Dr. Denisse Lasanta is board-certified in pediatric dentistry by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, an accomplishment that requires additional training and testing. And she is a professor of Pediatric Dentistry, overseeing a residency program for dentists training for Pediatric Dentistry certification.
She is also a mom of two small children so she understands the gentleness needed to treat kids to give them a good experience at the dentists office. Dr. Denisse speaks both English and Spanish and is one of the few Spanish-speaking pediatric dentists in the area.

As a mom of young children, I know how complex and fascinating children are. I love being around them, teaching, guiding, and helping them grow into remarkable young adults. Earning a board certification for pediatric dentistry, Ive devoted my professional life to helping children develop beautiful, healthy and confident smiles. One of my goals is to educate and inspire them to maintain good oral health care.

Because I understand it is crucial to be patient with children, I take the time to explain things which are unfamiliar, and even a little scary, until your child feels comfortable and safe. I was born in a small town in Puerto Rico and grew up in Sebring, Florida. I attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors in 2009 with my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD).
Next, I completed a two-year pediatric dental residency with University Pediatric Hospital Puerto Rico Medical Center and the San Juan Municipal Hospital. Both of these institutions are highly regarded for delivering exceptional childrens medical care across Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. I was honored to be chosen as Chief Resident, awarded Outstanding Resident and graduated in 2011 with a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.
Im currently a professor in a Pediatric Dentistry Residency program for a community health center in Tampa Bay. There, I train general dentists working toward their Certification in Pediatric Dentistry with the NYU Langone Dental Medicine (Florida site).I also have privileges at Tampa General Hospital and the BayCare Hospitals.
Most people do not realize that becoming a board certified pediatric dentist is voluntary, not required, and involves more training and testing. Dr. Denisse is board certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. This prestigious organization describes the process as follows. A dentist who graduates from a specialty program becomes a pediatric dentist and is eligible to become board certified through the voluntary examination process of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). Involvement in the certification process is a demonstration of the pediatric dentists pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence.
The certification process involves a written Qualifying Examination and an Oral Clinical Examination covering all areas of information on which a pediatric dentist should be knowledgeable. Certification is awarded for a time-limited period, and they must renew annually to maintain their board certified status. Through this accomplishment, a pediatric dentist has earned the title of Diplomate of the American Board Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Lasanta and her entire staff are amazing! From the first phone call to schedule the appointment for my daughter til the day of the procedure, Dr. Lasanta treated us with utmost care and patience. She is very compassionate and caring...our daughter was a patient that she cares for, not just another number on her book that rotates in and out of her clinic. Not only does the office waiting area look great including the children's activity room, but the equipment used is new and top notch. The service is World-class here starting with Sasha the office manager on down, my 3 year old earned his token for the toy machine with ease due to the impressive bedside manner of the staff, he cooperated and even got his bite wing images done right the first time! Dr. LaSanta was super nice and even went above and beyond with her care, duties and attention to detail. We didn't feel rushed or blown off when we asked our questions. My wife and I love this office and would recommend it hands down over any other. We feel you will understand once you give them a try. You won't want to take your child anywhere else! Great job everyone!

I brought my son to Dr. Lasanta for an exam and cleaning. We loved everything about our experience, they definitely have customers for many years to come. The waiting room is very clean and has a game room for kids. They can watch TV, or play with one of the tablets on the wall. We didn't wait long before being called back. The hygienists were so kid friendly, and kept me involved throughout the process. Dr. Lasanta came in once the cleaning was complete and did an exam. She was also very kid friendly. When she was finished she took plenty of time to speak with us and answer any questions we have about his future orthodontic needs. They then gave my son a coin to trade for a toy. Needless to say that he enjoyed the entire experience.
