone, the dentist restores the patients smile with a special complete denture that connects with the implants abutments. With implant-supported dentures, patients will gain back full functionality while also reducing the risk of bone resorption.

Patients have many options to restore dental implants. But suppose they choose not to have dental implants placed. In that case, they have several treatment alternatives, including complete or partial dentures and dental bridges. However, although these other options are also effective, none of them prevents bone resorption. This means that the jaw structure will eventually be altered, causing esthetic problems and the need to replace the denture in the near future, as it wont fit properly.

Bone resorption starts as soon as the tooth (or teeth) is lost. The sooner the patients get the implants placed, the less likely it is to suffer unwanted changes in their youthful appearance. So right after the extraction, the patient needs to talk to the dentist to see which tooth replacement option he or she has to make the right decision.

Not all patients are suitable candidates for dental implants. Patients need to have enough volume and quality of bone tissue to have an implant placed. This bone tissue might have been lost if the patient has been without a teeth replacement option for some time, or he or she has been wearing a traditional full denture for several months. If too much tissue has disappeared, the dentist might not feel confident enough to move forward with the procedure.

But this doesnt mean that patients with insufficient bone will never get an implant. In some cases, the patient might just need bone grafting. With this technique, the dentist builds up the bone required to hold the implant in place. After a few weeks, the new bone tissue will be ready, and the dentist will perform the surgery.Whether the patients are candidates or not is determined by a combination of a physical evaluation and x-rays to check the health of the jaw bone.

They are made of a biocompatible metal that can stimulate the deposit of bone tissue surrounding it. When this new tissue solidifies, the implant is firmly integrated into the smile. This strong integration provides the best stabilization compared to any other tooth-replacement alternative option available today. Implants are the gold standard when it comes to tooth replacement. They are long-lasting, reliable, and effective at restoring the function and beauty of a patients smile.

The team at Laser Dentistry are very friendly, kind, and extremely professional . I have been going there since 2013 and plan to continue to make the 40 mile drive twice a year as long as I am able. Laser cleanings are painless. Dr. Clarke and team have a great chairside manner! I also appreciate that they arrange their appointments so there are no long wait times. I just wish they could clean my dog's teeth too! 9/22/21 - Update - Just had my 2nd appointment of the year, and once again they surpassed my expectations. Great team of professionals. I particularly appreciate that they check my mouth for any possible cancers developing. Never occurred to me that there could be cancer in my mouth, but grateful that they do. Wonderful and painless session. 10/11/22 another year another dental appointment and as always it was a great experience. This visit included a cleaning, X-rays, cancer check and fluoride treatment. At 76 I'm extremely grateful just to have my own teeth...and when the doc checks my teeth and says everything looks good that is such a bonus..... The entire staff always are friendly and very accommodating when I need to change appointments..... they are the best!!!!
